UK, Ireland / Are British people really interested to integrate with Poles? [92]

this is a very good point, my recent girlfriends have all been a different nationality from myself. I haven't gone out and thought 'hhhmm i want a pole this week and the week after an italian' it just seems to have happened like that.

you think?

You can be my practice shot then...

hahaha that would be good too, i told you i'd be falling of my chair, i guess it depends how hard you punch. but i could understand your reaction to a line like the one given above about the shag. It wasn't that i was laughing at it was your reaction :)

Hmm, any guy ever says that to me in a pub he better be used to feeling a fist smashing half his teeth out! :)

dolly i'd love to see you do that, i would pay good money to see you lamp somebody i would fall of my chair with laughter :):):):):)

Interestingly I find Polish men generally more polite than British men, but that could just be down to the men I have met from both nationalities.

Ok then we just got a bad batch down south, my theory is blown totally out of the water :)

my goodness i had so many Americans who just wanted me to continually talk so they could her my 'United Kingdom accent' lol. I didn't mind humoring them as i had to speak anyway.

Although it could be a good thing, some American girls love the accent especially and will even as they say 'date a guy with a cool accent' which was something new to me :)

your stories about poles in UK

hay l isten i haven't got anything against the Polish i mean why would i be here its just a point of view i've built up through my own experiences of the Polish in the UK and from what others have told me

'Can I get... ?'

yes osiol its a very good example of difference in language and culture, in America that is a perfectly acceptable term when ordering something.

hmm sounds Torny that you have some intresting stories to tell, please do tell them.

well a few examples:

When waiting outside a nightclub on numerous occasions a group of Eastern Europeans think that its ok to push all the way to the front and just walk in without no checks or even having to file to the back of the cue. Even when the bouncers tell them you must go to the back they stand there looking shocked like they own the place.

The street is busy and your walking down the high street with a number of friends. Somebody barges past you, you or whoever has been barged out the way turns round and says something and the reply comes back at you in rapid fire Polish, i mean there is nothing wrong with saying excuse me, is there??

My Polish friend wanted to borrow my laptop, his way of asking was to reach over and take it!!!! I mean really that is the definition of been cheeky or rude either one will do.

Getting on a bus or using public transport and you usually try and give the older generation a seat to sit in or leave the ones at the front for them, not the poles or eastern europeans just plonk themselves down and even light up a fag!!!!

all small things but if you don't do them you stick out like a sore thumb. I could give you thousands of examples and yes of course there are rude Brits but i've never seen anything like it since the sudden influx of Eastern Europeans in my city.

of course, I am American, and I know how we are not looked upon favorably by the English. ;)

hay when i went to America i loved it, as soon as they realsied you were from england or the UK they were falling over themselves to be polite and help out in anyway they could. I haven't many bad things to say about Americans at all. I think there are some parts of America that are just truly fantastically weird like some of the deep south, now thats another planet all together :)

Of course you get the American jokes etc but on the whole i don't think the UK has a bad word to say about America unless were talking about politics.

That's fair....I will say the Eastern Europeans I have met were more gentlemanly than the Western Europeans I have met (except for my man, of course....he's a sweetheart) :)

really i am shocked!!! I love the Poles and Eastern Europe for many things but politeness isn't one of the strong points :) Well those in England i suppose i can only speak about as i've only been to Poland once

Life / How much do you HATE POLISH PEOPLE and POLAND [1260]

All I'm going to tell is that the level of chamstwo (coarse behaviour) hasn't changed much since the fall of communism.

are you sure you didn't go to Russia and not Poland?? :) that sounds like Russia, a communist nation living under the name of 'democracy'

Ok i suppose this is on subject, kind of:

to change track a little i want to talk about a situation i find sometimes with Polish people, its something i've never really understood and never asked them about.

I have had a number of Polish friends who have been really nice and polite, good to spend time with, friendly and good friends in the bargain. Sometimes however i find that they all of a sudden become very paranoid, either about the situations they are in or something i may do potentially.

For example there was a girl i knew that was very nervous about letting me come to her house, she had been to my house before there were no problems but when i went round there once she was really nervous and didn't know if she wanted me to go in. I said it was fine and that she didn't have to let me in. The next time i went round it was ok because one of her other friends were there. I asked her why she didn't let me in the first time, i thought it may of been because she felt insecure around me or thought i might try and rob her, rape her hell i didn't know. She told me though it was a big thing in Poland sometimes about letting people into your house.

Another girl i knew once asked me to fix her laptop, i did so with her worrying all the time and she was so unsure whether i was going to do something wrong or mess up her laptop, of course i didn't and it was fixed. however the next day she wanted me to check it again and again. She said hat because it had gone wrong once it made her think it would happen again.

I could go on all night with different examples but i guess my point is, is a trait the Polish have 'being conservative' or 'paranoid'??? or is it in fact that i just happen to have experienced two special cases of deep paranoia??

thanks

T

News / Nazism in Poland - A recipe for mass suicide? [176]

just because the faschists used them it does not make it a faschist act. States in America use the lethal injection, they are not faschist and its the same for other countries that have he death penalty :)

as for getting the scum of the streets etc i don't know who would disagree with that.

So i think you can wrap your irony comment up and put it back in the bag for another day :)

Prison and re-education would be the best option

i'm sorry i still don't agree its soft and weak and works in the eyes of those who take a soft view on life.

people a lethal injection just because they are bad or are being led by fools.

i agree with this to a degree, if not give them the injection they need some serious jail-time and a kind of rehabilitation that they will not want to go back to :)

News / Nazism in Poland - A recipe for mass suicide? [176]

Would it not be better to try and understand them...change their views... then get them on your side.

that is just the kind of wet view that has let the children of the UK get out of hand, gun crimes, stabbings, drunken behaviour etc etc.

over here we are generally fed up of the 'lets understand them line' its about time something was done before it gets out of hand, i.e. the youth of my country.

re-educate.

is only possible in those who wish to be re-educated but i take your point

News / Nazism in Poland - A recipe for mass suicide? [176]

MY impression of Neo-nazi before was just a group of young men making some
noise and no harm or weapons .. apparently its stepped up a bit.

then it needs to be stamped out because if it really gets of the ground now it will be harder to stop in the future when the Neo-nazi's groups world wide combine, you need to get them quick and early with no mercy.

they get punished to the fullest extent for this ( meaning some jail time)

what is the point in having scum like that on the face of the earth, it will just cost the Israeli public money, why not give them the lethal injection or whatever they do in Israel now a days. Its obvious you are not going to be able to change these people in prison so why waste the time and resources on doing so.

Love / Polish blonds are so beautiful [99]

Personally i prefer brunettes to blonds, don't get me wrong they look all sweet and all just a bit airy fairy sometimes, i prefer brunettes on the whole as they seem to have a personality trait that i admire/like.

Love / Are all Polish girls skinny? [85]

OK couldn't help myself here, so before i jump on a plane and go and watch England beat Israel so bad in the football that they will be so embrassed that they will give the land back to Palestine, oops thats another debate all together, i'l leave that for another day :)

However on the subject of all Polish girls been skinny, i can only really speak for the ones who have come to the UK as i've only been to Poland once, it is the view of me and my mates at uni that the girls arrive from Poland nearly all skinny and then are affected by the western lifestyle, e.g. lots of food, laziness, binging etc etc.

Even those girls who pride themselves in being as skinny as a POW put on a few pounds when they have been in England for a year or two. I can say this because i have a number of female polish friends, who since arriving the UK have expanded outwards shall we say. In some cases this is not a bad thing as they were to skinny in the first place. However in others its had a more negative affect on their all round figure.

I'm not really bothered about girls been skinny, slim, average, powerfully built, fat or whatever but i thought i'd add my point of view as usual.

Thanks

T
