Love / THE TYPICAL POLISH WOMAN? [148]

youtube.com/watch?v=IGGrw71oVIw this is revealing. Some good English spoken here.

I agree. Traits are a better way to look at things. For example, can you easily spot a Catholic walking down the street? Of course not. However, you can notice behaviour and interaction.

The CIA, LOL. That made me laugh, fred. You've made my day with that one. The foremost authorities in Poland, they know more than all Polish people on the ground, right?

Direct the second question to yourself. A friendly country who doesn't get the visa requirement waivered, lol.

That's nonsense, the number of practising Catholics was around 55% at the time of JPII. It has gone down a fair bit since then apparently. This whole idea of the Catholic faith being at the forefront has had its heyday.

Asking my students and looking around, it's not as prevalent as people think.

Are you Catholic, fred?

Must be Catholic, why is that? My fiancee isn't Catholic and she is typically Polish.

They both stand their ground too. Eurola is something of a social commentator, pretty good at it.

Switezianka is more the reasoned academic

They both have some punch to them and will state their mind when needed.

I'm not talking about competition here. For one, it's unfair as they don't know they are being judged.

Secondly, I could equally have said any of the others. I said panienka because she sprung to mind.

They are all nice and show the feisty, yet feminine ways of Polish women.

Spoken like a true Pole, ignoring the foreign aspects and focussing on their own things ;) ;)

Sushi is more intricate than pierogi. We have a pierogi former and it's not that hard if you're not too heavy handed. She doesn't often make them as they are so readily available.

Hard to say, maybe panienka

It's hard to contribute to many threads as too many generalisations come out. I'm just happy that my fiancee can make sushi, pierogi and all sorts of cakes.

I didn't say it was a rule. Many value home cooking and do it well, that's all I was trying to say.

Ask a Polish woman to cook you something. They make simple and often delicious food. For example, request them to make a soup for you. Heavenly!!

As a final comment before bed, I ask PF members which Polish woman ever started a fully-fledged war?

Almost all the bloodshed, wars and heartache on a global scale have been caused by men. Now correct me if I'm wrong but there are more women than men in the world.

We all have our foibles.

Food / TINNED CORN (MAIZE) GALORE IN POLAND [11]

Hell yeah, especially the chrupiÄ…ce (crunchy/crispy) type. It gives beans a run for their money for the wind factor though ;)

I was just saying that that's not why I'm in a relationship. It is when you are a teen.

But the problem in Poland, especially in customer service, is that whining is met with whining. I can think of a number of places where the workers will have a go at the customer.

A problem of Poles, many of them women, is that they are never wrong and can't take the blame.

For the booty? Well, not in my case but I can't speak for everyone.

They do have many good sides, you know!? It's also up to you as the man to tame them and steer the relationship.

You have to subdivide into age groups, Pol3. The ones who are 'of marrying age', i.e 25-30, tend to be highly domesticated, looking for stability and can be defensive.

News / Euro Elections 4th June - Who will you vote for ? [110]

It was all hush hush. Never have I encountered such a lack of publicity in where to go and how to register a vote. It was all TV hype and propaganda. I'm not really interested in all the hoo haa of politics. It makes me sick how people earn off of what they do.

So you see, I want some distance from the whole process.

I might just vindaloo that ;) (Sounds like Cockney-rhyming slang)
