Life / How do you Poles feel about the fact that so many Poles work abroad? [145]

Of cause there is work in Poland thats obvious - the difference is the wages are very low {although some on here will have you believe wages are as good as in the EU now}.

I went to Poland last October and you only have to walk around the streets in a major city centre to see how well paid people are - basicly Me and my girlfriend were the only ones shopping and people stared at us like we were in a zoo or something carry all the stuff we had bought.

Its a totally different culture thats for sure and although things are improving its a least 20 years behind most average EU countries.

I found it quite nostalgic when travelling on the bus or trains - it was like being stuck in a time warp back in 1970's England.

The truth is the only investment I saw was on the building of roads in preparation for the next european championships.

History / Are Germans going to pay for WW2? [180]

I think you read my comment incorrectly - Maybe are cultures mean we see things differently.

I am actually interested in what you had to say but I myself do not like to comment on a subject if I have no experience of the perticular references you state.

It's as simple as that and not spinning or propaganda - All I am trying to do is gain an understanding into why certain people/cultures feel the way they do, no doubt there is some truth in everyones arguement if they can stir away from bias.

So I actually welcome your comments my friend and even see it as education which I sure is your own aim? to educate other cultures - if your polish i'm you will know what its like to not beable to express your views opening when you were under soviet rule?

This is what this forum is about it is not about pointing the finger.

Life / How do you Poles feel about the fact that so many Poles work abroad? [145]

You guys have a habbit of trying to make a subject into a race discrimination topic everytime unbelieveable get a life!

This subject is about poles working abroad or leaving poland to work overseas that are highly qualified, it has nothing to do with them taking UK students job prospects.

You know what I use to be in awe of anyone who had a degree! especially as I left school at 15 and got a job - it was only after realising the degree's UK students get are mostly worth nothing as as correctly stated previously most uk students spend there training time getting drunk and into debt and obtain their degrees by copy and paste of other peoples work or paying some agency to produce a original peice of work for them so they can sign it as their own.

This does not happen in poland as much i'm sure -

My point is it is sad that well educated EU workers of any EU county can not obtain a decent skilled job they deserve and end up working in bars or crappy office jobs as they are to over qualified for most other positions

Love / Are you in a Polish-nonPolish relationship? [150]

Interesting point regarding english girls lowering of standards could be something in that lol

As for my study as you put 'itpipeczko' of english women well what can I say it comes from experinces I've had / seen and also what my friends get up too.

You obviously havnt visited a decent nightclub in a while where you would see the daily meat market as we call it here were late 20's to mid 50 years old english women try to pick up young blokes to boost their lowered self confidence levels.

Example I'm quite popular and go out with about 20 mates drinking on a weekend - so I get to see the mating habbits of my friends first hand lol - it goes something like this

Every week the same old bunch of desperate women {excuse the pun} turn up to have a dance drink and feel - they hand around the dancefloor with less clothes on than the average 18 year old and then proceed to pinch are asses and chat us up.

I thank god i'm taken but a few of friends have no shame so start there usual ritual - get drunk have a dance and pick up one of these desperate types for a bit of ex rated action for the night - then the week after they refuse the advances of the girl they used last week and pick one of her friends up and repeat the exercise.

There normally comes after this a period of arguement and general menace pointed at our gang, until a few weeks later the now even more desperate english female plays nice and one of my friends take her home for a session again! Its like pass the parcel - these poor women have no standards anymore there so desperate to find a partner now for life as they aging a bit and all there left with are the 'players' like some of my friends who pick them off at random every weekend ... this is how it is.

You know what my dad always told me 'treat them mean and keep them kean' but as I was raised by my grandparents these morals did not rest well with me so I always treat ladies with the upmost respect and in return became a soft touch for years. My dad god bless him was right women love bast*rds they like a guy to be mean and if your like I use to be you always ended up being coupled with a control freak - lucky for me things changed later in my 20's and I have had a lot of fun and am lucky to have met a good polish lady who treats me right.

So this is why my friends are so successful - women love guys who treat um mean - it's always been the case and always will be lol

History / Are Germans going to pay for WW2? [180]

No one is questioning the poles got a raw deal but you cant blame everyone and your mother for the crimes committed by another state be it nazi germany or the Soviet Union / Russia.

The UK wasnt invaded due to one main reason we are an island so as long as we controlled the air any invasion attempt would have been suicidal and inflict heavy losses.

I remember my first holiday with my friends where we went to Jersey - a small island that was occupied most of WW2 by the Germans. On one particular day there there was a battle of britain airshow which me and my friends sat down to watch - I'll never forget this old guy walked up to us and starting talking about how he flew spitfires in WW2 and fought in the battle of britain which we all thought umm yer what ever and laughed it off - he told us the reason why England was never invaded was not so much down to the battle of britain but more down to the fact that the germans after invading Russia concentrated all their air power mostly on russia not us - the germans suffered heavy losses and never had the air strength to over throw the RAF again meaning an invasion would never happen with out huge unrecoverable losses for nazi germany.

So in a way Russia saved are asses lol

I often thought about this silly old man going on about being a war hero and in the battle of britain for years and it caused much amusment to me and my friends in conversation until ... one day I was watching the news and who's face was on the telly but the same old mans - he'd been taken hostage in the middle east and had just been realised and was going back home to Jersey. - I have never felt so ashamed in all my life and learned why we should respect everyone because you never know who your talking too!

Yer I suppose I am lol but its only now that I realise how manipulative some uk girls can be and when you meet someone from another culture you notice the difference right away.

I also see the amount of sad lonely women chasing younger guys every week and cant help but feel justified by the way I feel

Life / How do you Poles feel about the fact that so many Poles work abroad? [145]

If its like it is in the UK my girlfriend is Polish and I'm English - she came to work in the UK 3 years ago after being accepted to work as a cashier at one of our major banks HSBC - she worked in the bank head quarters where she was subjected to constant bullying and discrimination due to her being polish and the english workers fearing their jobs would be lost.

She eventually had to leave this job due to stress and depression which she still suffers from today and her best friend who came over to work with her ended up in a mental hospital in Poland due to having a nervous breakdown.

She is highly qualified and has 2 masters degrees in sciences but has only been able to find work through agencies and is now presently working as a computer inputter - basicly she types registrations forms up on the pc all day for a rubbish wage.

I am ashamed for her as I earn twice the amount she does and work less! they sad fact is most poles come to the UK or Holland etc and are well educated more so than most of us are and can only find basic jobs offering basic pay.

My girlfriend can speak English fluently and her spelling and grammar are better than mine and I'm English for gods sake lol - yet she can not get the sort of job see deserves and is currently in a job where they extend her contract on a monthly basis so she does not even know if she will have a job the following month.

Its even worse for most poles who cant speak english really and end up working in what are nothing more than modern day slave camps - where they have to live in poor standards areas and damp bedsits and flats so that they have some money left out of their wages to send home or save to go back home.

I feel sorry for them.

Love / Are you in a Polish-nonPolish relationship? [150]

Being English I can confirm some {english girls} are obviously very hot but they are always looking for the 'perfect' guy with a good looks/body/money and power - then they realise suprise suprise nobody is perfect when they hit their 30's - interestingly the same time their looks start to fade and they know they have to play ball abit and not be so fussy lol

The problem I have with most english girls is they are so bloody materialistic and use their looks {if they have them] to manipulate guys as they know most guys are ruled by their dick lol {which is true but unfortunate for us}

I took pleasure for years seeing these sort of women's confidence drop when the years take there toll on there looks and they realise the only decent bribing tool they had has now gone and its time to head to the plastic specialists for a nip and tuck or maybe a monthly botex jab lol

This is when the guy gets his payback as he now is the controller of the relationship getting what he wants by manipulating the poor aging girls self confidence... hay thats karma

Good thing is guys women like older men so you have years of fun to look foward too lol

But.. then I met a polish girl who had an amazing body and looks and who whilst wanting security in a realtionship did not take it too the materialistic highs of their english cousins - and who respected their man and gave him a great sex life and made sure he only had eyes for her!

This learnt me to repsect women again and accept there are so women in the world who like a loving relationship more than all the bling and botox.

Polish girls are very hot and I love going out on a weekend now seeing all these sad divorced/single bitter 30 plus women trying to catch the eye of a younger bloke while trying their best to compete against the new influx of hot polish cuties - even the polish couples look happy and put us all to same.

I put it down to the fact that alot of Polish people have old fashion values like respect and love while remaining refreshingly modern in todays selfish self centred uk based female world - revenge certainly is sweet lol

History / Are Germans going to pay for WW2? [180]

I have to be honest, when I see the amount of information various people have put on this subject and the various differences of opinion on it I find it quite daunting.

The problem I have with a lot of what people are saying is that your answers are not put in plain english - by that is looks to me like someone has gone on a website or copy and pasted a big chunk of an historical archive .. added a few lines of their own thoughts and called it their own words.

90 percent of people do not read historical literature like this in such depth - so I have to be honest I have never heard alot of the historical information that is stated by other people.

Therefore my comments are quoted in 'LAYMANS TERMS' are as we say plain english - meaning when you read the comments you do not feel like you are revising for a history degree lol.

I am sure the vast majority of Polish and certainly english are not 'well versed' on all the historical arguements you put foward. So my interest on why Polish people are so Pro - German / Avoid the Jewish Subject and point the finger of bitter resentment is a statement to the normal man on the street.

If your a professor or history expert i'm afraid I would need to read up on the subject more, which I intend to do! but at this time alot of what you are saying is beyond my knowledge sorry.

History / Are Germans going to pay for WW2? [180]

Should be relevent then since Roosevelt died April 12th 1945 and world war 2 or VE day was on 7th May 1945

Dont know how he could have influenced what happened after the war ended if he was dead?

Interesting point regarding the Jews and that helps me understand the obvious distance in a conversation that occurs when I have brought this up in Poland so thank you for your comments.

Boycotting - I suppose it was an option but look at Cuba and the 'bay of pigs' - a boycott does not always work, certainly Cuba has managed to surivive decades of boycotting from the US and most of the EU due to their communist dictatorship and Russian influence and it did not stop them did it.

Nether did the US attacking Vietnam to remove the communists work either did it - so you have to ask would a boycott really have worked.

The only option would have been to remove Russia from poland by force and that was never an option as much as the Poles suffer for this.

History / Are Germans going to pay for WW2? [180]

While I understand your sense of being betrayed to a degree given the fact that the UK for one had very limited resources i.e they were on rations until well into the 1950's and we had fought on many fronts all over europe and not forgetting the war in Japan and Asia - how the hell would you expect us to remove the Russians from Poland?

As nukes had just been discovered if the allies had tried to remove the Russians from Poland there is every chance Poland and half the world would be a toxic wasteland now.

The problem was Germany was being attacked on 2 main fronts with the Allies pushing one front and the Russians pushing the other - as Russia or then the Soviet Union is right next door to Poland the russians were always going to get there first - so the only option would have been to declare war on Russia or have a nuke war.

Poland did come out of the war very badly but the blame should be with Russia not the allies - we did what we had to do and our villages, towns and cities were destroyed as well and millions lost their lives.

And why is there little spoken of what happened to the Jews - is it because Poland is a graveyard to so many jews who lost their lives?

Thats a very bold claim and although I do not understand this pro-german stance after what they did to Poland I think labelling Poland with the same blood stain as we do the nazis is a bit harsh.

No doubt some did help the germans but alot of brave poles died flying planes for the RAF in the battle of Britain for example, so you should not generalise an entire race.

Nobody polish has still answered my question why poles are so pro - german and german friendly?

History / Are Germans going to pay for WW2? [180]

The thing that amazed me when I visited Poland last year and discussed WW2 was that fact that certainly a vast chunk of Polish people in the Gdansk area are Pro German - by this I mean they defend them and seem to have forgotten the terrible things they did to your country.

In fact I got more abuse being English as I was labeled as leaving Poland in the hands of Russia and stabbing poles in the back after they helped us fight in WW2.

They actually hated 'Slarvics' russian alot more proberly as the soviet occupation is a more recent memory and even then they went more in to details on how russia sent poles to their deaths on trains sent to Siberia.

I found this German tolerance amazing as just 1 mile from where I stayed there were mass graves of polish people {disabled and mentally ill} who had been executed by the germans.

I believe we need to move foward but what I dont believe is that some poles have more anger towards English/Americans than Germans.

This was a big eye opener! and if you mention 'Jews' you get an equally negative response whether this is due to the fact a high proportion of poles are Catholic religion I dont know - but if that was me I would be defending the Jews and standing up for them not avoiding the subject.

I have researched a bit on WW2 in Poland and came across a lot of blame pointed not as much at the Germans or Russians but a more bitter resentment of the ally countries like the UK/USA/France etc which was quite a shock - did Poland expect the UK for one could jump straight into a new conflict with Russia for example after just finishing war with Germany - so many countries still see the United Kingdom as this great empire but wake up and smell the roses I english and I can verify we are no longer an empire - we are a small country so how some can blame us for stabbing you in the back is beyond me.

Maybe some polish could enlighten me as I was always told by my grandparents who both fought in WW2 that we went to war because of Poland being invaded?

News / Is Poland experiencing the same economic problems as is USA? [30]

Its sad but war actually normally improves an economy as governments sign big defence contracts and builders and sub contractors get big money jobs rebuilding countries they helped knock down...

War is a bad thing but what is better a war to remove a dictator or terrorism - or just leave things as they were and risk someone planting a Nuke in your countries capital or blow you up on your way to work on the train or bus or when you fly somewhere on holiday.

It is terrible people die in war and nearly a 1000 soldiers have died in Afganistan since 2002 alone - but put that into context that on the FIRST DAY of the battle of the Somme this happened:

57,470 men became casualties of which 19,240 were killed or died of wounds. In terms of British casualties, the first day on the Somme is only surpassed by the Fall of Singapore when over 80,000 Allied soldiers became prisoners of war.

Todays war is still terrible but compared to the past our losses are small for the price to pay for a safer world we live in!

News / Is Poland experiencing the same economic problems as is USA? [30]

Problem is everyone lives on credit and most of there wages go to paying of bills and their credit cards, loans etc.

15 years ago you could not get a gold card unless you were earning 50k pounds, now anyone can get one cos there gold and cool or how about a platinum card instead.

This is only the beginning once interest rates go up the economy will go bang - we live in a false economy with a buy now worry about it in retirement attitude. This is nothing to what is going to happen before things settle down.
