News / Polish engineer beheaded in Pakistan. [347]

. I think I heard only Nixon was more unpopular.

nah, this bastard took the cake, for sure.

We had to keep Bush because if we didn't vote him back in, it would look like weakness to our enemies since we were attacked on 9/11.

that went well, eh?

Bush became this lame duck and very unpopular.

he was lame from the start unfortunately he had the bigger herd.

I wouldn't be too surprised if you didn't pull the lever for him.

lol

This war would be at a much better stage were that to have happened.

i totaly disagree. i think it would have been even a bigger cluster f.

Bush got it wrong.

now, that is right. :D

I believe the identities of the murderers is known to the Polish military.....and that of their relatives

i seriously doubt it.

that's harbouring terrorists and was seen as illegal and evi

not exactly but can be seen that way, i guess. you're sounding like a yank now. :shudder: lol

Not now i have told everybody.....but four guys on tourist visa,s flying in seperatly could get the job done...and be in another country before the bodies get cold....it happens many times all over the world...

and you don't think the pakis expect something like that?

I think he did a good thing there but it's important for the US president to be more liked internationally, IMO.

i totally disagree. USA needs to quit being one sided while talking with both sides of their mouth. no one is buying that shit anymore.

No matter....coward or hero...dead is dead..!

of course it matters. haven't you been reading? a coward is forgotten. a hero is revenged. that's how things work there.

Wahldo,
Unlike some on this forum, I do not buy the myth that Israel is the root of all problems in the world, I do not blame them for 9/11, the blame is on the pigs who hijacked the planes and the crazy fundies who create them based on stereotypes, paranoias, myths and lies. You are buying into it, Wahldo, I am not. The world would be much better off if people would stop believing the fallacies.

then you better start now. where were the hijackers from? who funded/funds the wahabis? were those guys from afghanistan? how about iraq? open your eyes.

USA is completely out to lunch on foreign policy.

Why do you think these "pigs" decided to hijack these planes? Was it purely arbitrary?
No other nation supports Israel like the US does. 3000 people are dead because if it.. but who cares, right? Most of them were goys.

ouch. lol

Life / Polish Residency - Zameldowanie to be abolished? [49]

there is paperwork that you actually get with meldunek? i thought it was more like a registry then a "stamp". hmm interesting. i think it should be abolished and not replaced with something just as absurd.

Zamildowanie

btw. zam e ldowanie

it seems quite sensible to have an address where the State can contact you.

it is completely UNreasonable unless the state owns you.

News / Polish engineer beheaded in Pakistan. [347]

the Pakistani authorities will take care of it?

i surely didn't suggest that, did i? :D

Let me put it to you this way, are international law and territorial sovereignty always respected?

for the most part, yes.

What'd happen if Israel started killing people in Gaza? ;) ;) You'd expect the chance for revenge, right?

how are you even comparing that cluster f to this situation... boy, talk about a bridge to nowhere. lol

The War on Terror is completely phony

you're just figuring this out? well, better late then never bud. :)

So it goes...

lol. funny stuff. :D :D :D

History / Col.Jozef Swiatlo-Secret agent, torturer, CIA-collaborator to be tried? [145]

Escaping communism and joining it not exactly the same thing, wouldn't you say?

very similar, for sure. you could be perceived as a traitor either way. i get it often enough.

Both are selling out your country for a better life.

see, there it is.

Emigrating is selling out your country? To whom?

not selling but turning your back. same freaking difference.

Right then. Joining the enemy and fleeing from the enemy is equally detestable. Which one would you choose? Which choice would allow you to have a clear concience, provided you had a consience to start with?

not that simple. you were presented with a chance to escape the chains. not everyone had that.
running away could definitely be perceived in more negative light then joining the commies.

Polish communists were to be somehow reviled for acting in their self-interest

hey now. most card holders weren't commies at all. ok?

The people you left it to. Instead of fighting for your country you just fought for yourself. Very much like joining the communist party really.

told ya so jola. :D

Hate to burst your bubble, but most people didn't fight the system.

sitting on one's hands is passive approval, no? no wonder noimmi cuts up on us all. lol

Harry,
It has been pointed out many times that you are a blooming idiot. Why do you come back for more?

huh? his point is definitely valid.

Its all about choices and self-interest. Nothing wrong with choosing a better life over helping one's country overthrow communism? But don't berate others for doing what you yourself have done.

right on.

Unless you are saying that one couldn't be Polish and a Jew?

yeah, many poles have very little understanding about racism and such.

Self-interest. I need say no more :-)

selling out. ;)

Chosing a better life in another country and joining the enemy is an equal act of self interest to you.It is not.

on basic lever, yes it is. lol.. self interest is self interest.

The highest percentage of Party membership never even reached 8% of the population. Do you think the other 92%

something's funky about those numbers. i'll let you know when i figure it out.

Let me give you a hypothetical choice and I count on an honest answer.

depends on the reality for me on the ground.

News / Polish engineer beheaded in Pakistan. [347]

the fruition remark was a work up towards the arbitrary borders segment of this discussion. that's one of the main reasons for the issues in that region, imho. it goes a bit deeper the even nrx said but we'll get there eventually, i am sure. :)

sorry about what?

that the truth hurts and that the brits are really at fault for most of this as explained on the last couple of pages before this post.

How is that an act of war?

trespassing on other sovereign lands will be seen as an act of aggression, no?

they will likely acquiesce and grant GROM passage in. I don't see why they object so much, are they really interested in fighting this war? Their casualty count would suggest so.

what? there is no freaking way in hell pakistan will grant grom a passage and vengeance permit. NO FREAKING WAY! have they let the americans in?

as to why, it's a long and in depth study. have fun. :)

pakistan has a higher casualty number in this war on noun/idea then the rest of the coalition put together.

Just that GROM target those responsible for that unforgivable act.

that's an act of war though. if poland trespasses Pakistan it will all blow up even more.

.and released

you're way jumping to conclusions. what US has been doing at gitmo is just beyond words.

On top of that Pakistan is blamed for not being able to keep an eye on a 2600 km chalk line.

how could they really. those mountains are not fencable. you know that. i think all the borders in the region seem rather meaningless. do you think tajiks apply for passports or visas when they travel to hindu kush or karakoram? lol

Sometimes it doesn't feel like we're living in the 21st century.

btw. it's year 1430 over there.

but unpricipled men make excuses and basicaly just look out for their own interest. They are easily bought.

you're being way one dimensional here. many people did because that was a selfless thing to do, actually. think about...

Even Wałęsa? It is well documented he was a commie stooge and played his part well in the smooth transition from communist rule.

thanks for making my point.

That said, people ARE going after the people who did these things

yeah? where are the guys who chopped pearl's head off? what about all the others?

I hope GROM go in. Yes, there would be repercussions for Poland but so what? It's worth it as retribution. Pakistan was insipid, p*ssy-footing around and not taking decisive action. I'm sorry for the Pakistani poster here but I endorse this action.

you're propsing poland start a war? interesting.

ravel to places such as Indonesia, the Sudan, Syria, Saudi Arabia and see for yourself.

that is not the case at all. most muslims are moderate. just like christians etc.

Pakistani leader to allow Allied troops to get to where they need to be?

won't happen. this whole mess can be blamed on the empire of the crown. this is exactly what happens when you arbitrarily draw lines on a piece of paper without understanding the inhabitants.

You need a pen to educate not a gun.

well said. glad you had that chance.

Maybe you don't hear about it these days, but sure there's a history of it.

the crusades, ring a bell?

Some of us work with Indonesians and talk to them. Perhaps you should think twice before spouting your ridiculous nonsense about Muslims in front of the other chest-thumping goobers who like to take a swing at people from the safety of their internet connection.

right on.

foxtrot1213

southern baptist ~al qaida. lol. no kidding

History / Col.Jozef Swiatlo-Secret agent, torturer, CIA-collaborator to be tried? [145]

we're talking about different thing. i am talking just about ordinary people trying to survive. they didn't torture anyone, they just had the party card because without it, life really sucked. did any of the ones i know actually believed in commies, hell no, they all joined solidarnosc as soon as they could. i bet more of the people you know were members but i doubt they'd admit to it. just wait and they when they get way old, they'll tell you the truth then.

come on now. gestapo and the commies? not all commies were about oppression. almost all educated people i knew/know in PL were members of the party for the reasons i already stated. you can ignore the facts if you want to but that doesn't change the truth. and don't kurwa me... ok?

News / Polish engineer beheaded in Pakistan. [347]

ok, i didn't see the town where he was taken.

personally, i wouldn't travel around either pakistan or afghanistan without a "guide". but there is always the issue that his body guards and driver were probably from a different tribe then his kidnappers. they could have been speaking different languages too. many tribes don't see things in the same light.

in the article it said he was working for a polish energy company; whatever that means.
if you are spending time in tribal areas it is best to have an 'insider' with you; thus the driver and body guards. that applies to many places, not just pakistan.

I just thought I would point it out.

yup.

obl = osama bin laden

ksa = kingdom of saudi arabia. taliban is a wahabi sect which originates from ksa. nrx eluded to that in his post about the sunnis. (may have been his first one in this thread)

how is it you know so much about this topic?.

i'm interested in this stuff.

i just recently finished reading '3 cups of tea'. i definitely recommend the book.

naive to think America was behind it for oil

actually it's naive to think otherwise.

entirely innocent communists.

no such thing.

Sorry, scheming against your own people in such fashion is just wrong. He was like Brzezinski, using America as a platform to advance his dubious agenda.

trying to free poland. how can he even be considered a traitor?

Why should he be killed, Greg? Would you prefer to be living under communism now?

that's how i am reading it. he's just clueless, really.

Not sure about the veracity of that statement.

nah.

I wonder which one it could be?

lol.. no kidding and besides those are some very christian like words and actions they all seem to want. much more civilized, wouldn't you say? lol

Where do you think that is, then?

lol. good point but whatch out for a smear campaign by at least one of those.. they are so tolerant. the muslims would be amazed. NOT

I'm very much for the War on Terror

waste of time and energy. the west need to butt out of others' business and things will subside.

USA, Canada / Visa red tape, how to move to Poland from the USA? [9]

search the forums. there are threads with links to all kinds of places to look for a job.

Even if you have one of the above reasons you are in for a whole mess of required documents and things you have never even heard of and will have no end of trouble getting.

and it all better be translated to polish by an official translator.
