Real Estate / Apartment rent costs in Wroclaw [4]

It depends which faculty (and so - which campus) of the University Your husband is going to lecture at. In some places 2000 can probably let You find a suitable apartment. In the centre however I would say 2 bedrooms are out of reach.

I have a flat for rent meeting Your needs - it is very close to most of the faculties. Please PM or e-mail me if You would be interested.

Real Estate / Current price of Homes in Poland [41]

How does one find out about building costs in Poland?

one comes up with a general table of costs, sums it, multiplies by two, rounds up and then prays that the prices of materials and labour will not rocket up in the next months. At least about land prices one does not have to worry so much anymore.

Life / Secondary school choices in Poland [11]

In fact mybe You can send her to a public school - there are two in Wroclaw with one having English as a 'first' language for sure. Its the number 14 (XIV) and number 5 (V). The first one is a very high-quality high school where teaching is in in English apart from some subjects (like Polish obviously). My fiancee went to a German-language high school in Wroclaw and they had German kids appearing for a semester or two - so perhaps its doable. The other one has an International Baccalaureat instead of a normal Polish one, but I am not entirely sure they teach in English. lo14.wroc.pl is there (XIV) website. Perhaps that would cut the costs - plus Uou can be sure that even if not all classes are in English she would have no trouble fitting in with English-speaking peers.

Life / What is there to do in Warsaw?? [37]

Is that a trick question? :)
Warsaw might not be THE most entertaining place in the world but there sure are things to do and see. The Old Town, Royal Castle, The Royal Route, Lazienki Park, Wilanow Pallace, National Museum, Warsaw Uprising Museum - most typical choices off the top of my head. Chopin Museum is in Warsaw?

Life / What is there to do in Warsaw?? [37]

You can do pretty much all of that in Warsaw too. Take a horse and carridge ride round the Old Town, take a boat in Lazienki, visit interesting neighbourhoods like Zoliborz, Praga etc. It's summer, it's hot, go for a walk - things to do should literaly bump into You :)

There is a special bus line which will take You through most of the important sights for the price of a normal ticket.

Real Estate / Wroclaw - Estate Agents [5]

Why an estate agent? The best estate agent is no estate agent.

Real Estate / Wroclaw - Estate Agents [5]

I understand, sometimes its a must...

In that case, I can give You some names from a pile of business cards I gathered when I was looking to buy a flat in Wroclaw. I believe these people are an incompetent and parasitic bunch, but anna.arcadia@pnet.pl (Arcadia Nieruchomosci) and maybe kruk.net.pl stand out in a positive way.

Homebroker seem professional but they are nasty sharks, so watch out if You deal with them.

I'd say - lesser evil :) I have no idea if they speak English, I suspect the first one might.

is it a house Your selling? good luck then

Real Estate / Bulgarian and Polish market [11]

But he illustrates well the parception of Lodz as a "small" and relatively unimportant city, even though it is twice the size of Poznan.
