I'm fluent in Russian and in many cases (not all for sure) I can tell Russian from Ukrainian.
In the 90-ties many thousands Russians used to visit Poland in order to sell their post-Soviet rubbish on the flea markets.
Some Ukes were coming as well.
Today the proportions have changed in favor of Ukrainians working in Poland.
Still some Russians from Kaliningrad are selling cheap cigarets, gas and vodka.

Genealogy / Origin of the name Davidovski [5]
Polish spelling "Dawidowski".
It's Kashubian name used mostly in the area of Gdansk (Danzig).
Kashubians are West-Slavic minority living in Northern part of Poland, polonized but still using Kashubian as their second language.
Maiden name of Donald's Tusk ( Polish prime minister) mother is Dawidowski.
One of Polish ww2 underground heroes was Alek Dawidowski but I'm not sure about his Kashubian roots.

Then my friend the true source of sulfur is Russian low quality oil - we have to get rid of it ASAP.
And the EU has to deal with Polish-Russian problems or to accept high CO2 emission (what is a real problem with coal).

Polish energetic and industry are coal driven what perhaps is not good for environment but perfect in case of emergency you've described.
To make the long story short - we will survive without your gas but you not without gas sales to the EU.

Thanks to Norman Davies the Warsaw Uprising is better known today and even not mistaken wit the Ghetto uprising 1943.
The common knowledge is: Germans slaughtered the revolt not without the silent assent of comrade Stalin.
How unjustly for thousands of Russian anti-commie patriots known as RONA - Russian National Army of Liberation !
Only the infamous SS Dirlewanger Brigade, composed of criminal volunteers from German prisons and concentration camps, could match the deeds of Kaminski's SS Brigade.
Kaminski and his Russian Waffen SS troops were fully involved in mass killings of civilians - the heroes were rather useless in regular combat.
Once again the old scenario.
Russians killing Polish kids and women.
Other Russian watching them from the east-side of the Vistula river.

With all respect to rebelling Berlin 1953 I just try to correct the German simplified version of the post ww2 history.
Many times I've heard the story about Germans initiating anti-commie movement in Ostblock 1953 and successfully finishing the job with fall of the Berlin wall.
Oh some riots in Hungary or Czechoslovakia in the meantime...
It's simple not true moreover it's insulting to the memory of the Balic, Ukrainian, Polish etc.etc. partisans killed by NKVD troops.

As for evidence for student demonstrations in Poland I know it from my grandma - for me good enough but perhaps try with Google.

There were hundreds demonstrations like that (Berlin) in Poland but they were by far less spectacular - no Westberlin behind the wall.
My relatives took part in student demo in the late forties.
Just as an example.
