Love / I'm upset - you encourage foreigners to take the Polish women away [94]

krysia: dont lie

zastanowcie sie troche nad tym swoim podejsciem bo ja naprawde nie widze powodow dla ktorych mielibyscie im pomagac,

Word for word translation:
"Think deeply about your approach, because I really don't see any reasons for which you should be helping them"
No lies there.

Jak mozecie obcokrajowcow namawiac na to aby hajtali sie z Polkami.

How can you convince foreigners to screw the Polish women.
No lies here.

I'm personally offended that Polish women marry foreigners, which means we are worse than them, and I for sure am not, but it irritates me in a certain way, and I cannot understand your foundation completely.

No lies here

When I read the foreigners comment on this forun who screwed with Polish women, then I understand them. They write they are happy with them, because they are not Brittish who marry Polish men, because if it was that way, I'm sure I'd be glad to see them, believe me. And you on top of it all, get right into their ass"

No lies here

Life / The strangest things in Poland [468]

Ok.This one is really, really strange. But it's all over Europe, not only in Poland. When writing a date down, they put the day of the month first then the month.

Or the number 7 gets crossed in the middle.
Or when writing a name, they put last name first. In US you put your first name first.
A week starts from Monday, in US from a Sunday

Life / Worrying observation about Polish attitudes to lying and cheating [62]

About cheating in schools in Poland. I've been to 4 different school in Poland and cheating was wrong. During an exam, the teacher would walk around the class and watch everyone. that doesn't mean they don't cheat, because they do.

A funny thing about cheating. By the time you write down all the needed answers on your cheat-sheet , you have spent so much time creating it and have learned so much from it, that by the time you want to cheat, you find out you already know the answers.

Another reason why they cheat: level of education is much higher compared to the US and grades are very important, so students cheat because they are afraid of their parents and others who might think they are stupid.

In the US grades are also important, but it's no big deal if you have a weaker grade. You just go to Sylvian institute or have a tutor.

Or the teachers say the student needs drugs for ADD, which is another subject all together.

News / Made in Poland products? [66]

I think there might be a number, but there's nothing in Wisconsin, unless you're a hunter and a fisherman. That's what most guys do around here. Well, besides watching football, drinking budweiser, eating pizzas and farting.

Now would not be a good time to come to Wisconsin. It's the deer gun-hunting season. Every year there are accidental shootings or heart-attacks because someone saw a thirty-point buck!!!

If you know how to get to Illinois, You'll know how to get to Wisconsin.
hahahahahaha.
There's nothing in Wisconsin. Chicago has all the Polish goods. Milwaukee has some Polish stores too, but not as many. There are a lot of german and scandinavian people too.

News / Made in Poland products? [66]

In the state of Wisconsin, I have seen leather sandals made in Poland in a shoe store. Really good quality.
I've seen crystal vases and pottery in a local True Value Hardware store and at a discount store.
In a large grocery store- Woodman's in Appleton - I have seen Polish marinated mushrooms, jams, cookies and soups in the international section.

Life / The strangest things in Poland [468]

Yeah, I know. One time in a restaurant in Poland we asked the waitress about the price when we got the bill. I thought she was going to chew our heads off!

In the US the waitresses have to be kind to the customers, or they lose their jobs. They follow the saying: The customer is always right.

Food / Polish recipe for yams (sweet potatoes) [9]

You can find a yam recipe in polish, but it's a translation from Argentina or Brasil or some other country.
I found this one in Polish, but it didn't say how much of each. I guess whatever you prefer:

red beans
coconut milk
cane sugar
sweet potatoes
cinamon
raisins
dried prunes
Mix engredients and boil for 10 minutes till thick. Add sugar to your liking.

OK. Going back to the post.
Churches in Poland don't have bathrooms.
Ha! Who wants to challenge that one!

And that is what I mean about kindergarten - zerówka, they start at age 6.
pre-school they start at age 3.

Life / The strangest things in Poland [468]

Yeah. In Poland you have to take the tramwaj or autobus to go to the store and you can't hold on to 10 bags of groceries because you might fall down and spill all the contents and someone might eat your food.

I have to go to sleep now. Good night

Life / The strangest things in Poland [468]

I know.
One time I was lost in a wieś somewhere, because there weren't any signs anywhere and didn't know where the heck I was, so I asked for directions and these people were so nice, they would explain over and over in detail how to get to the main road and make sure we would get there. It was a nice feeling.

And the directions were correct also....

Life / The strangest things in Poland [468]

Yeah, the pan/pani thing.

1.In schools you share a desk with another student, In US you have your own desk.
2.In Poland you carry a worek with tennis shoes for gym class.
3.They have warm milk for lunch breaks. YUK!!!
4.They start kindergarten at age 6, in the US they start at 5
(I have more later)

But do they have snow? You would never get same tracking with all seasons tires. It's just safer.

Excellent tracking on all seasons tires. Nobody changes tires for winter in USA.
Get lots and lots of snow. Best snowmobile trails around.

In most schools if you have good marks you are "kujon" (what is English translation?)

Kujon is called a "teacher's pet"

Yes, the clapping. Still goes on. I Was on Jugoslavian airlines and they do that too.

Oh. I know a good one. Traffic lights. In Poland first the light is green, then yellow then red. Same as in the US. But in Poland when it turns green again, the yellow light appears just before the green. In US, there is no yellow after the red and before the green.

Life / The strangest things in Poland [468]

1.The way they drive. There's a one lane road and everyone passes whenever they want into the oncoming traffic, which in turn makes them drive onto the side of the road.

2.The way they lock their apartments and cars 10 million times. It's only strange to me because I never lock my house or my car. well, my car sometimes when I leave my chihuahua sitting there so nobody steals him. But not 10 million times.

3. They put ketchup on their pizzas
4. They don't served you ice cold water in restaurants
5. They stare at you if you look different. I have to wear a brace on my leg and all the people were staring at it when I was there. Made me feel very uncomfortable. They make you feel like an alien.

Travel / Why is Poland so Un-Sexy? [84]

Returning back to the older ladies in Poland.
One time when 8 years old I had to go to the toilet. My mother was with me and told the old lady she'll pay for me. When I walked out of the stall, this fat old ugly woman grabs me by the arm and won't let me go!!! I start crying but this big, mean, fat, woman wants her 50gr. and is holding me and hurting my arm and won't let go!! I was never so scared in my life!!! Then my mother walks out. Boy did she give that mean old woman a piece of her mind!!!

And yes, my mother did pay her.

Travel / Why is Poland so Un-Sexy? [84]

Don't be late for the tramwaj to your praca in the fabryka. And make sure you got your buty and rękawiczki and czapka. It can get pretty zimno when the tramwaj doesn't show up and ty musisz stand and czekać.

These older ladies must get a seat!!! When I started Liceum in Poland, I was very nervous and thinking about the school and sat down in the tramwaj and didn't notice a fat older lady standing next to me. When she walked out, she looks at me and in front of everyone says with an accusing and sarcasting tone of voice:"£adnie, bardzo ładnie.."

I was so embarrased I almost cried....
