there are also people who try to skip the queue and as soon as they see a pregnant woman, get ahead of her. i mean: wtf? it`s especially older women who think: `when i was pregnant no one let me go first or let me sit down blah blah` and now they want revenge.

But other than that, walking around in the street is no pleasant stroll. I'm black so people just grill the life out of me no matter what, and if I hold my polish girlfriend's hand they even point sometimes or shake their heads (older people mostly.). In New York people would stare at me, but then if I would stare back they would look away, not to be rude. But here, even when I stare back they continue to stare, they just don't stop. Also, people are rude because they don't say thank you or excuse me (they do but rarely compared to New York and other parts of Europe.) I've been pushed around a lot, I've stood in line at the grocery store and have had people trying to skip ahead of me.

my partner is also black and he was feeling uncomfortable when people were staring at him (us actually) all the time. i got sick of it and when we went to visit krakow i started making faces at people who were staring at us and guess what, they immediately looked away. lol

Maybe the reasons were racist, but I don't think that the fact that the victim is of Polish descent should be highlighted as racism is not solely aimed at Polish ppl, but generally at any person not local or native. I would rather state that it's a MAN who got attacked by a gang of losers, a person just minding his own business and then gets attacked.

i agree. i mean after all, the polish guy wasn`t wearing a t-shirt saying `I`M POLISH, FEEL FREE TO ATTACK ME` :)

I often hear about these anti-foreigner skinheads, especially from Katowice, but I have never run into any such people which makes me question just how prevalent it is

yep, a lot of those dumb sad little skinheads out there. i was born in katowice, raised in gliwice and i`ve seen those ugly beasts out there. not nice at all. i wish they`d all become extinct or just get plain kicked in the nuts by a bunch of punkers or even africans. i would actually like it to be put on national television around the world so that everyone could see it. i would get my pop corn ready and salted!

hehe a good cup of tea is a cure for everything :P

i used to work in a cafe/diner in BT centre in london as a catering assistant and there was one british girl of jamaican ancestry there. she was as hard working and dedicated as the rest of us (mind you the rest of us = polish) BUT she was never given any job that was too hard. for example, she never had to serve any food from the hot buffet counter while sweating like a catholic nun in the middle of sahara (not that you can find those there but imagine). but as i said before, the jobs she was given, she was doing perfectly and wasn`t lazy at all.

i also worked in a restaurant during very busy christmas time 2005 (loads of corporate christmas parties going on) together with some other waitresses (a few polish, one estonian and one danish) and we got a south korean young lad to help us out with the incredible workload. the lad has NEVER in his life worked before. whilst we were on our feet for 12 hours a day, constantly running around like some crazy chickens being chased for chicken soup, carrying masses of plates, stressed out about getting the orders right, he wasn`t doing much of helping, hardly any running at all and was comepletely worn out after about 4 hours.

what an absoloute insult , i'd like to know who built our magnificent buildings before any pollocks came here , go back to your own dump of a run down mess that is poland and build that up because people don't want them here in fact the vast majority of british people never asked for this and are not happy with the situation , if it was so bad here and the people were work shy then why is poland such a **** hole ?

lol i was just quoting someone who works with british and eastern/central european construction workers so he can compare. he is british himself btw, a hard working british individual. i`m not saying that all of you are lazy and useless.

are a form of lumpy gristle you get in your nasel passeges. Polaks are male Polish people.

lol good one

Youve got it again in about 12/13 years though...:)

lol, true. i don`t think about it now though. but then again i didn`t think about the sleepless nights when i was pregnant either, didn`t think back then that it would be so difficult. now he`s almost 14 months and running around the house like crazy going into every cupboard and drawer so the main concern is his safety. when he`s a rebellious teenager, we`re gonna have to put some discipline in place :P mainly i want to teach him respect for women. oh gosh, i could talk about parenthood on and on but i`ll better stop before the message board falls asleep :P

Ok, i have some questions for the ladies on this forum who are completely against abortion. Let's say you just got raped. Would you actually keep the baby??? If so, why? Morals? Would you ever tell your child in the future?

it`s a very hard question cuz it`s hard to imagine the pain associated with being raped let alone being raped and gotten pregnant as a result of that. personally, i THINK i wouldn`t keep the baby even though as i said before having a child is probably the greatest thing in the world but having it as a result of a brutal rape, that`s a different story. when you have a child your world turns 360 degrees and i mean literally 360 degrees. life changes comepletely so it`s good to have the father of your child with you so that you can cope with that major change together. i really feel sorry for single mothers and fathers out there cuz it`s hard when there`s one child + the two of you, but there are women/men out there left alone with a bunch of kids to raise. it`s not easy. raising by yourself a child that was a result of a rape makes it that more difficult.

Love / BLACK GUYS POLISH WOMEN [809]

Its a gene pool thing, and also down to race as per Darwins case study of the different so called races.... we all have different trates, but generally the caucasian (european) brain can out perform the lesser african one, but its not the cleverest, in fact the oriental persons brain is superior in intellect - clever bunch these japs and chinks.......

the major problem in africa is that it is ruled by money hungry dictators such as mugabe in zimbabwe. now we`ve got dictators in other places in the world as well: russia, some south american countries, china and north korea for example. clever bunch these japs and chinks? well the japs maybe...

UK, Ireland / 90,000 Scottish Immigrants in Poland! [67]

Haha, yes, it would most likely be taken straight or "on the rocks" :)

i knew one polish girl from warsaw i used to work with, she was a proper barmaid (acutally bar manager), she knew a lot about drinks, coctails, wine etc and she introduced me to scotch with ginger beer. i must admit, it goes well together. personally i`m too sensitive to drinking scotch straight (and other spirits) so i have to have it mixed but that girl was tough, she would pour it straight into her mouth like a canister.

Lukasz, looks like you have a lot of information about the subject of scottish immigrants in poland in 16-17th centuries. if there`s anything you know about the scots settling in around the poznan area, particularly the ostrow wielkopolski area then i would be grateful if you could share it with me, please :)

PolskaDoll, i used to have a scottish teacher (teaching english in my hometown) and when i told him that i like scotch with coca cola he almost got a heart attack :)

wow, that`s cool. they`re keeping their scottish heritage over there alive

thanks Seanus, i never actually realised how much of a blessing a child is until i got pregnant and gave birth. it changes the way you look at many things :)

however, i do believe that women should have the choice. as horrible as aborting an unborn child is, in my eyes killing one that is born already is far worse as the unborn child doesn`t feel any pain physical and emotional. there is a lot of broken families, psycho mothers and fathers who beat their unwanted kids with the result sometimes being the child`s death. it makes me wanna cry.

If your serious about tracing your Scottish heritage,do us all a favour and stop talking about Scotch...Scotch is a drink, the word you are looking for is Scots.

and could you please do me a favour and think before you actually say something?

in the first part of my sentence i meant scotch as whisky and in the second part i mean scotch blood as in scottish blood.

Scotch \Scotch\, a. [Cf. Scottish.]
Of or pertaining to Scotland, its language, or its
inhabitants; Scottish.
[1913 Webster]

aw man you need an effin immigrant to teach you your own language @_@

Maybe he has Scotch in his blood, LOL. Now, as for heritage, that's another matter

lol... if you`re talkin about me then please note that the `he` is actually a `she` :)

being a woman, who has quite recently gone through pregnancy i must admit it wasn`t easy at all even though i had my loving partner right next to me. now to imagine being raped and having go through the same thing without any support would be extremely difficult as throughout pregnancy i was physically unable to work due to severe nausea and vomiting, i didn`t even have anough energy to cook food for myself in the first few months (it got better later on) and i was barely able to stand on my feet.

i think it should be up to a woman to decide whether or not she wants to keep her baby. personally i know what a wonderful thing a child is and what kind of a deep deep love it is you have for your child, i could never imagine myself having an abortion.

btw, silent scream in my opinion is a propaganda by the catholic church. there is no way that a featus (or call it underdeveloped baby in womb) can feel pain, let alone scream. infant`s nervous system is not fully developed even after its birth and featus starts feeling touch (not even pain yet) at around 28 weeks gestation. newborn baby feels pain less intense than an older baby, for example. in silent scream, the mouth movement of featus is probably caused by the suction the featus is experiencing, in no way it is a scream.

That doesn't mean they don't have poor or unwealthy people. I'm sure that he'd be fine with Poles if homeless or "lesser-off" Englishmen were considered for jobs before the Poles. I can understant where he's coming from. It's a lot like the illegal immigrants here in the US.

poor and unwealthy in this country as well as in america means something else than poor and unwealthy in places like poland not to mention 3rd world countries.

a lot of able to work englishmen are too lazy to find a job. they say they go and look for job on the internet but can`t find anything. what a load of rubbish! there is a lot of jobs available on the internet you just gotta dedicate some of your time to find it.
