Language / What do you find difficult about learning Polish? [98]

Hungarian has a slightly more regular pronounciation and uniform syllable stress than Polish, but, frankly, that's about it. LOL

I just found the pronunciations easier - I speak neither to any kind of conversational level btw..

Love / Love my polish girlfriend alot but under pressure from family [166]

i seperate religion from the culture. stupid culture and traditions people make up themselves.
The religion does not state you should have arranged marriages, infact that is a grave sin if someone is forced to marry.
Nowadays people just care about the honour and respect, they dont see how it is affecting their childrens life.

Well said, but how do you see things changing for the better in the future?

UK, Ireland / Poland&Algeria in UK [19]

They may give you a hard time, but it's not against the law, that's the difference between the countries you mentioned and Algeria.

Anyway, her post was months ago, hopefully she met someone else and is living happily :)

UK, Ireland / going to uk to look for a cad job - are there any left? [21]

It's common knowledge that they do this sweety....I'm not sure about the legalities, but it's just marketing and as Shawn said, it's a way bulking out their D/base and getting fresh candidates on the books.

Love / My Polish boyfriend and his drinking habit. [60]

Im not talking about drinking and I wasn't specifically aiming the "women" comment at Polish women it was women in general, it was also about behaviour and lack of respect for others in general.

Probably yes but he may be affected by something like SAD, who knows?

He'd be affected with a large baseball bat if he manhandled me and told me to clear his sick up ;-) We just have to face facts Seanus, some men are just arseholes...

UK, Ireland / going to uk to look for a cad job - are there any left? [21]

i would like to get info from poles living in uk if there are still jobs to be found. i am doing cad and not thinking of doing manual labor

Who knows, but since you're not in the UK it's highly unlikely you're going to get a CAD job here, it's not that specialised that they would consider you for a position whilst you are in a different country.

In fact I'm not living in UK at the moment but still looking for another job. It is difficult to find job by remote because you have to be available immediately for interview. You have to take competition into consideration too. They won't wait for you. The best way is to take any job in UK and then continue to apply for dream job.

True. But the "any" job category isn't as easy to get these days...

Language / The only polish word a foreigner won't ever say correctly :P [113]

I like to learn more about polish culture but why ppl like to say only kurwa?

It must be the affect you have on them, personally I've not really come across it ;-)

Actually the hardest word I found was: Przepraszam, my "teacher" was so proud when I finally managed it...actually I think relieved is probably the right word, it meant we could move on to other words :)

Love / My Polish boyfriend and his drinking habit. [60]

Here's a bit of a suggestion, when he goes to sleep after one of his "heavy" nights, hit him really hard with a blunt object...if he wakes in the morning with bruises and pains, he'll never know how he got them...Simples!!!

Love / Polish women are known for their beauty, but men are so ugly (most of).. [250]

I also agree that young women from the Uk and other western countries have become so overweight it is hard to see their real beauty, and behave more like men than women,

This isn't about English women and their chubby thighs and binge drinking :) Or about the beauty of Spanish women...

Love / Love my polish girlfriend alot but under pressure from family [166]

Shelley, if you think every little religious Christian girl will be able to marry some drugged up, alcoholic, rock star without their parents disowning them, you're sorely mistaken. Maybe you don't come into contact with some of these "backwards" Christians, but they are alive and kicking.

Agreed, no parent would want their precious daughting marrying some scumbag, I don't quite understand your point. My point is, Pakistani women are forced into marrying a close relative and we in the West can marry who we like. Oh just one more thing, if said daughter did marry a sumbag, then they wouldn't be murdered because of the shame brought on the family.

Scale is certainly an issue, I agree, but I don't know where the west would be had they colonized us (I'm talking specifically about Pakistanis because that is what you mentioned...though I fear you used that only as a derogatory term for him). Sixty to seventy years after American independence and we weren't doing so hot either...

Regarding Pakistan, they are still considered a developing nation, how many years after gaining independence? How many years down the line will they still be considered a devleoping nation - 20, 30, 40, 50 always...who knows! Poverty same as in India is a problem, basic human needs are a problem, greed and corruption in both countries is a problem, human life is worth so little and human rights are zero....A country so fragmented will struggle to truly be considered a devloped country.

I just noticed something, you didn't actually try and compare independece in Amercia with that of Pakistan? If so I think you need to have a serious think about what you wrote, Amercia became Independent over 200 years ago, of course they had some way to go...Pakistan gained independence 60 years ago, they should have been more or less a developed country then, let alone now!

Love / Love my polish girlfriend alot but under pressure from family [166]

Some of our practices with shoes (like pointing them in the direction of elders or stepping on books) are "backwards" to them.

Pointing is rude, but not backwards, stepping on a book could be done by accident and I can't see how this could be seen as "backwards". We don't have "elders" in western society, each family has it's own "rules" outside interference isn't practiced!

but I wouldn't consider it "backwards" considering plenty of Catholic or other sects of Christianity might follow same rules if they are strict or conservative enough.

Wrong, Catholics are not forced into marring someone they do not want to, in the west we have what we call "choice".

First of all, that's not "backwards",

Yes it is, they still believe that marrying your first cousin is okay, they still believe that forcing a girl to marry said first cousin is perfectly fine. They believe that if said girl doesn't want to marry said first cousin it's okay to murder her because she has "shamed" the family. Now if a male asian wants to cavort around Europe drinking, eating none halal and shagging european women as he goes...that's just fine...oh as long as when he returns he marries one of his cousins from pakistan!....The guy who started this thread is just having a fling whilst he is a student in a foreign country, he has no intention of making any long term plans with this girl...He is a dirty low life, but then again she's just stupid for getting involved with someone of his kind!.

I dont see a lot of that in Poland.

Neither did I, I have mention this before - the dross and smellies came to the UK...Obviously there must be a few exceptions but in general they're all a bit ratty looking and could do with a good scrub down.

That hurt almost as much as my armpit after having a good fart.

lol - how old are you ;)

And the speed and quality with which she fulfils my demands, thats about right :-)

From what I hear about Polish women, Im sure it is the speed you ask "how high" when she says jump :)

Thats only because we forget to belch and armpit-fart on the first dates.

I wouldn't imagine there being a second date if someone did that in my presence! ;)

The fact is that hygiene is a must but going to a solarium ? Metrosexuality is fucked up.

I couldn't agree with you more - go forth and spread the word amongst your countrymen :) As for mentrosexuals and sunbeds, I think woman who are actually attracted to those types are in a minority.

ps-maybe polish guys arent made up,manicured, fashion educated, etc etc...thats becase they are MEN and not gayboys made to order to satisfy a subsection of the gay-feminist alliance that rules mediaworld hollywood and fashinworld and decides who is good looking or not...
go to the gym eat healthy read books think high live humbly...and stay happy....

Yeah but not showering and dressing in camo pants with matching smelly jacket isn't going to attract the ladies now is it?

Youre bang on sweet heart british guys have gay fevour. Where the fcuking men these days lifting weights? boxing? pumping iron/ theyre all hiding behind mummy.

BTW - You just called a bloke sweet heart! Isn't that a bit gay? As for men going down the gym and boxing, plenty do, if they can spend 4 nights down the gym, surely they can take pride in other areas of their appearance? Nothing gay about it, it's call taking pride in ones self.
