Travel / Buses to Krakow from Europe [3]

Hello.
This is a little special question:

My friend is abroad (in Europe) and on her way back to Krakow.
She wants me to guess where she has been.

She is going by bus tomorrow morning (Sunday) at 07.40am and will be back in Krakow ( still by bus) about 05.30am on Monday, after about 22 hours bus ride.

My task is to guess where she has been.
Any suggestions??

Life / Free internet zone in Krakow [8]

Since I intend to work logged in to my work server, it's best to sit inside.
Maybe these cafes are not so happy for me sitting there too long ??

I have seen there are some libraries, but have never worked this way from such a place, so i really don't know how this is....

Anybody know about some free internet zone in Krakow city? I need to work some hours in daytime, so I also need power connection..
I know about the zone in Galeria Krakowska and at Rynek, but there are no "privacy" for work.

Love / Is it possible to be friends with girls in Poland? [59]

I believe it is different to have female friends in your won country where you have so many things in common with those girls, such as culture, politics and hobbies, common events and such.

When one goes abroad, you encounter people which whom you have less in common for obvious reasons. I don;t see it as a problem at all and I cannot see women forcing or pressuring you to have sex with them, unless you are giving them signals to do so.

Thanks.. this is an answer I hoped to get... Do I have to explain more about my intentions.. ;)

PS:
In my country there are no problems beeing friends with girls... even if we come from different sosial settings, different level of education etc..

Travel / How much $$$ to bring with me to Poland for a 10-14 day trip? [27]

How much money should I allow for spending per day for a 10-14 day trip.

I bring not with me zl at all.
(Maybe 200zl for transport to nearest city.)
Take some cash in dollar, euro or what's best for you.
Then visit 5 - 10 exchange offices and ask what they can give for the amount you have.
You can withdraw zl in all minibanks all over Poland if you have Visa, MasterCard or other international cash- or creditcards.

The amount mentioned (500zl a day) is VERY much, in my opinion ... Unless you going there just to use a lot of money.

Plotin... I'm not sure that I get where you're going with this.

My intention starting this was I would like to date a "random" girl, without other intention than beeing friends.. Many of my friends (boys) tell me this is not possible in Poland.

They instist girls in Poland will believe I wanted them to bed...

umm i'm just trying to show people how Polish girls really are. I'm being sick of listening on this forum how wonderful and lovely they are.

Well... I have not great experianse about this.
But: I really think the polish girls are really great regarding girls in many in many europeen countries.
Of course I can not generalize.
Not just talking about look but about personality...

Not possible to have a friendly relationship with a polish girl..?
- for me this seems a really strange attitude, even if I am not gay.

I am very often in Krakow.
Much of the time I am with my friends, but I often miss some nice company from other polish people.
In my country it's normal being friends with both girls and boys.
Is this possible in Poland, without "people" thinking I just want "free sex"?
- and the girl is regarded as "professional"..?
What about age difference? Is this important for polish people when having friendly relationship?

I have lots of friends (girls) at in my country without beeing partners or lovers.

Is this possible in Poland?
If it is? - is there any nice (read: friendly) polish girl out there for sosial company in Krakow?

Real Estate / What is normal expectation for furniture from Polish renters? [10]

Plotin, can't help you because the apartment is in Wroclaw, not Krakow. But you must be abel to find a property in Krakow easily? Are there reasons why you can't find the property you want e.g you don't want to pay an agent, or they are too expensive etc?

As I wrote above I am now renting a flat with my friend (female student).
The renting time will be determined in some months.

Now I an looking for an other aperment for renting in Krakow, preferably directly from the owner, so I don't need to pay the provision to an agent.

I look for a girl / lady who can live there and look after the appartment.
I will visit Krakow often and my experiences are that girls usually are better to look after the apartment than boys are.. (sorry boys).
The girl I live with now will tell I am serious and there are no problems living in same flat with me..

I am renting a flat.
There are beds, table, chairs, a sofa - and lamps of course.
That's it - and very ok.

The rest, kitchen stuff we have ourselves.
We are two quite and very nice people.. so just tell us if you want some solid people for 6 months or a year.. in Krakow ... We also pay in advance, if you want :)

She doesn't want to go to Poland now (understandable) but can't get a refund on the tickets. I just don't know what to say to ease her mind???

The best must be to talk straight forward about this..

Any opinions..........? Also, I live in Chicago and am wanting to go to Poland this summer. Many of my friends have met a woman in Poland and then brought her back to get married,etc. Is this common with women in Poland?

If you think the polish girls are some "easy to get" and even bring with you back to USA you are totally wrong!!!!

I have been in Poland several times - and now will go there every month :)
But: Poland is not a "marketplace" for girls..
This you rather try at home.

Yes the polish girls and the polish in general are really nice, if you are nice and polite and follows the customs where you are..

Good luck - and "welcome" to to WSW or KRK, but not for "hunting" ..and bringing home....

I want to buy a laptop to my polish friend.
Can anyone advice me where on the internet a can find a rewiev of models and prices.
I also think about taking one with me from Norway, but that will maybe not be practical?
