If I would fight for a pan-slavic alliance I would give a sh*t what others think.
If enough people think like me and prefer such a thing to the EU I would go for it.
Regardless what others say...
Point here is that pan-slavists are a tiny minority..most slavs see their future within Europe, within the EU.
So...what does a pan-slavist say? He grumbles:
"We have no chance..the bad west/EU/Germany/GB/US (insert the enemy of the day) oppress us, enslave us and fight against us and we have no chance anyhow...etc., etc. etc."
It's the easy way out for all bitter Crows of this world!
You can hardly dream of a mighty, proud Slava and then balk before the first hurdle!

Poland, Germany end World War II reparations dispute
Polish and German leaders announced Thursday the dispute over World War II compensation claims between the two countries has been over.
Polish Prime Minister Marek Belka and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said their position was supported by a legal analysis drafted by both Polish and German experts for their regularly scheduled annual meeting in Krakow.
In retaliation, the Polish parliament passed a resolution in September calling on its government to submit reparation claims to Germany for losses suffered during the war.

The deadline will be the next 25 years already...then the demographic bomb will have exploded...the Israel as it is now won't exist anymore.
PS: I think lot's of Poles profited from german firms settling in Poland due the lower wages and lower overall costs, leaving unemployed Germans behind, you shouldn't forget about that!
