Why Americans think that nobody likes them? [185]
OK, I'll do my best to stick to the question.
We dont think that entirely. There are recent political campaigns that sought to instill that belief in us through the media. It was used as a kind of "peer pressure" tactic to win a select demographic group to a particular party. Most adults are immune to this tactic but some young people are still suseptible. Females particularly.
We do understand that different cultures, nations, etc, view what we do through different metrics. That doesn't change the necessity of our policy to us.
We realize that the leaders of other countries find it useful to demonize us. When people find displeasure with their own leaders/rulers their leaders quickly blame the U.S. and it seems to buy them time to smooth things over. (We are the monster under the worlds bed you know!) Think Iceland.
In conclusion, Americans for the most part are Individualists. It isn't that important to most if you like us or not. Hell, Its not that important to us if we like each other! America is an individual nation, same applies. We would prefer to get along with everyone, but, thats not realistic is it?
