Life / Can you keep a right hand drive car in Poland? [57]

back from Poland to the UK for her

Thats quite a ride mate....i rode from UK to Poland on my Harley , so if there is any help or advice i can give i will try to help... My bike was insured in UK and it covered me to ride to Poland...not sure about doing it in the other direction , but i guess it should be easy enough to get it insured in Polska for a trip to the UK....

Life / Should I take my motorbikes to Poland? [14]

biker party in Poland?

A biker party in Poland has a special kind of atmosphere that we seem to lack in the UK , been to a few , and they were great fun , got a few mates that play in rock bands too , so all set for a fun time when the weather gets warm again.....

News / Should we change the rules to let Poles join the British Army? [119]

Can i just mention , that without the help of Polish pilots during the battle of Britain , England would have been really up against it , and Polish units in the British army fought bravley in many battles , Monte casino to name just one....

Life / Should I take my motorbikes to Poland? [14]

Yep , march is usually mild enough for people who are not too much into the Harley way of life and who can still relate to bikers who don,t ride Harleys....Most of my life i rode and raced jap stuff , and my bright yellow sportster bought in december 2001 was my first Harley...i can still remember the looks i got riding the thing around all day in a borrowed leather jacket , and no gloves , bloody freezing , but i loved it , apparently Harley riders don,t do such things , and i could never get into the staying in a hotel thing when going to a rally , no way , a sleeping bag strapped to the bars is good enough for me.....I guess i am not a typical Harley rider , as i am happy to wave to anybody on anything bigger than a moped....I certainly don,t consider Harley riders better than any other breed of biker , its just that a Harley suits my purpose at this time in my life , but inside me there still lurks a ducati 996 rider just dying to get my knee on the floor again....I did 24 years on the track racing bikes , a a fair bit of time in the hospital too , including a go on life support....some people never learn....? When you get your bike over here give me a shout , my farm is a great place for a biker party , and i am one of the organisers of a bike rally here in Poland.....drop in for a beer or three.....

Life / Should I take my motorbikes to Poland? [14]

Hello fellow biker....If the weather does not get too cold , you can find me riding my Harley into october , and maybe even november if i am feeling hard , but i have reached an age where i really don,t enjoy getting cold and wet , and claning all the winter filth off my Harley is a pain... I have a few cars too , so i prefer to leave the bike in the garage when it gets really cold...Poland is a great country for biking , and i can well understand how you miss your bike , i was without mine for six months through the summer when i first moved to Poland , and i felt terrible.......Thankfully i was able to ride it over to Poland the following year.....get on your bike....enjoy Poland...

News / 44 killed, 650 injured in Poland in road accidents during the weekend [32]

don't the roads become oily... or something like that (I don't really know about motoring... still don't have a driving license).

Quite true.....the oil and grease dropped by cars and trucks does not get washed away in a long dry spell.....then a sudden downpour brings it all to the surface.....makes it very slippery.....Maybe all car drivers should be made to ride a bike before they drive a car...they would soon learn all about tyre grip....if they survived they would be better car drivers....

Travel / Places to stay and things to do in Jelenia Góra? [3]

Don.t know much about the town , but i have delivered there a few times..lovely place , lots of hills , and you can see the snow covered mountains not so far away....What to do...? depends on what your tastes are...if you are into pretty countryside i guess you will find lots to entertain , if you are into wild nightlife you might find it a bit sparse...I did see a night club just outside town , but no idea if its any good or not....

Travel / Best way to get from Gdansk Airport to Kolobrzeg [19]

I don,t know about the rail stations in that area , but i have been told that railway stations are not a good place to be hanging around on your own , especially for a lady... They seem to attract some dodgy types , no doubt due to the better chances of finding a rich and possibly easy target..i ...My friend Magda has a brother that lives in Kolobrzeg that could meet you if you get stuck that end , but i suspect you have that covered and the problem may be at the Goleniow end...Goleniow is only an hours drive from my home , so me and my lady could come and make sure you are not stuck on your own till your bus shows up...

Love / My polish g/f can be a nightmare,is it always like this [262]

I think maybe i am just no good at this relationship stuff.

I think any guy is going to have problems making a relationship with her....Don,t despair mate , i too have had some disasters , trying to make it work with somebody that just wasn,t right for me , but i now have a lovely Latvian lady that makes me feel special , warms my heart , and does not do my head in....keep trying , the right person for you is out there someplace , i just think you aint found her yet....

Londonchick.....my car is a bit poorly at the moment , but hopefully i will have it sorted soon....I would be happy to give you a lift from airport to the sea if i am not working at the time.....It sounds as though you won,t really have a problem though....I would hate to see you stranded in a deserted rail station...

UK, Ireland / British car with 3 wheels... [45]

Apart from a few old farts , most people i knew that had one turned the thing upside down at some point....They were very popular among my biker friends because you could drive them on a motorcycle licence ,and you could be warm and dry in the winter...Driven with a bit of enthusiasm , they were very easy to turn over , i was in two that ended up on their backs , thankfully without serious injury....

Love / HOW TO RESCUE MY PRINCESS... Finding a way to get my love to Poland. [34]

You are all such wonderfull people...thank you all...This has all kinda happened in a rush , and she has only a few days to make a decision... She is due to commit herself to another months rent on her room , pay her health insurance etc...She would rather put her money into this great leap into the unknown with me...We are sure we can make it together , but we both have such little money at the moment...Our dream is to be together , and hopefully make a home here so that she can have her children back in her life again...She was forced to leave Latvia to support them after a sad situation with an aggresive husband....Any help i can get to rescue her from Frankfurt would never be forgotton by either of us....I shall pm you dnz , and thank you so much for the offer....watch this space folks....
