I respect you brate Les and i respect all others here- my Slavic brothers and brothers in Christ

but, you must understand that i speak as St. Sava`s Orthodox.

Pope John Paul II who was Polish, had far batter chances to re-unite Catholic and Orthodox Churches then current Pope- who is maybe German or even more, who possible originates from germanized Slavs. How could i (speaking about muself) trust to him? If nationality isn`t important why is Benedict a German?

I understand. Its all right, Ebon.

But, by same logic- why would any Christian (even Orthodox or Protestant) disregard the Pope simply because he is German and even no matter all misunderstandings between Churches. On the other side, why would any Catholic react with prejudices on any representative of Orthodox or Protestant faith.

That goes for true Christians, true believers in Christ and salvation.

Unfortunately, there are people ready to manipulate wuth feelings of people. That is reality of politics. What i want to say is that, any advantage of hostile opponent in politics can be fatal for eventualy targeted population or society.

After all, that was one of the reasons why Protestantism was born. Then, in Orthodox Church you have togather with one universal Orthodox Patriarch, many more Patriarch`s of different national Churches.

well, in comparison with time of Sobieski, Poland today don`t have her own politics on Balkan but, listen this, helping USA to strengthen German-Turkish position.

and, yes- while it was Russia, Serbs were able to do something for Poland (consult Prince Chartorisky database) and i can inform you that USA don`t give a sh** what Serbs feel for Poland.
