Life / Who drinks more: Poles or Russians? [50]

Even Ireland drink more than Poland.

I use to live in Lithuania and they make us look like teetotallers.
Any morning you go to the shop, you see work men cueing up to buy whatever is the cheapest alcohol on offer that day, usually some kind of Vodka.

Language / Survival Polish (must learn Polish) [14]

If you are going to Poland here is some phrases you MUST know, in order to fit in.
Because if you learn these phrases by heart Polish people may think you are a native Pole.

I can't condone that kind of childish behaviour unless i am directly involved and completely plootered drunk.
Ah, it is out of order in Poland.

they didn't harm anyone

we are all entitled to make fools of ourselves

Yes and Yes, do you not have the cringe factor, though?
When in Rome and all...?
Polish people are not as load as Americans, Irish or English, in fact it is considered rude to do some as I am sure you know W.

It is because it is becoming the "norm" or "usual"l that is annoying.

I know that the Irish boys are the worst, cos they dont even remeber what they get upto, dont play the innocent card SeanMB.

I have done sh1t in me time and it is true that Irish people are just as guilty of this but I have never done this out side of England or Ireland, where it is more expectable.

It is great fun ripin up the town but not here and you know exactly what i mean

were did u get that out off?

Oh, I wish it weren't true but it is...cringe factor

I cringe when i see a load of "lads" thinking they are great by wanting to be the centre of attention in another country acting like feckin egits.

Youz are all off yourz a trolley, if you think this is expectable behaviour in Poland.
Polish women are NOT impressed by it and neither is anyone else.

I know youz think that it is just lads being lads but it isn't they feck up everyone's enjoyment.
I am sitting in Rynek and enjoying my time, when all of a sudden a stag party hits like a shower of fools

Travel / Hotels, Hostels and B&Bs in Krakow [28]

Just having a VERY stressed out day. Not helped out by the ex who is messing with my head sending me texts saying she wants to help me and sending me kisses and hugs, then when i ask her to actually do something she says she is too busy with work or just doesn't reply. Like I need that on top of everyting else.

Mondays .......

Cardno85, what is your budget? and for how long.
If you are stuck I recommend getting a bus or tram out of the city, it will be cheaper probably about 50 Zloty for a fairly good place.

Life / Do we have TV in Poland? [38]

To call Ireland a small island in the middle of the Atlantic is quite false.

No it is not, look at Russia and get back to me :)

Travel / Hotels, Hostels and B&Bs in Krakow [28]

There used to be some real cheap places before, the ones I know are gone but it is a city.
The only place I know that might be reasonably cheap in the centre is "the cracovia" hotel URL there are really cheap good quility places out side of Krakow.

Life / Do we have TV in Poland? [38]

Talk about misconceptions, the first 4 minutes of this are funny (don't bother with the rest, I would think there are people who have this conception of central eastern Europe, tahts my street :)

Life / Where to buy bedding in Krakow? [10]

Jubilat in krakow had all that stuff, it should still.
It is near the castle next to the bridge, the very ugly building that they try to hide unsuccessfully with advertisements.

Life / Do we have TV in Poland? [38]

We are slowly getting to know each other more.

People can say what they want about the E.U. but it is a fantastic time in Europe, we are all finally meeting each other at long last :)

Life / Do we have TV in Poland? [38]

I have had loads of these questions from every country I have been to (including Poland).
When I first came to Poland, a woman told me that people in my country still think that Poland is communist, I replied "possibly, some uneducated people might think that, not much information has been getting through, it is like some Polish people think Ireland is under british rule" she replied "you are" I had to show her my Irish passport to convince her otherwise, I met a Welsh guy recently who thought the same thing.

I am most shocked about English people not knowing anything abuot Ireland, we are next door neighbours but there you go :/
But as for Ireland being a tiny Island in the Atlantic, I am also surprised how much people know about it.

Life / COFFIN PHOTOS FROM POLAND? [11]

I was at a funeral here a while ago and people were taking photos, I was not there for the open casket, so I don't know about that.

When I went back to the house the family was showing me old and new photos of birthdays and wedding photos mixed in with funeral photos.

Love / Are (most) Polish unmarried people virgins? [60]

looks like you learnt something for yourself.

Yes,
Sex is over rated but when you are close to someone... that is different.

We all learn for ourselves, that is why we need to communicate, we are born absolutely useless and we listen and learn...

I think this is a silly thread.
