Language / A Native American or a Native Pole: Who is better into which language? [116]

Hello Admin! I wish to clarify a point. You used the term 'Native American' in your Topic title. It is true that English is America's mother tongue. However, the only true 'Native American' is a member of one of a few hundred different Indian Tribes. You can check it with search engines on the Net under 'Tribes of the American Indians'. I'm not here to criticize just clarify. Your Posting was excellent.

USA, Canada / Polish fest in Milwaukee,WI [48]

I'd love to go myself with my Dad and a cousin, but as usual the timing stinks for me. Anyone from Michigan that would be interested in a voyage, to get to the Festival. I live in Muskegon where we have The Lakes Express. It's a ferry that will take you and your car to Milwaukee. I haven't checked the rates lately, but I'll give it a whirl today. If someone is interested I would even help with travel plans and directions. My e-dress is <nicsflix@zcloud.net> Milwaukee does know how to throw a festival. Good food, drink and events. I know the ferry runs at least twice a day. It's a 2.5 hour trip across Lake Michigan to Milwaukee. I think their festivals vary throughout the Summer. Have a Grreat Week!

Life / Help to preserve my son's (half Polish) heritage, teach him language? [5]

Hi Kalee! I am a free user of BYKI and it does have flash cards that come in various forms. There are download lists as well. When signing up if you go one way or the other, they will notify you when a new listing comes out. I have worked on days of the week, months, alphabet and they have a drop down on screen keyboard. It can be fun and frustrating. If you work with your son, you both will develop a second language that is very useful. Contact me if you need some help.(Profile)

Genealogy / "Sajdak and Hanzel" Families. Also Spurek - Is my family still alive? [4]

[Moved from]: "Sajdak and Hanzel" Families

I'm looking for information on the "Sajdak" family either in or from Poland. They immigrated from the region known as Galacia/Meszna. My Grandparents were married and had 3 children before they immigrated to the US. My Grandfather, Andrzej Sajdak came to the states first to help get things started about 1908. At Ellis Island our name was Americanized to "Sidock". My Grandmothers maiden name was Sofia Hanzel and she immigrated to the states in 1910 with my Aunts Mary & Bronislowa & my Uncle Jan. They moved to Virginia to Pennsylvania to Ohio and finally Muskegon, Michigan where they finally built the family Homestead. My Grandparents operated a boarding house for many years. They had seven other children(Aunts Annie, Susie & Victoria or Tuscha, my Dad is Joseph, Uncles Frank, Tony & William). My Grandfather as many of my relatives worked in a paper company. My Dad is all I have left out of 10. Our immidiate family is all in the Muskegon Area. I also have relatives in the Toronto area that I would like to get in touch with, but I just can't seem to make contact. I believe one of my cousins is Cindy Sidock who is a renowned Country/ Western Singer that has her own Fashion line of clothing. Any help would be appreciated. I may be first reached thru my Profile contact. Many Thanks, Nicholas Sidock

Genealogy / FINDING Iwona that used to lived in Henry county Geogia. [12]

It's a vague joke my friend. They're messing with you is all! The Towns Mayberry & Hooterville are ficticious TV show towns. Really Becksi, I thought you would've used Hootersville! Also, in answer to your question, I believe I have seen the name Iwona in polishpenpals.pl or globalpenfriends.com I wish you all the best in your quest. Nic

News / Poland biggest problem [125]

Corrupt politicians, bureaucrats and businessmen are just fragments of the problem. Time is the big factor. People are still living in the 19th & 20th century. This is the 21st century and if you don't keep up with the times they will pass you by in a heartbeat. Politics and Business are not always the best of friends. However they need to work together for a better future. Now more than ever the people need to pull together to make sure things work. There comes a time when you have to Adapt, Improvise & Overcome the negetive elements. Regardless of country people need to quit picking on Religion and making it the villain. In Religion, Just like Politics and Business, you're bound to find a few bad apples on the tree.

News / Black Immigrant living in Poland infects dozens of women with HIV [174]

yes, Polish people are all idiots & racists & so are Americans...Australia is now the world capitol of Philosophy, Cultural Diversity & Intelligent Thought.

As far as I'm concerned you can stick your'e ideologies about Western Civilization & Australia where there Sun don't Shine and give yourself a wedgie on the way back for your opinions. Why did we stray from the original topic towards hate crimes.
