Language / A word about a dialect. [20]

It depends.I had a friend in high school that was refusing to speak polish (she was Silesian) outside the classroom.She said that she don't like it.

Understanding depends on words e.g.:
hasiok-śmietnik
gardina-curtains
galoty-spodnie
I live in Silesia all my life but I don't understand many words.

I think it's the same everywhere.I've heard stories about Poles being insulted when they went abroad.Some of this cases where pretty nusty.My friend is living in Scotland and somone painted her door and kicked her car.It's not the matter of country-it's the matter of self-confidance.If i know my own worth I don't have to put others down by insulting them.

My parents worked full time and i don't think I've lost something, I think I've gained. Every day I watched my smart, confident mother and I knew she is really independent. Very often my mother took me with her to office and showed me different things e.g. I was probably one of the first child in my town that was using computer. I also was in nursery and it wasn't bad. When I was 5 I had to resign from kindergarten and stay at home-it was a nightmare-I've missed my friends and I was bored. The scientists say that it's good for child to go to kindergarten.

Personally I wouldn't stay at home. Different thing can happen and I want to be as safe as possible. What if my husband would die or leave me? I have to be able or at least try to take care of my family by myself.

you can use them both but more common is the second version.I don't know how to explain why.They have also slightly different meaning.

Many of them-yes.They want to have polish wedding and be with their families.It's quite popular.What's more many polish people go abroad to earn for wedding"(insane but true).

As a matter of fact the friend of mine is coming to Poland in July to get married:D

Read some books-Aronson is good(american scientist by the way).It's proven that if you have weapon,and I don't think only about guns,you will get more violent.Although I agree that in US it may be difficult to get rid of guns.

Of course gun can be useful but in general I'm glad that we have in Poland so strict law against guns.In many situations guns only make problems-I've heard of some man killed because he wanted to ask for directions and entred some property.AS to the main point in Poland we have couple different types of permition for a gun-for sport,for home protection(it stays in home),for protection of yourself and other people(you can travel with it).It's not all and in each of this categories there is certain types of gun allowed.So be prepared for problems if you want to have gun in Poland.Remember also that not only guns are not allowed-other kinds of weapon as well.
