Hmmm, where did you get this from? America is pretty religious overall. OK, there are two gods, The God and the Mammon. Both are doing pretty well. The Mammon is real, God is only in the hearts. It depends if you concentrate on urban or rural America.
However, they seem to complement each other: the conservative, religious, small town folks and the radical, f**k the religion urban dwellers.

The words to most of her songs were written by Agnieszka Osiecka (died a few years ago) and Maryla was the star of the late 60's, 70's and 80's...I don't know much about 90's and now.
She really got famous with this one:

Poland, as well as all other countries should preserve their own ethnicity, nationality if you will. It's great to absorb other cultures, know them, respect them, but still preserve your own. What will the world become? People who don't know who they really are? It may sound great to be ALL and ONE at the same time, but it's not practical. Viva la difference!

Life / WHERE CAN I FIND THIS POLISH SONG...? (Maryla Rodowicz) [10]
Yeah, all just memories and even more for me. I love all her songs. The words, the music..the 'funky' ways she used to dress for shows..even in commie times. She is a classic! I went to couple of her shows here in Chicago and once in NY. Some people cried when listening to her songs.
I'm not sure if she has anything new nowadays, but I occasionally pop an old CD in and listen... I think, if she was born and sang in todays world, she could be world famous.

You know you're supposed to always keep one x-mas decoration for the whole year - for a good luck...right?
I have one X-mas fridge magnet, which is left for the whole year. It seems to work so far, i hope it will "keep" the luck this year too!

Actually, with the darn snow, all the outside lights still left in place look great. Some houses could stop lighting up Santa, however. The old grunt s/b back in N. Pole resting.

Law / "Texas style" steakhouse in Poznan. Worthy investment? [35]
I attended a couple of backyard BBQ's when in Poland last May. The meat was always way overcooked. Besides, the most popular is pork and chicken, so I guess, they have to be cooked well, but overcooking makes them dry and tough.
Therefore, I don't know if a true steakhouse would survive in Poland, or maybe not just yet. I don't think diners are ready to see blood on the plate when you cut into a rare or medium rare steak...
Burgers and ribs have a chance.

Ask for a window seat when buying a ticket. Besides, you're not really bound to sit as assigned, if the train is not full. That's what I did on my last trip to Poland.

Lol. It must be Sunday then. It is such a traditional sunday dinner!
I love rosół too and always loved to vsit my aunt on weekends (when I still lived in Poland). She lived in a village and the rosól was mad from a chicken who lost her life that day. Sometimes, it had to boil for hours! But, boy - what a rosół it was!
Home made kluski as well.

Never heard of it, but maybe there are some women who do that.
I've walked plenty at night on the Northwest side of Chicago when I came here and did not have a car yet. All I met were people walking dogs...:)
I took subways at 2 or 3 am in NYC where I lived as well and besides a friendly smile from another late night rider - nothing happened.
Also, due to work I drove around midnight through "no so safe areas" and never found myself in a hint of trouble. Maybe just lucky or maybe...for a huge city like Chicago or NYC it's not really that bad as long as you are not taking your chances in some gang infested neighborhoods.

She is going to be a citizen at some point because she married a US citizen - you.
Any polish travel agency will take care of the renewal of her polish passport - for a price of course. She can deal directly with the polish consulate, if she has the time and does not mind the hassle. Frankly, I'd rather pay and let the agency do the work.

Alright boys, you just get on the bikes and start exploring. But, you have to wait until spring! However, the life goes on in the winter too, so Maluch should do!
Renting one is an option...I guess. At least you have a roof over your head.

You're gonna land in Warsaw, I suppose. Start there. It has plenty of of night life. Then, get to Wroclaw! It is a city of young, college people and they know how to party.
