History / German POWs after WW2 - did the allies commit mass murder? [228]

Come on Seanus.. Do you really think that America is safe? Your imagination is running away with you again. America is safe? Yeah sure.. Do you for a second believe that there are no offensive terror weapons in America already? Have you ever been to America?

This is not Poland.. America is a large country with many avenues of compromising our security. We have many enemies from abroad and within our borders.. It is just a matter of time.

Ok Seanus. Yes I agree with you. it is the crazies from the Middle East that are causing the problem. For them they are fighting a holy war. They are fanatics with no regard for human life. Not even for their own.

History / German POWs after WW2 - did the allies commit mass murder? [228]

Today, 18:50 Report #138

Well, Dawid kinda put paid to that idea above. We mobilised our units very quickly and repelled a number of attacks. The surge of invincibility petered out when resistance was stronger than expected.

What rot Seanus. It is true, the Brits defended England in the Air. But they were humiliated at Dunkirk and Dieppe.
Hitler screwed up too.. He could have destroyed England if he would have followed up at Dunkirk.

Hindsight is 20/20 but don't over speculate. U can't tell me u were in Dunkirk too. Or r u just reading the various accounts that everyone else gets?

No Seanus. I was but 15 yrs old at the time of Dunkirk. I entered the service in 1944 when I was drafted. Although I do not have the education that you do, I can still read books about that battle. You seem to get all of your expertise from books and your imagination. ( OUCH )

After escaping from German Internment I made my way back to American lines where I was sent back to the US.. For me the war was over,I spent the next 14 months in various Army hospitals gettin put back together again.

AHHH!
Reading these posts sorta make me laugh, and cry at the same time. No matter where ya'all are getting your information from, there is but one answer.War is Hell . Unless you are there to experience it personally, how can you tell how you would react if you were in the same situation. Some of us break down in combat. Others hold up. I was willing to kill to save my skin. I did not want to die.. This goes for our adversaries too. The individual soldier is nothing more than cannon fodder.. Our lives are expendable. In war people die.

BB Yes, Darius is a Canadian. He is originally from SE Poland. Galicia

There ya go Seanus. See, there are some things that you and I can agree on. But Obama is not one of them. You put me in mind of the hippies from the 1960..You are so obsessed with this guy, that you think that he is the second coming of the lord.

There was another guy just like him not too long ago that had the same effect on people. Another Messiah. Jim Jones. Another half breed. People were so infatuated with him, that they committed mass suicide by drinking cyanide laced kool aid in Guyana.

Time will tell.

Please Franek, I don't like labels or being put in a bag and marked.

That is not my intent Seanus. Actually, I like you. At least when you disagree with me, you do not use vulgar language. You respond civilally.

I do have a problem with your profile though. I am not sure just what nationality you are. I was under the impression that you were Polish.. But here recently you mentioned Scotland.. That confused me.

HMMM.
Now this is a horse of another color..I m going to have to go back to the drawing board on this one.. ( No offense, or labels) It just upset my apple cart a little.

Ok! in one of your recent posts, you condemed firearms in the States.. From another thread that I read on here, it was stated that there is a knife culture in Glasgow, and the streets are not safe.. This sounds like an American ghetto. Since I speak with no authority, correct me if I am wrong.

TodaysCondoms Trump Abstinence in Obama Global AIDS Policy (Update1)

By Jason Gale and John Lauerman

Nov. 10 (Bloomberg) -- President-elect Barack Obama will reverse U.S. family-planning and AIDS-prevention strategies that have long linked global funding to anti-abortion and abstinence education, a public-health adviser said.

Public-health policies of President George W. Bush's $45- billion PEPFAR program have brought AIDS drugs to almost 3 million people in poor countries such as Rwanda and Uganda, more than under any other president. Still, requirements that health workers emphasize abstinence from sex and monogamy over condom use have set back sexually transmitted disease prevention and family planning globally, said Susan F. Wood, co-chairman of Obama's advisory committee for women's health.

news. Obama's answer to the AIDS problem.

News / Is it time to tighten gun laws in Poland? [146]

Let me give u some stats, Dawid. Only 3% were accidents. So, from 31,000 to 29,800 per year, wow. Yes, 55% are suicides. Suicide is self murder

There you go again Seanus.. You are like a Pit Bull. You latch on to something and wont let go. You and I discussed this before. What difference does it make how you commit suicide? Be it by a gun, knife. screw driver, jumping off of a bridge or window. ( The wall street crash of 1928) We have cases here in Florida where old people commit suicide by locking themselves in a garage and breath carbon monoxide, out of desperation.

Guns dont kill people. It is the People using the gun that kill.

I'm a teacher, I have more licence to see both sides. I'm not affiliated to any pro or anti gun bodies.

I sure hope that you are not teaching this crap to your students. Give the kids a break. I just hope that you are teaching them that they are allowed to exercise their own thoughts.

British aiding the Poles in WW2.. HAH, geeze what an idiot

After Poland had been overrun, a government-in-exile, an armed forces, and an intelligence service were established outside of Poland. These organisations contributed to the Allied effort throughout the war. As Poland never made a general surrender or produced a collaboratory puppet government, it was directly governed by a purely German administration know as the Generalgouvernement. This administration was in turn opposed by the Polish Underground State.

Poles provided important help to the Allies throughout the war. Some of these actions included the prewar and wartime decyphering of German Enigma machine codes by cryptologists Marian Rejewski and his colleagues; the service of the Polish Air Force, not only in the Allied victory in the Battle of Britain but also the subsequent war in the air; the defense of Tobruk; the capture of the German-held monastery hill of Monte Cassino; a role in the battle of the Falaise pocket; and an airborne brigade parachute drop during Operation Market Garden.

Get a life, you fool

Life / Polish Fairytales [25]

Hey guy's I am glad that you enjoy the link that I gave you, but there are many more. Try this one to start. If you enjoy this then I will give you more.. I know them all.

The Polish White Eagle
A thousand years ago, or maybe even more, there lived three brothers, Lech, Czech, and Rus. For many years they had been content in their villages, but the families grew larger and they needed more room to live.

The brothers decided to travel in different directions to search for new homes. Lech, Czech, and Rus traveled with their troops for many days. They rode their horses over mountains and rivers, through forests and wild country. There were no people to be found anywhere, not a town or tiny village. On the crest of a mountain top, they separated, each going in a different direction. Czech went to the left, Rus went to the right and Lech rode straight ahead, down the mountain and across vast plains.

One day Lech saw a spendid sight. He and his troops had come to a place where a meadow surrounded a small lake. They stopped at the edge of the meadow as a great eagle flew over their heads. It flew around in great swooping circles, then perched on its nest, high on a craggy rock. Lech stared in awe at the beautiful sight. As the eagle spread its wings and soared into the heavens again, a ray of sunshine from the red setting sun fell on the eagle's wings, so they appeared tipped with gold, the rest of the bird was pure white.

"Here is where we will stay!" declared Lech. "Here is our new home, and we will call this place GNIEZNO ... (the eagle's nest).

He and his people built many houses and it became the center of his territory. They called themselves Polonians, which means "People of the Field". They made a banner with a white eagle on a red field and flew it over the town of Gniezno, which became the first historical capital of Poland.

And, now you know how Poland began . .
