News / March of Tolerance in Krakow [478]

Its not what we consider...its what is.

Is it not normal to fall in love? or have sex? to want to spend your life with a person you want to?

What absurd idea?....

That gay people are ill.

Especially as what is considered "normal" is so flexible and changing over the centuries...

Some people are stuck in the dark ages.

Love / Fidelity of Polish women [63]

Whats wrong with girls flirting with other men?

Some men don't like it, in fact I would go as far as to say they hate it, could be insecurity issues or a case of evil thinkers evil doers!

SeanBM

Some people will never come to terms with the fact that some people dont fit in to what they consider "normal".

Do either of you know any gay people? be honest, please.

I doubt it or they wouldn't have these absurd ideas about gay people.

UK, Ireland / All That Manners Business [I'm Polish, moved to UK as an au pair.] [87]

I can safely say that if there is any problem with her relationship with AvJoeUK's mother, the blame is really the mother's. I don't really like to judge anyone I've never met, so it's easier to judge someone I have met. I have met Wyspi, and now I can judge her! (Who am I to get all high and mighty?)

Thats not the issue, slagging your b/f's mother off on a forum that your b/f used to visit is! It's rude and down-right disprespectful. I like Ewi, she's a sweet kid, but I think this thread is, as I have already stated "uncalled" for.

Maybe it's a Polish thing to wash your dirty linnen in public? Or maybe it's just a personal choice?

Life / the responsibilities of the grandparents in Poland [4]

corrdog

Not sure if this helps, but my friend was married to a Greek guy and she couldn't get a red cent off him when they divorced because he was in Greece and she was in the UK, Greece are in the EU.

Hope this helps.

Work / Living on the certain income in Poland [30]

like in any other country. What makes a number of tourists think that things are cheap in Poland is the fact that those tourists do not live there, perhaps...

Poland for a tourist is cheap in comparison to Italy or Spain or even France, but again it depends on which city you visit...I would imagine that this will change though, especially when the euro is introduced.

is not really ok in the GB or the US.

Im going to ask nicely - please don't bracket UK with US...we don't like, at all, :-)

Let me clear something up:

In the UK, we don't ask every tom dick and harry "how are you" that would be just stupid, we may say "good morning" when greeting someone or "hi". "how are you" is generally reserved for someone you know who you haven't seen for a while. We say please and thank you regularly because it's good manners.

Some families sit down to dinner at the table as a family, some families dont.
Some mothers / fathers like their sons / daughters partners some dont...

"Some" is the key word here, it has nothing to do with culture - it's all about the individual.

In the US it's ok to took off shoes in some public and put their stinky feet somewhere near you

That's just rude! certainly not a cultural thing, it's a class thing.

on the other hand some Russians blow their noses into sink which in its turn is not fine in the US

If it's in private, what's the problem? Some people wee in the shower :) Not sure it's a cultural thing, it's just habits people have, like you said Sash, only some Russians blow their noses into the sink.

I think we tend to get mixed up with individuals good / bad habits and cultural customs.

I don't think all English peoplel are bad,

Good boy :)

The above is all I have say on this thread because I think tearing apart the mother of your boyfriend on a forum where said boyfriend used to visit is pretty low..sorry Wyspi, I like you, but this thread is unkind and uncalled for and to be honest I'm quite surprised.

Love / Polish men vs German men: Who is hotter? [513]

southern

Yep just as I remember Czech men, good job the architecture, beer and food make up for it, more than adequately :) I'm also going to point out that fashion doesn't seem to have changed much either :)

But they can march like no others.

And stand to attention when told - ;-)

UK, Ireland / Integrating Polish people into the British society [150]

that there are no spanish living over here and french

There are quite a few Spaniards and French people living in the UK and quite a few Italians, plus Greeks...they just don't come in the numbers that Poles or people from the sub-contitents come from and they seem to integrate into British society more, same as those of your mothers generation that arrived in the 40s and 50s.

Travel / My trip to Poland - I hated Katowice, loved Krakow, and adored Bielsko [59]

We then went onto Kraków, which is an amazing city, somewhat reminiscent of Birmingham...

WHAT THE FCUK! I've been to Brum many times (for meetings I may add not socilaising) and I have been to Krakow...you cannot even compare the two, I don't recall any windy little streets in Brum or did I miss something?

  • Krakow

Love / My polish girlfriend will not leave [47]

The strange thing is that she wont leave, instead she just chuckles and tells me that we will be together forever.....

Maybe she has a nervous laugh?

She says that her family have disowned her because me (interacial relationship) and she even left the one thing I thought she wanted more in the world to do than anything (university) to be with me, but now i am not so sure that all the talk and the plans we had together were not an elaborate ruse.

Sounds like she gave up a lot.

Love / Plastic boobs in Poland [44]

They're not very big are they?

I think me means the babysham glasses...not flutes :)

I've only got champagne flutes in my house and I'm not going to try and squeeze them into one of them

A slight Madonna look?

UK, Ireland / The Orange Order vs Poles...again [37]

its like living with a divorced partner if you know what i mean

That's probably the best analogy of the situation in Ire I've heard.

Era, it must all seem strange to Del Boy to understand having not grown up with it and I suppose people pick out the most extreme aspects, hence focusing in on the Orange Men.

Love / Plastic boobs in Poland [44]

Can they feed their baby with this plastic breast?

Yes, breast implants go under the chest wall muscle :)

Thats a womans point of view

It's my point of view.

Most men if they were honest, would prefer natural.

True, most do, but some are happy with whatever they can get their mits on :)

Love / Plastic boobs in Poland [44]

I think it's down to personal choice and we live in a society where it okay to fix things we don't like and why not? People colour their hair, wear colour contacts, use fake tan, cosmetic surgery is just one step further. Some men like fake some like natural - it's just preference.

News / Should rape carry a life sentence in Poland? [146]

Rapists as far as I understand usually get about 5 years, Jacub brutally attacked and sexually assaulted this woman and left her for dead. Had she not been found he would most certainly have faced a murder charge, which would have carried a life sentense.

But do I think rapist should be behind bars for life - yes I do, they are animals who in most cases re-offend. Ask any woman who has been raped what her quality of life is like after the event, some may exist and get on with it! most struggle and continue to struggle to the day they die. Why should a man just suffer for 5 years?

Another candidate for rusty plier therapy :(

And a fcuking hot poker up his arse, see how he likes sexual abuse!
