Life / Appropriate Gift for Wigilia [7]

It depends from the person - I think that if she is a teacher, propably she like to read (what a stereotype :) ). Recently I was having the same problem with my family and I've decided to buy them something interesting to read. I don't think that alkohol is a good idea, but from the other side last year I've done a special "nalewka" for my father (it was called "Krupnik Krakowski") and it was so delicious that it disappeared in a flash...

Maybe, but not only. My grand grand father was from £ódź and as you may know it was in Russian not Austrian part of Poland. Yes I know there are a lot of Mitzners all around the globe, but in Poland only my family (4 people).

Life / Wanting to live in gdynia, where do i start??? [10]

If you have that much experience in buisness you can also star you own company here.
It's of course hard at the begining but in time who knows...
Polish economy is growing very fast so it may be your chance - look for some black holes which you could fill :)

Look and you will find (Szukajcie a znajdziecie)

Study / Comparing Educational Standards in Poland vs other countries [88]

I think that the greatest problem of education in Poland and EU (don't know if US too) is this 3 year degree - complete bullsh*t for me - what can you learn in that short period of time? As szarlotka said it is even less than 3 years because students doesn't have enough informations :) Lucky me - I'm last year in old 5 year system. It's paranoic that you can actually teach in school just after 3 years education. It's avalanche effect because poor teachers will produce even worse students... I agree that educational system in Poland is a little bit rusty but still it's better than one we are trying to copy from "great west". In education "strong hand" is still better than freedom. When you're a teenager you can offcorurse dissagree but in time it changes.

Life / Smingus-Dyngus - Polish tradition [155]

Yes it's really good fun :) My grandmother always say to us (me and my sister) not to soak her and she attach to her back a paper which is saying: "I would not like to get soaked, please live me alone" - it's working perfectly :)

You better use old-school baloons filled with water and bucket - with them you can use hit nad run tactic which is the best among water combat strategies :)

Study / Comparing Educational Standards in Poland vs other countries [88]

When I was in London last year I've seen books preparing for exams ( A exam I quess - can't remember) and it was quite funny for me :)

But still knowldge how to deal with higher maths often change nothing in our foture life...
and still we have idiots - exactly the same as everywhere :)

P.S. I've heard that in GB the're going to stop teaching about Sheakspear because it's too hard and complicated for students :))))))))

to all Brits, true or not?
