UK, Ireland / Britain - Land of Milk and honey.. or basis for Lord of the Flies? [17]

....how can a land of such greatness, plummet to such depths?

how can people ( humans) treat others so badly? especially disabled?

I know this isnt isolated, theres other horror stories, even here in the states
and it has to stop..

when I seen the comment about the man urinating on the old woman. thats it for me
I cant talk about this anymore ... its to upsetting.

News / Polish Tourists wrestle and kill attacking bear! [39]

When I read that this bear was so young, it shows these idiots up for the cowards they are.
Go wrestle a fully-grown lion next time... or a donkey.

lol a donkey?

UK, Ireland / Another girl from Poland murdered in uk [63]

Media is responsible at times for causing mass panic in society ... !

Senseless loss of life in my opinion about the young Polish lass :(

agree totally on the mass panic. and its always news when it causes problems..

News / Polish Tourists wrestle and kill attacking bear! [39]

no excuse really - Brave men aye!

thats what I say.. it was ashame the bear didnt bite one of their arses and leave
his mark before he died.. or give them rabies.

and if two guys can carry a bear, my guess is this was more then likely a young cub
who was looking for food.. I bet a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich would have kept
the cub busy so they could make their great escape, but they chose to kill.

Good point Sammy.

both say things about each other.. its up to the individual to learn respect and just
move on..

we all know the media wont go out in public without a good story. so lets stir up
the fire.

News / Polish Tourists wrestle and kill attacking bear! [39]

Too Right, I suspect it was a small thing apparently theres an investigation going on now whether they stoned it to death :(

now I am appalled, looking at the size of the bear, which looks like a young bear
and judging by the size of the two men carrying it, Id say that they wanted to
poach rather then save someone life.

that was just another excuse to kill a animal.. sorry folks, not buying into this one
Polish or not, poaching is a crime, and although the bear was capable of attacking
I dont believe the whole story.. smaller bears look for food, and they could have
diverted its attention.

when I read the story, I was expecting this huge bear that was 7 foot tall.

UK, Ireland / Another girl from Poland murdered in uk [63]

MY condolences to the family of this girl.

but , and there is a but. does anyone see whats happening..

someone is manageing to spread hate over this.

who else was killed or murdered that same day? anyone british? scottish? Itialian?
black?

it just goes to show you how the focus can be only on one thing and cause a
major blowout of racism and hate.

yes this was tragic.. just as tragic as any other murder that takes place in a city
where so many people live crowded .. does anyone know if anyone else died that
day from a gun? knife? I am sure that more then one murder occured, but the
paper decided those other murders werent front page news...

as if there isnt enough to contend with for both Polish and british and they keep
adding salt in the wounds over and over again, till both nations just start killing
each other.. mass genocide by their own hands..

for once, open up your minds and see the real reasons.. anyone who can perform
murder or kill is sick,, and doesnt deserve to live walk this earth. but please people
see truth, not media causing hate..

I feel for anyone who lost a loved one that day, its ashame that more of the women
arent taking classes of self defense to be able to protect themselfs more in these
situations , especially in a country with so much crime going on as of late due to the
mass crowding. why isnt anyone teaching self defense classes?? this would be
helpful and save lives!!

sorry folks this is my heartfelt opinion, no offense to anyone, its frustrating to see
this happening.

Life / Why the stubbornness and narrow-mindedness of some Poles? [32]

Life / Why are the Poles picked on there is no reason to do this to them [108]

Blackberry – please use Afro-Caribbean Berry. We have taken up your advice in this area and have written to the manufacturers of the ubiquitous hand held devices in question demanding that they change their branding in this way. Incidentally, blackcurrants are, of course, to be referred to as Afro-Caribbean currants, Red berries are to be called Socialist Berries and Green Gauges are to be called eco-friendly gauges.

ha hahhaaaaaaaa blah blah blah..

u almost had me.. i started to get very angry then it turned to full blown laughter!

afro caribbean berry <~ bahaaahahaahahahaha

Again, it just goes to show how these forum members are not in any way representative of so many normal Poles.

well at least you finally admitted and hypokrytically spoke out for yourself.

one minute your saying bad things at random about Polish and saying its from
experience that you learned this back in the communism era, and now your
saying its only those polish forum folks :)

and you actually met normal , nice polish folks ?? what happened michal, someone
bop you on the noogan ?
good for you, glad to see you finally admit it after all this time.

I can only speak for my own country/s (UK) but I am sure there are similar feelings in the rest of the worlds countries.

yes you are correct.. in the states we also have this problem, most now have to work
because they developed a program that gets them off their arses.. they have to at least put in 20 hours a week.. they offer to pay for childcare and even help to buy

you a car just so this person is productive.

its sad though, because there is still some who have alot of children and abuse
the system by selling their food stamps for money for drugs and their children still
go hungry..

A friend at work told me, his 6 year old niece isn't allowed to sing 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' or 'Four and Twenty Blackbirds' at her school because it's considered rascist...WTF?

WTF is right!!

your joking right ?

if this is true, its stupid. if people want to use nursery rymes as a scapegoat thats
petty and sad.. all my pity goes out to them and their pathetic lifes.

Kids made fun of my last name, but that's about the extent of it.

agree..

it was much worse when my father was growing up in the states then it is now.

weve evolved :)

I went to the old school he attended to check out his report cards and did anyone
know they graded on appearance ( washed hair etc ) as well as school work!

it used to happen, Polish as well as other immigrants were picked on some 50 plus
years ago when immigration was high.

but when Don Imus said something stupid on the radio, he wouldnt
forgive him..Jesse is a hypocrite!!

they took that way oveboard.. he apologized and they still wanted him to lose his
job/life over it, but let one of us hear them say honky on television and make them
lose a job/life over it..

we get called white trash, honkey , etc etc.. list goes on. I am not against people
getting fairly treated and what they deserve, but you would never see a reverse

accusation on television.. it would cause alot of turmoil.

they always play the race card as soon as possible..

I dont like saying crap. but there is a limit to which people can take and anymore
when I hear this , i just get up and leave.. everyone is oppressed, depressed, pressed
which ever way ya look at it. :(

or katrina.

yeah, I was wondering where they were going to hook them up once they got them
home?? lol lmao..

or who was going to buy them if they were up for sale..

Tawana Brawley rape in NY...mid 80's or so. He created a riot about it and this kid lied...

so both are worthless.. sad, it makes no sense,, stir up crowds and others suffer
in the path of it.. just like the rodney king riots, those owners of those stores
lost everything.. and its kind of ironic that they have to bust up store windows..

why not federal buildings? or other buildings?

you know some of those guys just wanted to jump in and claim some extra goods
while everyone was stirring. take tvs in the name of rodney!!

yes but you live in Chicago where there are 1.8 million other Poles.

she lives where there is a abundance of all cultures michal. as we all do in america

America is Europe in a nutshell. and even though we call ourselfs Americans.. our
roots all come from over there.. so if people are calling names.. it must have come
from the roots.. and probably the recent ones.. because all of us who have been
here a while have learned to live and breath among each other peacefully and
do our own thing.

we all have to work, keep our families going, and save for the future,, who the heck
has time to sit and call names.. America is to busy !!

Genealogy / how many know their own family histories? [139]

You have to remember to take verbal stories with a grain of salt

done :) did actually.. but I do record and keep everything till otherwise proven :)

but it's only when you think about the times your ancestors lived in, you begin to see more of a picture.

Of course!! using a little imagination to put ourselfs in the past to realize the hard
ships they faced.. even though we will never know this. our past is a changed era
as their past is a changed era.

the reality of the past is unobtainable.

individuals reality.. the past is well documented in so many books and so many
eyes of authors around the world.. but its their own realitys they documented
so it is possible. but only for individuals :)

least thats the way I see it :)

All too often, our stories die when we die. Those stories aren't always true either.

it depends on what truth we wish to believe.

back when they were young folklore was real..

my grandmother told my mom about a story of her having to go to the local store
( whatever they called them back in the early 1900s) in Poland.

each day she had to walk past a cemetary to get to this store.. one day she said
it was a different day, and she heard noises and looked towards the cemetary to
see a pair of red eyes staring at her, she ran home as fast as she could scared
to go past it again..

another story ( truth or fiction) was my grandfathers sister wrote to my great uncle
begging him to send her money to come to America.. she told him that their father
was being difficult and he didnt want her to marry , but to be a farm hand and
work for him the rest of her life.. ?? so several cousins tell same story, perhaps
all of them are same grandchildren ?

yes, they are.. and its a true story actually. more then one verification.different
cousins.

Genealogy / how many know their own family histories? [139]

Many of us are left with other forms of "documentation" -photos, testimonies, stories, mmeting people and so on - without "hard" proof or concrete evidence of our histories. This tends to be the trend occuring in our current day for those of us who seek information regarding our family roots and have little to go by.

I am finding a even amount from both.. some know and have major amounts of
documentation in Polish families where others have no/very little. but its been
close even amount of folks , and it isnt anyone being ashamed, it was more the
War/ things they been thru.. always I heard wonderful things about the country
itself.

News / My view on Poland's Future [22]

and we should lean more towards inter-European relations then relying on fake promises by the United States! Poland has the potential. We have the people, the intelligence, the resources and the drive.

well, this could be true if poland trusted more, thats the problem,, I live in the states
and I see made in on products , but never from Poland.

imports/exports bring in revenue constantly. this was talked about on another
thread, its all about trust, and its a issue that needs to be dealt with first before
anything else..

I can see your point on the united states and broken promises,, we cant keep our
own heads above water at this point.

2008 cant come soon enough.
