The original advice pack seems to be a waste of time, I'm sure they could have provided more relevant and useful advice instead of common sense.

You make me laugh. The point is, there have been a huge amount of threads and hijacking of others dedicated to what you are saying. You are repeating the idea of many forum trolls before you. I have contributed to some of those threads, expressing my ideas, and I won't do what you are doing by being repetetive. Why say something I have said before on the forum? I've almost been part of this forum for a year [under another name] and, like others, are bored with your type of contribution.

Not all of it. Noimmigration is Scottish remember, and I know plenty of people who express the feelings of the OP. I wish they wouldn't express it to me. I hear it often in my workplace, especially since a recent experience in another department of my job. I experienced a lot of bitterness towards Polish and other workers not born here.
On the other hand, the problem does seem to be less here [and it may be just my area which is particularly bad with this bitterness] as people from other areas of Scotland on the forum have expressed the same view you have.
Though, I think someone once said this may be due to proportion.

I'd guess it is hard to find amusing things or interesting things on the forum to sum up when there is so much negativity, and most of it expressed in such a horrific way.

Still happens though :( Last time I had a night out there with friends I was threatened with one. Stupid part was, her friends were holding her back, but mine had to do the same with me because I was tipsy and not pleased with her... Would have been a very bad move. Only time I've ever [well... jointly] tried to accept a fight instead of leaving it. She had to go and hit my best friend though...

I must be painting a nice picture... but I know someone who did was attacked with one and took it off the guy and it ended up in the owner's leg.. I didn't approve, he could have just thrown it away and punched the idiot. I was disgusted at the thought, actually.

Pity about that dent in the car hehe.
I don't know why people bother in my area to do it, I see random stop-searches all the time and know of many being caught. Maybe they just do it again because the punishment is not enough..

I get where you are coming from about what is best for the child, but honestly, there would be so many people who would be never be able to have children if they followed this - which is some punishment for being poor. It seems a little cruel. I'd consider what kind of life the child would have myself, but it is not as if this couple won't be able to feed/clothe and love this child - they are doing well enough I'd say.
More people should really ask themselves if having kids is the best idea.
