Poland is a different country now, things are slowly getting better there. where have i declared myself British, i just live in UK and Polish politics dont concern me or bother me. just cos i dont live in Poland and because i have no interest in its politics, doesnt make me more or less Polish, and definitely not British. everyone knows im Polish and i never hide it.

this poem is anything but racist, i think its very cute and sympathetic towards black people actually. plus at the time its been written it was quite rare to see a black person in Poland, so it was very interesting and fascinating for the kids to hear something about them. at the end it even says that its a shame that we cant have a little black happy boy going to school with us.

its not easy being gay in Poland (I imagine), but you must understand that its a catholic country and people will have a problem with gays getting married or adopting kids. many people there dont quite understand that its none of their business whom you sleep with, and are certain that all gays have AIDS... The president seems to be very homophobic too (Ive read an article about him using images from a gay wedding in USA to "educate" Polish people just how wrong it is)... i dont see things getting better for gays in Poland anytime soon, it is sad.
