I know even better option, no public funds at all for health problems of smokers caused by their behavior with full awarenesses of the consequences.
According to Stats Canada, the cost of treatment of smoking related diseases costs about 30% of what the sales of cigs bring in to the federal revenue. So having a few smokers helps non-smokers too ;)

If there is any animosity against the Poles in the UK, this is because local media outlets prepared such conditions. If they would change the tune, quickly situation would improve even beyond reasonable limits. Interesting example of such simple sociological phenomena could be observed few years ago in Poland where ski jumping fans followed changes in media trends and skipped from deep dislike to silly "adoration" of German ski jumper Sven Hannawald.

This is very simple, it depends only from how do you truly (without particular interest) consider yourself.
About this guy from Austria. This world is so sick not because very rare freaks like Fritzl, it is sick because media report such stories. Not only they report but analyze every single detail of such cases. This freak shoudl be simply convinced and probably executed but personally I would prefer never learn about his crimes. This knowledge is not necessary at all and gives new ideas to similar freaks. Despite that I haven't read even a single article about this case I have seen his face several times!!

my point is that your logis skips a step or two. you assume that everything was done correctly (or in accordance with the theory) but that surely doesn't seem the case.

joep: If you want to know what really happened why not view some interviews with people who lived through the war? Maybe some Germans who survived concentration camps in Germany (there were camps for people opposing Hitler). I've heard many of "your" theories from extreme nationalists and racists in Poland an among US polonia (driven by Radio Maryja + Nasz Dziennik and other "patriotic journalism")

His name is Karol Grünberg. I admit, some communist bias is visible. When you read books published in this period you never know whether author included few silly sentences for censors satisfaction or perhaps some facts are distorted.
I'm around the year of 1939 and I must say that relations between several Nazi military organizations doesn't look to friendly. This is interesting that such a complicated system was able to cause so many harm to so many countries.

SS and Wehrmacht had a peculiar love-hate relationship.Wehrmacht adored the SS when they sacrificed themselves as first line warriors to save Wehrmacht divisions from collapse and hated them for the crimes of certain SS divisions among population.

Marx mentions briefly about common interest of aristocracy, but this class had no real power and he did not considered it to be a real enemy (it is quite interesting that even Soviet rulers were never very aggressive toward aristocracy. They killed some but ignored and let live or leave many). Marx specifically pointed out that there are no permanent associations or interests of bourgeoisie (Lenin - "capitalists will sell us a rope on which we will hang them") .

They committed many crimes as well. Incidentally yesterday I started to read a book about SS written by Polish-German in communist Poland. Author at the start claims that Wermacht and SS often worked together, perhaps later he will provide some details.

Communist ideology tells us about collective interests of different social classes, while people in fact don't think in such categories, they are individualistic. Thus they prefer private property over state property. Communist concept of the state is based on complete denial of economy, logic is replaced by demagogy.
Sweden is socialist not communist and I can only repeat that they became socialist already when they were wealthy.

The Germans are another problem not related to this case. If Soviets caused harm to Polish citizens then the latter should be compensated. Americans freed France and thus eventual compensations for incidental damage was pushed to French government. Soviet harm was intentional, this is simple criminal case.

This is not an excuse. I simply point out that all these complains from Polish side are out of proportion. If you compare this with Ukraine when UPA seems to be worshiped in th west. This proofs dishonesty of mainstream media outlets. Ukraine is willing to join euro-socialism camp so they can get away without criticism. (Note that I still did not wrote how I personally think Polish policy should look like, just describe current events )

Sure they were not very idealistic however Menshevicks are to large extend responsible for helping them to gain the power. Whether they would be idealist or not, we already know that this does not work and this is everything what we need to know about this ideology.

At the times when the US was a capitalist country Americans owned more cars per capita than people in socialist Europe exactly because cars were cheap.

I live in Poland.
You may also choose to fool yourself thinking that possessing some unique and in demand skill will guarantee you high wages. If you are one of the few lucky ones be aware that someone is looking very hard to either eliminate need for your skill, bring replacement, take your job somewhere else, or take need for this skill somewhere else. If you think that being self employed provides you security you are mistaken as well, the above reasons apply as well.
