Yes, that is true. I do remember though being in Gdańsk in 1886'ish and it was all on the television at the time. It was an old Russian aircraft but was being flown as a LOT flight.

I have heard that LOT flights as well as the food is supposed to be better than on British Airways flights anyway. I am not so sure about flying from America to Poland via a LOT plane. Many years ago I was in Gdansk when a Polish LOT flight was coming in to Warsaw when it simply blew up and destroyed two kilometers of forest in its path. Not to be recommended!

I went to a dentist in Czestochowa and he was dreadful. The filling just fell out so I went back and had it done again. The same thing happened a few hours later again so I simply waited until I got home to England and had it done properly by a South African dentist and then it was perfect. Mind you, this was a long time ago and I hope that this particular dentist is no longer practicing. things are cheap in Poland but that does not mean that the quality is always going to be the same.

In the 1980's the Jagiełłonski Universitet in Kraków used to offer six week full time courses for foreigners as well as that famous university in Lublin. No, I have not. To be truthful, as I have already said, I have certainly never seen the Warsaw Voice in any shop or library in England, only on planes leaving Warsaw. I am sure that I could subscribe on the internet if I was that interested. In London, in Polish shops you can certainly buy polish colour magazines but never The Warsaw Voice.

Spokoj is peace and is a noun not a verb. Niech pan przeczyta gramatykę is also, I think a form of the imperative expressed in a different way. Przesań, to stop doing something is a very good example of the imperative but przeczytaj dalej is also an example of the impreritive. Nie patrz sie na mnie-don't look at me would be another example. Buy a good grammar course and it will explain everything in an order and that would be your best bet. Borrowing from a library can be a problem as you might like the book but you have always got to return it after a few weeks.

When the hell am I in Poland? I have seen the newspaper on many occasions, especially on planes as that is where they are always giving the thing away. A bit of this and a bit of that, not my 'cup of tea' at all. Why does a country like Poland where they speak no English spend so much money producing a newspaper in English anyway? Who reads it?


I think its more likely to be American money rather than British democracy at work here.

I would have thought that proof of identity such as your Birth Certificate and/ or a passport would be necessary. If you want to be seen as a good Roman Catholic and you were baptized overseas in a Catholic church it might look nice to have that too, simply to show but I would doubt if it would be mandatory. I have a feeling too, that at once time, you needed a certificate to prove that you are are not married and are free to marry but ask a priest who will conduct the ceremony for confirmation.

It is surprising how many Indian people are working in Poland as TESOL teachers and/or are looking for Polish girls on this forum or other forums. Young Polish girls do have a certain charm I suppose, though under neath it all, they can be quite hard too.
