Life / Katowice: what do you think? [42]

Katowice is rather depressing, I think. The location is convenient...not far from Czech,Germany and Krakow. One of those places in Poland that Poles usually smirk at when you mention it, like Lodz.

Life / Opinions about Radio Maryja [134]

Radio Maryja is pretty awful. Not too many good things to say about it, unless you're a fan of reactionary right wing ,xenophobic, antisemitic, anti-gay hate mongering with an emphasis on progarmming for the rural over 70 demographic. An embarassment to Poland.

Life / Opinions about Radio Maryja [134]

Can you actually give any evidence to back your charges, mole? Any quotes, dates, and the like?

--I've listened to Radio Marjya and that is my opinion.Your question supposes that i've had to make transcripts of the broadcasts to have an opinion about them. That is silly.

I don't know where you came from to Poland, but if you came from e.g. America, UK, or Israel, hm, it would be pretty hypocritical of you to complain about the alleged 'antisemitism' (what the hell is that?) 'antigayism' and what not of Radio Maryja, considering what real horrific hate propaganda against the Poles has been propagated by hacks-psychopaths in those countries.

--What I can perhaps glean from your somewhat convoluted suggestion is that where I come from affects my ability to see hateful attitudes. You actually question the existence of antisemitism and xenophobia? Do you actually live in Poland?

Your post is proof you're part of the hate propaganda.

--No, my post shows that I choose to see things for what they are, whether a country, a people or a radio station.I doubt whether I'm part of the "hate propaganda" , as you call it.I've chosen to live in Poland for the last 6 years, and think it's a wonderful place albeit with many issues still to be resolved.

News / Father Rydzyk: Any comments? [28]

Zionist/Israeli shakedown racket to extort money from various countries for the 'holocaust'...Germany is the best example..

Care to elaborate, Joe?Is your use of quotations around the word holocaust meant to question the legitimacy of it,or just to broadcast your ignorance?

Life / Moving to Łódź from US-all information helpful!! [5]

Hey---
I lived in Lodz for a year(2001-2002) and didn't have the greatest experience. My girlfriend is from Lodz and I've been back to visit many times in the 5 years since I moved to Krakow.I felt that Lodz was very depressing, a city in decline--covered in hateful, often antisemitic graffiti. When you ask Poles where they're from, Lodz is one of the places that they say apologetically while averting their eyes.

On the plus side, people do say it's getting better.I was pretty down on Poland living there, I've been in Krakow ever since and I love it here.

I hope I'm not being too negative but as an American who lived there and knows the city, I thought I'd respond.

History / Polish Jews - they changed their Jewish surnames to Polish [532]

Being Jewish and living in Poland,I must say that, fortunately, the prevailing attitude here is far more progressive, tolerant and intellectually honest than the majority of opinions expressed in this thread.
