No really Polonius, that what you just posted was a very Poland-centric view of the history with the Poles as some "Übersaints" and it is no wonder if you compare this view with the general view accepted as mainstream in the world that Poles must feel slighted or disrespected.

But there is a difference between...say...building memorials and teaching the kids and pointing the finger at today's Ukraine!

Thanks Celinski we know all about Katyn and the lingering grievances between Russia and Poland because of WWII, unforgotten are the Kaczynskies in using the WWII to bribe more influence in the EU, now some are eager to pull out skeletons out the closets with the Ukrainians, about 70 years after the deeds happened, against a now needed ally....what for I ask!

Poland already uses this to be hostile against Germany AND Russia...now Ukraine next? Do you really think it will help Polands current and future aims, their standing and influence in Europe?

Erm...the last thing I heard through a survey a majority of about 70 percent or the Serbians are in favour of a EU-membership....

It is Germany who would profit on Polish failure in global politics and in the critical moment, Germans could suggest split/division of Poland.

So, i accusing Polish President Kaczynski and PM Tusk, all togather with Mr. Sikorski for collaboration with Germany.

Well...we are together in the EU and NATO now, I would hope we work together now!
But isn't that the meaning of such memberships?
Mind you Crowie...once Serbia is also a member we will all work together towards a better future!

Who is to judge that?

Georgia was the agressor clearly, they started the war, fact!

But, you obviously have a hard time understanding the Polish psyche...

That has no place in international policy and diplomacy....

This is just another attempt by Kaczynski to go against Tusk,

I thought so...a highly unprofessional man this Kaczynski....abusing his place and position to go after his personal likes and dislikes (as before against Germany too).

A rather brave effort to stand up to Russia with our historic ally, but pointless altogether, as Tusk is calling the shots, and he is obviously with Sarkozy and the rest of the EU ass-kissers.

What's so brave about it?
Russia won't hardly invade Poland or Lithuania now and punish them for their opinion.
And why are they ignoring the true culprit but allying with them? There is only hypocrisy and long term political games + inherited historical grudges but no bravery!

Europe according to a widely accepted definition: geographic Europe in green, and cultural Europe in dark blue (Asian parts of European states in light blue).



Much more of Russia is seen as true European than these bits of Istanbul..

Maybe you just don't get the difference between honoring the troops and honoring a cause!
Many people who were against the Vietnam war, the Iraq war or even against the war in WWII still felt for their boys, their sons, their brothers, their fathers

...and that is their right!

And remember how our dispute started? You said "the Luftwaffe sucked" and I showed you how wrong you were...you said I was glorifying mass murder..since then we are circling around:)

PS: Nobody is demanding from you to honor german or american troops btw.
But neither one of us is dependent on your approval for that!

I just take the same right for myself as every other nation does..to hold up
the respect for all soldiers and their sacrifices! If it doesn't suit you...to bad,
I will never force you to do it!

For Germans war crimes during WW2 were not incidental, it was a policy.

Yeah...that's where your nice anecdote came from about the poor german soldier who got beaten down by their superior for being unpolite to a farmer, right?

And that Franek got treated well as he became a POW??? Just a lone incident???

I am an American,drafted in 1944 at the age of 18. I landed at Utah beach of june 6th 1944, fought all the way to the crossing of the Rhine at Remagan.. After escaping from German Internment I made my way back to American lines where I was sent back to the US.. For me the war was over,I spent the next 14 months in various Army hospitals gettin put back together again.

Whoa...hat's off for making it through! :)

But face the facts, most of their kills came against an inferior air force.

The Russians won't be happy to hear you calling them that...:(

Hitler screwed up too.. He could have destroyed England if he would have followed up at Dunkirk.

He wasn't a rational being at this point anymore...(if he ever was that is)!

That's all what it is Dawid, specualations.
There are strong points that Hitler never would had gone forward with a real
invasion of the islands...chasing them off the continent was enough.
Some even say that in NOT annihilating the british expedition corps at Dunkirk was
some kind of a peace offer...
(Don't forget we are talking here about a mental challenged man)

But on the other hand the german forces felt quite invincible afte just having stormed over most of Europe....

Battle of Britain occured from July to October 1940.

Hitler invaded Russia starting in June 1941.

Yes, but you seem to think the war with GB ended in 41.
There were 4 more years to go...the most decisive and brutal at that.
You think with the so called "Battle of Britain" you won all by yourself against the whole third Reich at their high point of their power...

Problem is the third Reich (Hitler) was at that point not as interested in GB, as they probably should have. It was an error!

Watch the real battle fields across Europe if you want to know what GB would have faced if Hitler had put GB on his list on top....

So please, a bit more reality would do you good...

Why do you think he "gave up" GB but not Russia as the situation there became much more critical and desastrous and costly and later really endangering the Reich?

He just didn't care as much for GB as for Russia...never had!
In this case it was always the Brits wanting the war...
