Food / wiejska sausage - do you cook it / peel it? [22]

Hey, you can grill anything that's grillable!!!

and you can deep fry things that aren't even edible.. deep fried twinkies for instance. lol

btw. all sausage can be cooked again although i don't think i have ever seen krakowska or the like heated.

the white sausage has to be cooked though. it is raw at the store. personally i love it in white borscht.

besides that all others can be eaten as they are.. even kiszka.

Life / Surviving the Polish Winter [27]

learn about layering. find synthetic fabrics or go with wool. look into good windbreaker.. poland winter isn't all that tough. canada or skandi winters can be worse. i camp all year round and hardly ever get cold.. i was a tad on the cool side when i camped at -30F.. otherwise it's no biggie.

check this out:

"going out with mates" doesn't always mean what it seems to be on the surface.

Language / About presentation in Polish [12]

Quote Yesterday, 07:36 . #1

I've jsut started learning some polish on my own. But i got stuck on almost the first thing. I need the correct translation for each word. SO i can understand the whole thing.

Example, what does "A pan?" mean. I understand the whole meaning but what does the words mean? Is A=And and pan=You? or :)

Ja jestem Staffan = Me is Staffan. Right?

Jak sie pan nazywa? = What is your name?

Moje nazwisko Staffan. = My name Staffan.

a is not and "i" is though. "pan" means sir in this case.. otherwise it means man.

ja jestem stefan is i am stefan
nazwisko is surname or last name.. stefan is your imje

And the word "Czy" (in this context). How do i translate it.

(example: "Czy to jest kwiat?")

czy to jest kwiat means is it a flower? czy by itself means "~either"

Feedback / Forum rules wanted [14]

Merged: rules references?

ok, this is now a multiple time i have seen a thread locked up and all the mod (admin) says is to look at the rules.. could you please specify what you have an issue with and which rule applies?

thanks

i read them.. nothing in them that i could tell applied to the threads i have seen closed.. i think a direct reference to, let's say rule 5, surely would be nice.

Language / On nakłada spodnie. Is it correct Polish? [23]

No they are not!!!!
Nakladac czapke
zakladac spodnie
wkladac zdjecie do szuflady, na przyklad.

yup. if you're wkladac you're putting them in something not putting them on yourself. polish is pretty tough. so many freaking variables..

Feedback / Forum rules wanted [14]

see, that wasn't all that hard, was it? lol

I don't specify the rules because the links to the rules are on several thousands of pages.

but you refer to them in your closing posts. being a little more specific may help you with repeat offenders. imho i mod several forums as well as being a member of several others and i find this one kind of tight and confusing at times.

i understand that mods volunteer but seems the forum may be over moderated at times.. just like i found my first post being moved from where i put it a complete over moderation. if you really don't have the time to mod so much then why do it? this is nothing personal.. just trying to understand. thanks

thanks admin.

if someone, mostly because of ignorance or "I'm a newbie" attitide), doesn't want to spend his/her time to follow some simple rules, perhaps it's not a good idea to be a forum member.

good luck with that. :D

about church... where do our priest get the authority, or position.. from the bible? I always get confused here. Do you find anywhere in the bible about papacy or priesthood? about the Holy Father. ??

thank the darn romans for that.. Constantine 1 to be more specific.
