Life / The Polish Flag Is White, with red tape! [32]

Oh thats ok then , i am none of them.....I did have to provide proof that i was a good boy in order to buy my farm here , a document from the UK police... My old man was a prison governer , so i was brought up proper , and didn,t do anything too naughty apart from apple raiding.....

Life / Ex-pat experiences Polish medical system. [4]

Same here , smashed my finger , and i have no complaints about my treatment at all... The hospital i went to was rather in need of redecoration and repair , but the staff were very good , and they fixed my finger very well...

anyone else been subject to this?

Jeez what a carry on.... All i did was go to my local government office....show my passport , sign a document...and it was done...I do it every three months , never had any problem like you did , and certainly didn,t have the Police come round to check i was ok , otherwise i would be outa here i am sure.....

UK, Ireland / Polish parents hang themselves at their Lincoln, UK home [66]

very sad . and i think a little selfish...their poor daughter...no matter how bad life was i could never do such a thing when a child is depending on me....There must be so many people who knew them wishing they could have done something to help....very very sad.....

News / Did you heard for Polish tourist-bus tragedy on the road, in Serbia? [12]

Not the first time this has happened to Polish people in a bus in another country....sad news....thoughts are with the families of those who died...and a wish for a speedy recovery for those injured......I hope this is not another too tired bus driver , or a faulty bus....

Love / About Personal Problems (English / Polish relationships) [32]

I don,t think anyone asking for advice blindly follows it...In most cases i think they just want to be told by several people that what they know already , is felt by others to be the case....

Apart from Fireif , who clearly has a problem nobody can solve , most people seem to follow only the advice that fits in with what they want to do anyway.....In my case i just told people what was going on in my new relationship , because so many were interested , when it all went pear shaped i was in no doubt what to do , but it was good to hear what others thought about it....None of you should feel guilty about giving advice....those asking have the choice...to follow it..or not....

History / Operation Market Garden, what went wrong? [68]

It was just a bridge to far......the last bridge ie Arnhem was just too deep into enemy held land , and the time taken to get to the airbourne forces holding the bridge with armoured support was too long....It didn,t help matters that they happened to parachute on top of a waffen ss unit that was in the area for training and refit....Dutch spies had in fact told about this ss unit , but the information was dismissed as unreliable....

History / Operation Market Garden, what went wrong? [68]

A bit off the topic , but not quite....When the first unit of S.A.S were formed to take part in the troubles in Malaya (the S.A.S were disbanded at the end of the war ) the first unit which became 22 S.A.S was formed from ex tank unit guys , ex royal artillary , parchute regiment , and suprisingly ex members of the waffen ss...My old man was among them , being an ex tank guy.....One of the para guys had been captured at Arnhem by the ss , and didn,t take kindly to having them in the jungle with him...needless to say the ss guys didn,t make it into battle...somebody,s gun went off while they were having a wash in a river....

History / Operation Market Garden, what went wrong? [68]

Not forgetting the Polish airbourne forces whose second drop was delayed by bad weather...which meant the Gernmans were waiting for them...fully prepared...they dropped into an ambush...
