Life / Why do Poles drink so much? [161]
Today it has been all about sleep and food. Our football team played for the National Championship last night...and we got crushed by Florida! Lots of drinking took place and nothing has made me feel better than Japanese food and my couch! And, of course, talking with you nice people!

We do have things like that...but I go with the with the old stand by of "hair of the dog" method...Vitiman C works well too!

That is the truth Matyjasz! My friends were here over the summer and when we went out they always asked the bartender what percent of alcohol was in the beer or liquor! So me and my girls introduced them to Barcardi Rum 151....they were stubbling and throwing up almost immediately. Needless to say, they never brought it up again!

WOW bubbawoo! I'm not an idiot! Definately don't think Poles are FREAKS or I wouldn't be dating one! Not looking for those types of stupid gifts for him and his FAMILY (as stated before) but something special and meaningful!
If I had a bf in England I would ask the same question! Every country celebrates holidays in different ways!

I think it all depends on the VISA...my boyfriend went/is going through the same situation. He did go home and is coming back in May. 2 of his friends did win the "lottery" and are now citizens!

I have to say that I am new too all of this. My boyfriend is from Poland and I met him over the summer this year, along with about 30 other men, they were all the sweetestest gentlemen I have ever met!
I have been on several threads and I don't understand why there is a discussion regarding looks and politness by men or women of anyone from Poland or any other culture? I will admit, I am from "Middle America, The Bible Belt or even call us Cow Town USA," but I do think we are very tolrerent of all different kinds of people! We all know in the USA, that we don't have a long and hard fought history as Europe, but we are proud that we came from Europe or where ever that we may be from but....we do love our history.
We have fought for our heritage and we appreciate very much where we are from...please, for once, give us the same respect!
