USA, Canada / a little question about dollar [19]

No, the tax is about 4 / 5 dollars on top so it still works out pretty good for me.

could you tell me what cosmetics do you buy(only if it's not to personal question

I buy Neostrata, which is hard to get over here and pricey....but they have so many different onces its hard to just bulk buy if you dont know what you need...

but cosmetics is a big business and yes it could be good if you get the right product at the right price.

USA, Canada / a little question about dollar [19]

rafik, I suppose it would depend on howmany dollars you have...I would just check daily and sell at the best time, import tax is unavoidable as far as I am aware (i order face creams from the US, since its cheaper but I pay an import tax, I pay $24 dollars for a cream I would have to pay £65 )only sold at specialist places or from my beauty therapist) for so for me I buy in bulk and only pay one import tax...so if you are thinking of buying goods try to buy from one place and order in bult thus not suffering too much loss due to import tax..

USA, Canada / a little question about dollar [19]

Its not a silly question at all, the dollar is good for the English travelling there or Europeans travelling there since we get so much for our Money but on the flip side its not so good for the Americans travelling to Europe...I would say it would be logical to assume that since you are getting less currency in exchange for your Dollar it would be safe to say that you would be able to buy less goods, unless you buy more currency thus spending more so not getting the same value as you might have had the year previous. Hope that makes sense...

Life / Polish Girl Fashion - "less is more"? [108]

sapphire

if you ever get the chance to go to Krakow, the shops are pretty damn good for women and reasonable in price also Wroclaw had some nice shops too.

I did notice your point about the snow washed jeans...I have noticed that in the UK, but not in the two times Ive been to Poland, how strange maybe they get handed a pair on their way through customs!!:)

But like I said the womens clothes are great...

UK, Ireland / We welcome Polish people to Britain! [224]

Do you think that they would like to invade Uk? They could struggle as old English ladies are more busy with bingo, meeting with nice cup of tea, gossiping.....

Lol, you have a good insight into the UK and it's habits...

Life / Dogs in Poland - why do we keep them? [28]

next year, 2007, is the bi - centinary of the abolishon of slavery... and blair is finally acknowledging shame and sorrow for the role the uk played in the abominable trade...

Read your god damn history before you start putting the British down, I personally dont think he has anything to apologise for, it was a long time ago.

History Lesson for you

The European countries involved in the Transatlantic Slave Trade spanned the whole range of European powers who sought imperial or trading expansion in the Atlantic, beginning with the Spanish and Portuguese, later the Dutch, and finally the French and the British.

He would do better apologising to the Native Americans and the Aboriginies....

UK, Ireland / We welcome Polish people to Britain! [224]

It depends on what you're looking for out of life. Yes there are lots of Polish in the UK and now would be a good time to come in order to get all your paperwork in order just in case they start to limit the amounts emmigrating to the UK

Life / What's the weather like in Poland? [81]

I'll be on holiday in the Czech Rep. (Czarna Hora-Janskie Laznie) for a week in Jan.

you'll love Czech Rep., Janskie Laznie is a spa town, go have some treatments, they are brilliant and expect 5 start treatment for budget prices, spent some time in Karlovy Vary this year which is one of the most famous spa towns in Czech and loved it..

Not sure what snow you'll get for snow boarding though, I would say late Jan early Feb is best time for skiiing over there.

UK, Ireland / Heavy drinking culture in the UK - is it still the same in Poland? [69]

Yet another prog on t.v. tonight "booze britain" its shocking cant people go out without acting like idiots.

With regards to Iwona's point about Krakow I saw no drunks on the streets there it was very pleasant the the couple of drunks I saw in Wroclaw were harmless enough and I didnt feel threatened.

I think the point is some women in the UK are behaving like bloody animals when they're out they are showing us up and I dont honestly see a solution to it.

Travel / Need cheap ticket to Warsaw/Berlin from Toronto! [24]

budget flights are not so budget since there are lots of Polish peeps going home for Xmas, an alternative would be a coach from the UK but it takes something like 2 days...thats how my friend is travelling since the flights were about 300 quid from manchester / liverpool coach is about 50 quid, they live about 50k from Gdansk so it might be quicker to Warsaw.

try

True, but I dont think half of it is neccessary the scousers were singing crude songs really loud and there was a really gross looking one with them who was bragging about how much sex he'd been getting off Polish girls - I just thought the beer in Poland is strong but it's never going to be strong enough for an ugly biffer like you to get laid!!

Love / Why are polish girls more approachable than north american girls [158]

but we have evovled and no longer need to go with the "animal instinct" self-control should be the order of the day, women have sex drives the way they have because of the need to procreat and the more you do it the better the chance the more children, but that isnt neccessary these days, also Aids is on the rise and so are other sexually transmitted deseases in the UK, they have re-introduced the Aids adverts, updated versons of the ones that were out in the early 80is which is quite scarey..

I sound like a right prude, Im not, I just think that women and men are different and should behave differently in that department, it will never be acceptable for a women to sleep about, she's never going to be the girl a guy takes home to meet the parents if she's the local bike.

Love / Getting engaged! I'm 18, he's 28. WOW [72]

yeah...definitely not recommended for mariage material. I'm sure the other women would agree.

my father would have locked me up and thown away the key if I was even dating at 15...let alone a bloke that much older.

Personally I think she's just attention seeking and is making it all up.

Actually they were Scots - all wearing kilts - oh and some scousers being loud and acting up, it was quite funny because they were all in their 30is apart from a couple who looked in their very early 20is who were in fact ashed of their older travelling companians...lol

Life / Polish people have low self-esteem? [80]

I am such a great guy that I would never intimidate someone showing his weak side

We have names for people who do that "bully" and bullys are weak people they hunt in packs and dont have backbone.
