Travel / Tourism in Poland the plus and minus points for the natives [38]

As we all know Poland is fast becoming a popular destination for tourism, I'm interested to know what the over all view is of this influx of tourists.

What do you see as the plus points?

What do you see as the down side?

UK, Ireland / British taxpayers pay homeless Polish to go home. [184]

However, apparently the English and the French don't like each other, this is true in some respects but it does not mean every French person and Enlgish person meets is he stereotype Frenchman/woman

I think that this is utter rubbish to be honest, French until not so long ago was probably the only language offered to students in English schools, 100s of English people have homes in France and have had for many years, they integrate in to the French way of life and every time I have been to France I have been treated well and have found the French warm and funny people. I think it's a shabby working class stereo type - generally those who think that the French live on snails and frogs legs and ride around in striped t-shirts with onions round their necks, nuf said...

Okay back to topic

Its a fact that some will land on British shores with inadquate funds and no contacts and they will fail, which is a shame because they came here to find a better way of life, which people have being doing for centuries all around the world, on the other hand the majority of people will come here and succeed and prosper and contribute and some may stay and some will go home after a few years, but they (the ones that live and succeed here) will contribute to goverments coffers which the likes certain people and papers forget to mention.

I'd be careful about negative statements about things Scottish. That's what this psychopath attempts to provoke us into doing - to make anti-Scottish statements in reply to his hate-mongering

but the scottish all drink too much and wear dirty vests and live in horrid high rise housing

- I know. But wouldn't it be better for Europe if predominantly Europeans lived in it?

England was the Commond Wealth..so its not just Europe in the UK....

Too late now... I can see a lot of frustration and anger in some posters on this PF already.

Thats why I said you should get help!

I dont expect polish people to understand the universe beyond the polish borders.

I hang my head in shame, do you not realise, that had it not been for the Polish Air Force we might have lost the war...teachoci, you may not like some of the new comers for your own personal reasons but Poland will be forever be connected to England and we should be proud of that

I personally think we should let people have their say...it is a free world...we may not agree, but eveyone has their own opinion and that is what life is all about..this is a forum and not a communist state, so we should listen and take on board what people say and think for a moment instead of jumping on someone - we may not like it but thats life....in my honest opinion and certainly not humble

nope they can claim immediatly and get a house paid for

16 months, Mr F was correct, if you bothered to look at the link you provided us all with, its states clearly that they cannot claim until they have their NI contributions in for 16 months...

Oh Mr F...just realised you posted..but what the hell Im gonna post it anyway :))

Many Poles died fighting a long side Brits during WW2 and as mush as I respect what Brits have suffered I can't help but feel Poland has suffered more.

I wasnt talking about WWII I was talking about more recent times...but never mind.
