History / Polish Anti-semitism - origins? [186]

PS. Bratwurst Boy: "Why do you think the world is focusing on Poles..."

That was rather meant sarcastically...mind you...my english sucks!

Simply because you tricky Germans choose Poland as a main place for concentration camps

Yes...the Nazis surely planned to lose the war and the camps becoming focus of international interest...tricky guys!

BB: Germans did plenty of that kind of jobs

Yeah...that's why Poles and Russians thought why not put another one to them, be it Katyn or Jedwabne, who cares after all..

Why? Because there had to be some way to justify Yalta.

There might be some truth to that....

History / Polish Anti-semitism - origins? [186]

BB: If you want to go deeper in the case please read debated issues.

I searched everywhere but COULD NOT FIND ONE historian or one little quote who claims that it was the Germans!

Even the polish Institute of Remembrance researched this case and came to the conclusion that it was NOT the Germans...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_Institute_of_National_Remembrance

The Polish Institute of National Remembrance subsequently issued findings in support of Gross' claims.[1][2][3]

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jedwabne_pogrom

Naturally, these unfortunate events would not ever have happened if Nazi Germany and Soviet Union had not invaded Poland.

There were pogroms in eastern Europe before the Nazis came...you surely didn't need the Germans for that!

Even Kwasniewski knew better:

I am saying it after the completion of the investigation conducted by appropriate judicial authorities in Poland. Despite a long time that has past since that moment, few witnesses and little evidence, the findings unequivocally state that the people from Jedwabne were murdered by their Polish neighbors.

....but who knows...maybe it's just one big anti-polish conspiration..

History / Polish Anti-semitism - origins? [186]

Which centuries ?

More than 3 months surely...:)

Really ? Gross is a zoological Polonophobe, who made a career spreading hate and chuvanism.

The Jews take it still seriously:

History / Polish Anti-semitism - origins? [186]

Oddly enough no, there wasnt much intermarriage between Germans and Poles and the vast majority of rapes that happened happened on Germans so tovarish Bratwurst zdarava!

Not much intermarriage between Poles and Germans during the centuries as Poles were subjugated to Germans and Russians but 3 month of rape excesses make the Germans russian?

But then you are believing also that Poles could have crushed Prussia any time if they had just wanted to...nothing beats a nice illusion, doesn' it!

History / Poland and Lithuania [161]

Give me some quotations

...according to surveys conducted in the spring of 1990, 47% of Poles in Lithuania supported the pro-Soviet Communist party (in contrast to 8% support among ethnic Lithuanians), while 35% supported Lithuanian independence.[25]

Interesting article:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_minority_in_Lithuania

If that is true it seems that the lithuanian Poles were on the soviet side as he SU collapsed and Lithuania sought to get free...hence the tensions.

But they are in the EU now....there are rules and laws for all minorities in each member states!

History / Lusatians our neighbours. [10]

Turks living in Germany can support their Lusatian brothers :

Don't let that hear Crow...Turks and Slavs as "brothers"! :)

most historians are not really sure who they were.

They forgot to ask Crowie...

History / Prussian History [29]

:) Very far gone history! :):):)

Come to think of....

During the Battle of Grunwald in 1410, Nicholas von Renys carried the banner of the Culmerland troops for the Teutonic Order. He lowered the banner prematurely, which was considered a signal for retreat that contributed to the defeat of the Knights.

The Lizard Union was believed to have been behind messages sent from Kulm advising surrender to the Order's capital of Marienburg...

It took a German to defeat the Order....how does that make you feel? :)

Mazurs history is similar to Bambers history

Na ja....quite the reverse!
As the Bambers became polonized the Masuren were mostly germanized....

We should really build a new nation...Polany...or Germand...or ....or...hmmm:):):)

Hmmm...I posted from wiki....

de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masuren

Jahrhundert immer mehr zugunsten der deutschen Sprache aufgegeben wurde.

See?

Interesting history nonetheless....inhabited by the ur-Prussians which got killed by the Order, then later by said Order and german settlers who in turn invited polish settlers...

History / Prussian History [29]

As to the old Prussians, they had different political afilmation durring history

They weren't "old" Prussians...those were either dead or assimiliated already but

organization of Prussian nobles and knights

Who very probably shortly before were still fighting for the Order as all nobles were.
Or how do you think they became knights and nobles if not through fighting for the Order and in return awarded by it?

Book "Mazury. Zapomniane południe Prus Wschodnich" by German historician Andreas Kossert. No link, sorry. I checked, it was not medieval but XVI-XVII century Polish language.

Thanks

The Mazurian dialect was the one which was used by Polish linguists to reconstruct clasical medieval Polish language.

Do you have a link for that? Just curious....

History / Question about Post WW2 Polish Jews etc [42]

As well you must be aware the image you linked too...

I didn't post an image!

It is not a modern phenomenon as you make out.

And that was my point in this discussion!
Stereotypes aren't modern phenomenons but developed over centuries.
You can dismiss them as you want but there is always a core of truth to them...
