Love / Are (most) Polish unmarried people virgins? [60]

I remember when i lived in Lobez for a while i was quite interested in a mig 15 fighter that was on a stick outside the local school that my girlfriend taught at...I was told by many people that local tradition said that when a virgin left the school the plane would fly again...it stood there many years , but last time i went to the town ....the plane was gone..!

Some say it was taken away due to the fact it was a bit loose and liable to fall on somebodies head...others say that it really did fly away , is this a sign that morals are improving...?

send it by moneygramme...its instant.....Someone pays the dosh in at an office in the UK..they send you the code number by text , and you can draw the money at any moneygramme office in Poland....You will need your passport as proof of identity....

Travel / Szczecin -> Bydgoszcz by train....is it sensible and safe? [12]

Hello Tom , welcome to the forum.. I am a Brit who is living in Poland in the region you are talking about...Szczecin airport is actually Golienow , and its not exactly a short walk to Szczecin rail station , although you may be able to get a taxi....If you look on a map you will see its not really near Szczecin...

I am afraid i can,t advise you on how safe it is on the trains as i have never travelled on them but i do know you get some dodgy people around the stations , as you do in any country...

If you are not able to sort something out i am quite happy to pick you up from Goleniow which is about an hours drive from me and take you to Bydgoszcz...just give me a bit of petrol money...

News / The most useless things in Poland [140]

Light fittings in the ceiling seem also to be a problem , is this because all the good electricians have gone to other countries perhaps....?

Life / What to do on All Saint's Day (Nov. 1) in Krakow? [20]

I thought it may be some kind of drink....Perhaps somebody can tell me if this event in the cemetaries on november 1st is a mourning of the dead , or a celebration of the life of a dead person......?

Law / Transferring Money To Poland - how easy/complicated is it? [17]

The monneygramme thing is instant too....takes only minutes for the dosh to transfer from UK to Poland....you will need the code number that is given to the person paying in the money in the UK , they can text this to you , then you will need your passport to collect it in Poland...works just fine....

Life / PAYING TO TAKE A PISS IN POLAND, it's BIZARRE [77]

I don,t think that paying to use the toilet is such a bad thing , unless you don,t have any money on you which can be a bit of a pain...As an Englishman i did find it a little strange at first , but not as strange as walking into a Russian mens toilet and finding a woman in an office opposite the urinals ready to take your money.....

Love / POLISH GIRLS AND LOOSE JEANS [36]

one fashion that i find not at all sexy is the jeans that fit so badly that a girls knickers are visible six inches above the waistline of the jeans....get a pair that fits for gods sake...especially if you have a nice ass.....

Life / Fireworks! Where to buy them in Poland (3-city)? [13]

Be carefull you don,t get the anti terrorist units decending on your house...! Near where i live there is a factory making fireworks , but i don,t know if such places sell to the public....You have to be a bit carefull with this , as it may be illegal to set off fireworks even in your own grounds , as it is in UK , but the police turn a blind eye on bonfire night in UK , and new year in Poland... The first thing is to check if you can buy fireworks before new year , then find out if you can set em off without going to jail.....nice idea if you can get away with it.....might be tempted to have a bonfire party at my farm....
