What would you say to someone who said the following:

I just do not like Poles, I do not like their values, I do not like how they look at others, I do not like their language, the pronouncaition and stuff. I do not like many other peoples, but Poles are on top of the list for at least two other reasons I have to tell here:

- the dumb among them have problems realizing the place god gave them in this live
- they are becoming too f8cking many around here. And I do not support drastic measures, but some day something will be done about that.

Do you realise how stupid your argument is? I very much doubt you have ever had any kind of personal rrelationship with a Muslim person, so how are you in a position to judge an entire culture based on your prejudices?

Whilst I am loathed to stereotype, I would be lying if I said I didn't recognise some of those traits in my girlfriend. I do however think it can be applied to a number of women, not only Polish.

Insecurity can sometimes be sweet, but at other times it can be a bit tedious. The only thing I find genuinely annoying is that it doesn't always work both ways...

Actually I would like to see the evidence for that because I frankly don't believe that.

The level of English is probably a good indication of the quality of the source.

When Germans have heard for first time Polish conversation in air they have taken it for a very funny English joke.

Poland indeed paid a heavy price but it was a price they paid for no one but themselves. They went to war for no one but themselves.

That is generally how foreign policy works. I simply love this notion that the Poles fought for Britain. I would find it quite funny if so many deluded tw*ts didn't actually believe it.

So do you feel that a lot of Britons feel the same way you do, that selling their soul and joining the Nazi's would have been the correct thing to do?

I don't, but apparently (according to our ever so enlightened Polish friends) the actual course of action taken by the British was also immoral. Apparently we should have sent troops headfirst in to Germany the day after the Nazis stepped foot in Poland.

I don't think Vafunkoolo and Harry honestly feel that way, they are just reacting to some ignorant posters, who should be grateful of the fact that Poland exists today, rather than blame the British for their problems.

I wonder why Poland didn't invade Germany when Hitler marched in to Czechoslovakia?

- French did not try to mask Katyn massacre like Churchill did - that would entirely change the face of enemy for Polish troops. TWO
- French did not kill Sikorski. THREE
- French did not sell us out in Yalta.

And what did the USA do? Do you think Churchill had any real influence over Stalin at Yalta?

This is not accurate. The Declaration by United Nations specifically the Atlantic Charter identified eight points. One of those eight is: 'Territorial adjustments must be in accord with the wishes of the peoples concerned.'

The truth is the United States WAS obligated. Instead of working as an ally with Churchill, FDR went out of his way to belittle Churchill in front of Stalin.

That being the case, the USA failed to fulfill their obligations to a number of people. Poland may be have left to the USSR, but spare a poor thought for the people of Indochina who were handed straight back to the French!

The English are a mixture of Normans, Vikings, Gallics, Celts, Romans, Anglo Saxons, Jews etc. etc. We are a predominantly white country but there is no dominant race. You can not describe the features of a typical English person in the same way that you can describe the features of a typical Pole.

My girlfriend is Polish and she looks Polish. I am English but if you saw me you would have no idea (unless you heard me speak of course).

I'm talking specificially about ethnicity. Race defined by culture is a different matter. I consider myself 100% English (ok I have a Great great granbdfather who was a Polish Jew) but my appearance is more Southern European.

If you took the time to read some of my posts, you would realise I deplore racist stereotypes. I'm sure Shelley would testify...

Sometimes this forum is a support group for Plastic Poles whinging about how Britain never did enough for them. Anyone who attempts to question the mythology surrounding these bonding sessions is told to stfu and stop intruding on their mourning process. Brits have a right to defend themselves from what they see as false accusations as much as Poles do.

My posts were a response to the drivel espoused by yourself, Celinski etc. I am not anti-Poland, I have a Polish girlfriend and will be spending Christmas in Poland with her family. Like I said, my posts are a provocative response to morons like you, and do not reflect my opinion on Poles in general. Where as you seem to actually believe what you have posted!

It's funny because most of these accusations of betrayal quite often come from non-Polish speaking 'Poles' living in the USA. Shame on you for painting the people you claim to represent in this way.

Ozi Dan created the thread and is conspicuous by his absence since. The thread title and opening post is a classic bit of Brit bashing (the use of the term pom is a good indication). This whole thread was cleverly designed to provoke the responses it has, and I'm sure our convict friend is lauging at the sheer number of indignant replies from Brits and Poles alike. You have contributed to this Brit bashing with your pathetic notion of betrayal so don't be surprised if I label you a moron.

Keep in mind, there would have been far less casualities if Britain and France would have confronted Germany as soon as they invaded Poland. Why do you think the war took such a tremendous toll on human life???? Because of that initial stall!!!
Britain actually suffered MORE casualities because they waited. It was bad for them, they were going to have to get involved sooner or later anyway.

And what about the US? Why didn't they enter the war earlier? it would have been over in 5 minutes! I love the way you hold Britain solely responsible for Poland's situation. It does highlight a rather sad blame culture. I'm sure most Poles are better than that.

As for betrayal, that is not brit bashing, that is history. You cannot deny it. Bashing is calling someone a degrading name, true, but I haven't called anyone anything degrading. I just confronted the anti polish sentiment in this thread with reality.

No it is not history. It's a bitter twisted take on events. Events are history, taking these events out of context to create a totally false notion of betrayal is not. David Irving is a historian but his 'history' forms part of an anti-smitic agenda. Your 'history' is twisted to blame Britain for Poland's troubles. THAT IS YOUR AGENDA. You place no blame with the French or the US, only Britain. When I was studying the philosophy of history at university I came across coountless examples of this type of 'history'. More often than not it's bullsh1t, twiested to suit an agenda.

As for Pole bashing... i'm just pointing out that a number of the 'Poles' who have contributed to this thread are bitter and twisted. That is not Pole bashing, it is HISTORICAL FACT. Just read through the thread.
