Food / Polish people and Thai food [19]

Poland just doesn't compare to the UK when it comes to Asian food but there are obvious reasons for that. Prawn curries, they hit the spot

Food / Polish people and Thai food [19]

Those 2 mild dishes are legendary, got a taste for it now. The standard curries, rogan josh, dansak and balti are all good too.

Food / Polish people and Thai food [19]

Onions make ur eyes water too, spicy food is great. God Bless Indian and Thai curries. I don't go to vindaloo level heat tho, or even ceylon. A good madras is as adventurous as I get. Thai curries are even spicier, make sure and bring the ice-chilled water

Food / Polish people and Thai food [19]

This is really nice. My friends are Thai/Polish. Their dad is Polish and mother Thai but they were English teachers. They might have some good ideas

UK, Ireland / Three more Polish males lose lives on Irish roads [18]

I've noticed that many Poles are prone to irritation and take that onto the road. I know this problem is not confined to Poland by any means, I just suspect that the frustration level is higher. I could be wrong

RIP

Not sure, it was coarser than a leg or a breast that u'd buy in a British supermarket, I can tell u that much. Raw chili on the top, yummy!! No wonder my stomach moved towards ulcer development.

UK, Ireland / Paying tax in the UK??? Then you're breaking the law!! [41]

There haven't been any conclusions? I just assumed it was from 2005 for example. Correct me if I'm wrong but we went into Iraq in 2003. Why does it take so long to assemble a commission? What do they propose, to take Tony Blair to court? Good luck. MP's aren't above the law as the Kenneth Baker case illustrated but the likelihood of punishment is small

Love / Are polish girls generally curvy, tall with nice round butts [74]

The proof is in the pudding, in this case, the butt. Very difference from those Brazilian jiggly butts. Can u imagine the reaction of the moderators/admin to a butt-posting competition? Hehehe. It reminds me of people who make photocopies of their asses, funny but kinda sad

Work / For all English teachers in Poland (who work for only $1000 a month) [102]

Hi Bushman, raking in that amount is quite good. U r right about the motivational aspect but I've found that if u adopt a commanding presence, the students will respond in kind. I'm not an in-your-face teacher by any stretch but I've upped the ante a little as there is a danger that classes can go stale and u r the General in the class, so to speak. U can come out feeling drained but it is as the maxim/adage goes, 'no pain, no gain'.

Food / Eating out in Poland [43]

Americans will, virtually without fail, contest that. I can't judge as I've never been to the States but the tortillas and burritos here are really good. Americans love their Taco Bell and Mexican joints in general. The only criticism, if u could call it that, would be that Polish food outlets throw too much cabbage into burgers and generally everything. I like it but it's OTT/overkill. Overall, I've gotta say that eating out in Poland is a pleasant experience.

UK, Ireland / Polish people in UK not reporting crime. [26]

djf has a good point here, there are many people who are not officially registered and this creates problems. Criminals can capitalise on this. The police, almost in any country, aren't the most approachable people anyway

UK, Ireland / When do flights from Aberdeen/Inverness to Poland begin? [6]

Yeah, I've been wondering about that too. The closing date was the 15th of December and the response rate was said to be encouraging. Airlines are currently considering the prospect but, as of yet, haven't given a yay or nay.

News / Polish citizens given away to foreign law courts - is this normal? [29]

I agree with this. I can tell u that he'd be looking at 15 years minimum, I discussed this with my students today and there was consensus on this point. He may well have been assoilzed/exonerated by the Polish court according to some legal experts here

News / Polish citizens given away to foreign law courts - is this normal? [29]

Yeah z_darius, u gave some theoretical grounding but invariably such provisions aren't invoked. We are talking about the logical order of things and the English court chose to exercise jurisdiction. There was no question of giving away anything to a foreign court.

Life / Why are Polish people cheap? [126]

Flat tits and a midden, I think not!! Not to my knowledge. U r a Scottish man like me ratcatcher so u should know our reputation for being cheap and overly stingy. I prefer to see it as frugal and thrifty but who am I to change a well established stereotype? I can only fly the flag proudly and try to dispel this image. Many Poles are cheap because they have to be. They are aware of the need to save.

News / Polish citizens given away to foreign law courts - is this normal? [29]

This was a crime committed within the express jurisdiction of English law. How can Polish law apply? It wasn't like a Swede murdered a Chinaman on Mexican territory, that'd muddy the water somewhat. Why do u think the international community didn't let a German court try Adolf Eichmann? There is such a thing as declinature but putting a political spin on it was unfair. They are duty bound to be fair and just. Britain has produced a catalogue of miscarriages of justice but they were largely within the context of terrorism where evidence was harder to come by.

UK, Ireland / "Half of Poles in UK plan to return home" Telegraph article [8]

We'll see just how well Tusk has done in relation to job creation. I don't believe that the position has really improved that much. I c many people getting into the money transfer business, hehehe.
