Life / Should I expect culture shock when coming to Poland from the US or UK? [34]

No we are not living together and will not when I am there, at least at first.

Just leaving Mom, sis, bro and sister's kids. Not leaving behind allot.

It does seem kind of daring to leave everything for someone you have known for all of 6 months. We get along great and have the honesty, trust and communication that make up a great relation.

I'm working on leaning the language. It would be much easier with out all the masculine feminine stuff.

I like my g/f and it has to do with more then looks. I'm to old to be chasing the young high maintenence skirts. If I gave you a list of why I like here there are 10 things I list before her looks and to me she is smoking hot.

Butler hahahahahahahaha yeh right!

I have never had AC in my life. As long as I have a fan I will be fine.

I'm actually excited to live in a place where you do not need a car to survive. Just for Basic Car Insurance and Gas run me at least $200 a month & that does not count repairs or other things like plates.

I don't need alot to be happy either. A place to sleep, food to eat and my G/F.

She lives in Zeliona Gora but she might also be in the Malbork/Gdansk area depending on school. I am looking at a teaching position near where she is Poznan is looking good right now.

I'm from Detroit.

I do have a strong sense of self and personality.

What part are you in Hu_man?

1st. I don't drink and I don't plan on starting again.

2nd. I can't doing what is natural to me.

3rd. I have seen a sense of reserve in the Polish people even here in the US. However, its not every person. Maybe they are not as open and expressive as people here but once they warm up to you everything they express is more open and honest.

4th. I have been in the business world for close to 20 years. I might not be the smartest person in the world but I have a good feel for people.

Love / I'm daying a Polish Guy and I wanna know... [55]

Its not a difference but I think being able to communicate and understand each other is very important. With my GF we have to make sure we are meaning the same thing in the same way. We really take time to make sure things are clear with each other and it has brought us closer.

Life / Polish Green Card [23]

I don't disagree. Where I live jobs are hard to find also. As the auto industry dies in the US so does Detroit. What used be allot of great paying jobs now are low paying fast food and retail jobs. Poland is still in a hang over from the communist rule. Once they figure it out the economy will come back.

Life / Polish Green Card [23]

In the short term maybe. Most of my money would go back to the local economy. English is the language of business and computers. The more someone knows the better they can do.

Life / Polish Green Card [23]

Thats good I have never been a butt kisser. My GF thinks that I won't like it, the pace of life and the smallness. I don't need allot to live. Of course I'm not going to tell any potential employers that. I am either going to be at or near Zeliona Gora or Malbork/Gdansk. Do you live in Poland?

Life / Polish Green Card [23]

I don't think getting a job will be hard. I'm planning on specializing in Business English. I have sent in a few requests and have received prompt replies. I plan on having my certification when I visit that way I can interview months in advance.

Life / Polish Green Card [23]

This is not required for a 2 week vacation is it?

I am going hopefully in May for 2 weeks to see my girl friend. If our relation is still strong I plan on teaching English. Then I can put in for a work visa for the fall. The gentle man I spoke with at the consulate in Chicago said that going to Germany or another country to apply might be faster if i decide to stay there. Because then I would be leaving the country.

Life / Polish Green Card [23]

I thought there was a 90 day limit on visiting? Once someone has a green card they can work. I need to be able to work in Poland.

Life / Polish Green Card [23]

I have a question. If I marry my girlfriend she can get a green card and stay in the US. If we get married is it possible for me to get a Green Card and stay in Poland or is it some kind of long term Visa?

Love / A Polish Married Girl Rocks my boat!! [54]

Get out of your relation. Get your head clear, takes some time, Dont rush back into a relation. No one ever needs another to be happy. Happiness comes from the inside. If you try and fill some void by being in a relation you will always be disapointed.

Love / Advice wanted: meeting Polish girl for the first time [19]

I agree with shewolf. I have shared stuff with my almost girlfriend that might have ended other relations. The only thing it did was bring us closer. I have shared my feelings and weakness with her. The only thing it did was make her trust me more because I was honest. I feel she is a rare women though.

Life / Teachers and teaching styles in Poland [6]

Hi Tom

Will you need any assistance at the camp? I am working on my certification right now. I am willing to work relatively cheap to gain experience.
