News / What needs to happen in the world so that Poland and Russia form alliance? [297]

At the moment, I think Russia would like for Poland to admit they started WWII and aknowledge our insane resistance to Russia's great efforts to bring peace and prosperity to all the workers in the world.

I wouldn't take those sentiments of Russian government as somewhat of serious accusations which need admitting. This is more about self-defense and bury the issue of for instance Katyn under the ash of demagogy. "The best defense is an offense.

I don't think they can ever forgive us for stopping them in 1920 from flodding Europe

And I think you shouldn't have put it as "they" as if bolsheviks were/are the most accurate reflection of Russian society.

What will it take? Brave Serbian heroes coming to Poland and engaging in their traditional hobbies (genocide and ethnic cleansing)

Isn't your father Serbian by any (mis)chance?

and the country then being repopulated by Russians.

We can't even repopulate our own land.

Ruskies: pashol von, sobakhee

sobakhee is plural form of a dog, thus you should have used "poshli" form of the verb. "Poshli von, sobakee" is correct.

Good point. I can't share other ones I'm afraid...
I also wonder what should Poland alter in her current state to make the alliance real?

Love / Why are more Polish girls marrying Americans? [77]

Also, you seem to assert that Hollywood only celebrates the rich

Hey, bud!
No, I don't. I'm not saying that American movie makers produce crap only. Moreover most of films I like are American ones. The crux of my notion was not to evaluate the American movie or show business industry on the whole but to show that the American TV shows and films were the lion share against the background of the whole Russian (or any else) TV.

The problem is that old Russian or Polish babushka's may tell you "okejushki" instead of "dobro" which is largely used as a theme to laugh at by Russian humorists.

Honestly, I find this whole "empire" and "brain washing" notion fairly amusing especially when espoused by someone educated like yourself

Thanks for kind words even though I think I didn't mention any "empire"-stuff at the time. Yet I do believe we are both "empires" and both our governments do "brainwashing" which is indispensable if you want to have an empire - it's like a glue to stick people of different nationalities and different turn of minds together, to rally them around one idea. And at that point I find the US very similar to Russia, which I've already said for many times.

Who forces you to watch and believe in these movies?

True. I understand what you're saying and largely share that, but... You can't speak on behalf of all American, neither can I on behalf of the Russians. Honestly I doubt we can go as people with a typical mindsets respectively American and Russian one. In fact the main purpose of the government is to win over the mass not particularly you or me. We've got a commonly used saying: "odin v pole ne voin" which may be literally rendered as "one man in the field is no warrior". I believe you won't argue the fact that mass is strongly affected by media and we can't actually blame them for that nor we can label them "stupid" or something, since they do not basically have a choice. The standard day of many Russians and Americans is "sleep-work-watch TV set", thus their perception of the world deeply depends on the info they're being fed with. Speaking for myself I can't say I'm free of stereotypes either. I'm to some extent affected as welll...

And I will probably say it again... I do not evaluate those TV programs, whether they're good or not. Some are obviously good, some are not (I btw love your discovery and animal planet channels, I even ordered them here in Russia to be able to watch them while I am at home). My point was that worldwide promotion of one nation alters the cultural vector of another ones.

Russian how stupid they are but the American doesn't really subscribe to Hollywood's "pie in the sky" sentiment

No need to listen to them, since they are stupid themselves if they go on such a generalization.

Do you think life is easier in the States?

I would say it's just different. What I can say for sure is that you've got a lot more opportunities for personal growth. For instance in Rus-Amer company I work for - direct employees can take an additional education for free (the company pays), a few take the advantage of the opportunity though.

I'm not saying life in the US is easy.

do they dilute it with kerosene or something?

I believe it's caused by breaching of prescribed refining technics or outdated refine technology.

that diesels make a horrific noise

That's true. I recently drove through south Germany, rented VW golf diesel there... Noisy!! :)

when you start them in the morning and fill pedestrians lungs up with carcinogenic soot

I heard diesel engines were more eco-friendly.

I just kept my wheels in a shocking state thus putting people off stealing them...

I'm afraid that won't help you in Russia. :) Rim locks don't always help.

frankly I was worried that I would find the car on bricks somedays.

Everybody uses rim locks here. Unless you have them I strongly recommend you to keep an eye on your car.

Looking forward to the update, i've always fancied driving to the ukraine, How is the BMW coping with the poor quality low octane fuel there? Mine was always quite fussy and ran badly if i put poor quality fuel in although I assume the knock sensor will rectify any differences in the octane?

In Russia it mostly concerns quality of diesel. That's the main reason why I still don't have a car with a diesel engine.

Love / Why are more Polish girls marrying Americans? [77]

Dictatorship because they speak English? C'mon the US doesn't impose loss of culture on them. English is just the Lingua Franca at the moment. Just like French was.. people didn't become French in the 1800s, adopt everything French, etc.

No, because they promote their lifestyle worlwide. Language is a consequence.

Hollywood is a small element to American life..

I guess you won't argue the fact that nowadays television has a strong impact on people's mindset. Willy-nilly everybody watches it. Nor you're an exception. Now imagine Russian or Polish kids watching all day long American films, programs, news... Do you still think it won't affects their identity, their natural mindset?

You have to ask yourself, why people are so eager to believe in these films. Maybe that's the bigger question.

It's always easy to believe in things which are easy. That could make people live with a strong believe that applying no efforts you would end up with standard "happy end" anyway.

If you knew how Russian or Polish old films differed from the American ones, you would understand me.

Love / Why are more Polish girls marrying Americans? [77]

anger_lodz

Here are some of my thoughts:

- Americans travel a lot and have relatively large population which increases chances to run into an American if a gal picks out from foreigners...
- There's a stereotype in many countries (especially in ones with a mediocre economy) you marry foreigner=you marry a wealthy man, besides it's considered exotic and might draw envious looks of other females...

- Many Poles travel to the US for money... why not hubby at the same time? Reconcile duty and pleasure... Why not?
- The relationships between Poland and the US aren't really bad on the governmental scale. That affects people too.
- Americans have the largest cinematography and show business industry. The vast majority of films you watch produced in the US, they logically paint life and people in the US better than they are, they implant to one's mind the seed of "American dream" and lifestyle in general. I don't mind that as long as people realize what is going on. Half the battle for Americans is won by their government.

Do you want Poland to go back to some communism dictature?

oh wait... dictature is a dictature, no matter which adjective goes in front. You can't really say which one's finally would be better for you since you can't always assess its impact on yourself. Note the last item I listed above. Slowly but surely other countries lose their identity under the powerful dictatorship ("democratic" dictatorship if you want) of the US. First and foremost it concerns small European countries with uncommon languages like... Sverige btw, your native land. Have you ever thought of why you have to learn English, not that they have to learn svenska språket? Let's be honest your language is a way more beautiful and if you had the same resources (financial mostly) that the US does, kids all around the world would say "hur står det till" instead of "how're you". So eventually the fact that you put "communism" in front is no other than proof of that "democratic" soft, gentle dictature worked out well. You'll see... in another 10-20 years there will be another kind of dictature which would throw the mood into nowadays democratic values, totally dethroning it... and it wouldn't be about progress, it would be about going round in a circle.

P.S. I do not hate Americans, the US will always stay in my heart like "second Russia" overseas. I just don't want people to lose their identity and origins, don't want people to lose something I like them for, as much as selfish that sounds... I've always said "Poles be Poles", "Germans be Germans", "Swedes be Swedes" etc. I love you the way you are.

Border guard took $30 fine for no insurance (ripp off), should not have paid

Did you finally buy the insurance? I can't say you for sure about Ukraine but in Russia you'll have to buy it. Again... the fine for not having the insurance - 800 rubles (in case you never bought it), 100 rubles (in case you've got it but forgot at home).

Please post here about your adventures in Russia... :) I'll do my best to help you with an advice.

Used my BMW 523i with ultra low profile tyres (18 inch Alloys)

This spring I drove to Helsinki through St. Petersburg on 15 inches disks. I was like "God damn this road I'll never drive there again". Now I've got summer 17 inches OZ racing disk and I don't even think of driving there. What I want to say is that 18 inches are good for Europe or for big cities in Russia but they're hardly acceptable for highways far away from cities, unless you're a sluggish driver. You take risks... My friend recently drove his bmw with oval tires didn't notice the dimple on the road tore the tire and crushed the disk. Thankfully there was a repair-shop not so far...

News / RUSSIA IS TO POLAND WHAT TURKEY IS TO SOUTH SLAVS [66]

I separate Shriptars from other balkan folks because they origin from Caucasus and were living for centuries isolated in mountains so they developed a totally different mentality very distinct.

You bet. I never mentioned them. I should have probably been more specific... my bad. Even their language is unique and forms the separate language group where only Albanian is. Quite ironic... One group and one language inside of it. "Who wants to deal with us? First country gets 50% discount for any drugs..."

Ancient Macedonia was part of greek civilization, they were not Slavs.

If I personally had to mark any officially non-slavic nation as Slavic Greeks would be the first in my hypothetical list. I've met them in Balkans and didn't really notice the difference in behaviour between them and other Balkan people. This was certainly my own impression which I don't want you guys to be seen as any sort of rule.

EDIT: Religion and location after all matter.

History / PIŁSUDSKI & BANDERA? [11]

It's all about every bird likes its own nest. If one does something to the benefit of one's own country (at least in the short-run) and most of people believe it, he automatically becomes a hero and treated as a hero.

I've recently run onto a group in one social network which was called "let's Russianize western Ukraine" and I could hardly restrain my indignation. What if those Russians who initiated the group imagined for a second same rhetoric on the Ukrainian part? What would be their reaction like? Meanwhile they accurately have as many rights to Russianize Ukraine as Ukrainians do to Ukrainize Russia. Unfortunately people tend to think within the scope of stereotypes and can hardly challenge them. That's the problem.

Neither of those people in fact was a hero. Anybody knows that Pilsudki had plans to cut off the lion's share of Russia?

Ahojushki, prijatel!

You are a bookworm Russian.

Against the background of yourself it sounds more like a compliment. Thank you, Johny! :)

I can tell that.

I'm sure you can tell a lot more but do I really need to buy your bull? :)

Comfortable in front of a chessboard or computer but a worm in the street.

At least I don't go on these idle talks about who is who in reality. :) I made a point on why your views were narrow-minded and deserved the description "stupid" in front, you however failed to decently respond going instead on the name calling. Indeed very Christian (Catholic Faith) of you!!! :) Keep it up!

We can't say for sure here who's worm in a life, but we can say who's worm in front of a computer.

Pink.
My post #8 is not arrogant, you didn't even understand why I referred to it which is alright for English-speaking expat from Czech Rep.
As for #31... yes... I shouldn't have put it that way, I should have just ignored your message as it doesn't deserve a whit of attention. You might wanna ask why. I'm now being so kind and of course arrogant that I both predict and answer it:

1) You generalized Russian women, which automatically paints you both intellectually lightweight and arrogant. I wouldn't have said that ever about any nation on this planet. You did, I did not. As simple as that. Is this your definition of arrogance? I was just being honest to you... :)

2) I bet you can't distinguish Russians from Ukrainians or Belorussians or any other Russian speaking people.

3) You were simply unlucky but in your case I believe it was well-deserved... From what I see you dated prostitutes and couldn't have expected anything else.

I don't even want to quote your gibberish or educate you on what women are...

met a loooooot of hetero men needing the doctor to procreate dude... dont just talk our of ur a.r.s.e

See... you so carried away with your "gay-is-normal"-defending that didn't even notice how you admitted they were not normal. Sweety, those who need a doctor to procreate are ill... more or less.

Once again: I'm not homophobic, homosexuals are part of any society. The only things I said was that they were ill. You've quoted me for 1000s times obviously because you've felt your counterarguments didn't have legs to stay on.

why is bad?

This is either rhetoric or tremendously foolish question. Pick what you're up to. I'll only ask: do you wanna HIV to develop?

then you are totally ignorant in regards to the nature of homosexuality

Oh yes... yes please... oh no... you said nothing again. That reminded me of my good old times in kindergarten:

Pasha (Pavel): Ti durak! (You're fool)
Sasha (Alexander): Net, ti durak! (No, you're fool)

:)

Sasha:
Pls feel free to "tear apart my pathetic argument".

It's already been done:

Oh yes... you've beaten me again. :)) 2:1

If you can grasp this very simple fact,

It's not simple, moreover it's not a fact. :)

Disability naturally occurs in humans yet disabled people are catered for and not ostracized. Why should gay people be treated diferently? Gay can't be cured, believe me, I know plenty of gay people who wish they weren't. Multiple Sclerosis can't be cured. When someone is diagnosed, should they then be "localized"

You don't seem to catch my concept of localization. Homosexuality may or may not be treated... (I wouldn't assert either of those). What the hell does it have to do with my point? MUltiple sclerosis as well as HIV is not treated too but they're anyway go to doctor and make the quality of their lives better. Your illness may be incurable, that doesn't make you healthy.

It's a ridiculous notion.

It is. But I didn't say that. You said. :)
Sasha

Life / Openly gay in Poland [245]

I have used the concept of disability to illustrate why the "localization" of homosexuality is a ridiculous notion.

And I showed the weak spot of your concept. Nobody wants to be blind, deaf, legless. Everybody knows that it's an impairment. Nobody says "it's alright". Other people are trying to help disable, support them, help them, cure them. Children won't grow up blind, deaf or legless just because they've seen such people on TV. Did you get the difference? Did you finally understand where the problem was? Do not say it is normal, do not promote homosexuality. :) That's it. Just read and comprehend.

I'm ok with treating them as disables... just don't say being deaf is soooo gay! :)

he's said countless times that the case was of homosexuals having a kid, i put it in simple words, man goes to doctor, man leaves sperm, doctor puts it in woman belly, man and woman have child...That does not make the Homo man bi...

Do you need further comments or highlited spots are enough for you? :) Doctor, sweety... doctor... and a woman... surrogate mother. The healthy man needs none of those.

Zacha:
If people have an issue with homosexuality then they are probably stupid, confused, uneducated or religious.

Quite.

It could fit homosexuals too. :)
Sasha

Life / Openly gay in Poland [245]

Yet a homosexual who decides to procreate (but actually has a preference for d1ck) is not ill at all.

You may play with words as long as you want. That can't change the sense of my initial notion. The one who's really homosexual (male) can't say if he wants women or not. It goes without saying. He doesn't. The problem about the real homosexuality is that it can generate among the youth (first and foremost) cases of the "fake homosexuality" when people want to be homosexual simply because it's a fashion (which was promoted by countless gay-parades and people like you who says it's normal).

As the above stated concept has ruined his argument totally, it leaves him with no rational justification for his backward homophobia.

I am not homophobic. :) Which I actually proved in my very first statement. Care to disprove? All you've done so far is going on name calling and trying to twist my points so that they may fit your delusional posts. I see your hysteria. Pls feel free to "tear apart my pathetic argument". I'm all ears.

Ouch.
Sorry about that, Sasha.

No problem. Alexander is a full name, Sasha is a diminutive in Russian. Probably "Olek" in Polish. :)

Conclusion: Sasha is a she-male?

You're discrediting now your mostly smart nation.

P.S. Quantity guys doesn't mean quality... You may draw here the whole international gay community. Would that make you sound any more convincing?

But a homosexual could of course choose to have a child with a women

Do you understand the difference between "homo-" and "bi-"? C'mon it's your native tongue.
"Bi-" is a different story but bisexual society is weirded to extinction too.

I think sasha doubts a bit on his sexuality

That's a quite usual statement once you realize you've got nothing else to say. Btw why can't I really be gay myself???

But as you're clearly a little bit simple I'll let you off.

Let the history judge who's simpleton. :)

M-G (read and weep)

MG, I know that majority (not the vast though) of nowadays doctors officially doesn't consider homosexuality illness. And?..
At least I'm glad you cared to open wiki on this question.

But you are a sheep, dont you see? that is just communist-soviet thinking at its most!!

I don't. Any back up or you simply didn't get the sense of the word "sheep" in the context? The cliche you used (about communist-soviet thinking *here I'm glad you knew those two words*) doesn't make you point any more clear either.

It is logical, see? you claim that homosexuality is a desease cause it blocks the reproduction (a natural process)

Excuse me are one of two who are under 18? Do you feel the difference between "I cannot" and "I do not want"?

And saying that everyone who does not fit in the ideal world because they are different is sick, has a disability or should be beaten up is just a regression to the place where we come from.

Thank you for words. :)) Now please prove me the contrary (id est this is not an illness). Still waiting...

Similarly, I also advocate the localization of disabled people. Disability isn't normal, it's an illness

You can't equal those things. If one doesn't have a leg then we say (s)he has a physical impairment and nobody wants one's not a gaudy lot. Whereas being gay is mistakenly and I suspect deliberately considered normal. Here's the difference.
Sasha
11 Aug 2009
Life / Openly gay in Poland [245]

Ít has never been proven, its not proven, so its not an illness.

Brilliant sentence!!! Now try to find there a whit of logic.
Firstly if one thing wasn't proven right, doesn't necessarily mean it's wrong.
Secondly, what it is if not an illness if it prevents people to procreate and adapt? :)

so why not tolerate someone who prefers a d.i.c.k in his a.s.s when he is in the privacy of his home...

It does not concern me at all what he does with his a.s.s does it to you?

That's none of my business of course. But I'll never tolerate those people who proclaim sticking a dick to one's ass normal. Do you understand me now? So yes pls do whatever you want in your house but don't spread it worldwide neither say it is normal, because that may affect psyche of those who're not sick so far.

Behind all that crap about being tolerant (it's crap because most of people are tolerant... pls don't confuse it with being ignorant) people forget to mention the crucial thing. Being gay is not normal.
Sasha
11 Aug 2009
Life / Openly gay in Poland [245]

Well just treat them like human beings(what they are)

That doesn't clarify anything. :)

I've never said "dirty sods" or anything like that, I've never stupidly giggled while see them on streets, I've never put a slight on them while talked to them which would probably paint me as tolerant in your eyes.

Yet I consider homosexuality an illness that can develop and therefore should be localized. The quickest way to localization is to stop talking about that as if it is normal, whereas it's not. The second part I guess automatically makes me intolerable caveman who has a long road of evolution in front to be covered. :)

Did you get my point now?

And by the way we do not consider easterners as savage...

Thank you. That merely sounded quite arrogant.
