News / Man Why Do People Like PO Instead Of PIS [120]

Who do you think is more willingly and effectively will introduce GM? I think big ones.

I agree, most likely some international conglomerate.

I think that it just isn't exmined enough

Again, I agree, but until you understand what is in it, don't rush to push it down the people's throats. Too many hormones, pesticides and dubious practices being used in mega-farming.

Not at as a part of economy (though thats true as well) but as a strategic resource in case of catastrophe

It is also nice to have independent systems where you know the purity (non-Genetically Modified) of your food sources. Less influence from the huge mega-corporations is a good thing. Not to say a country shouldn't have a strict set of food inspection protocols, though.

To raise a little brat,is her words,

Yeah, so. She said brat. Your response

Mentioning our children is fecking personal. You back off.

seems to be a little over the top.

but she has lost all those defences,

What is this, the debating society? Where are the rules posted. It wasn't even in response to what you posted.

so does she need a captain save a ho

Again with the personal insults. Really a class way of debating.

I am sure PGTX can fend for herself, but there is no need to take such an aggressive stance.

You are better off being a genetic full stop,

Being a man, I can think of many reasons for a couple not to have children that don't revolve around careers.

-Reproductive problems (his or hers)
-Genetic predisposition to medical conditions being passed to the offspring
-Care for the environment (the earth can't continue absorbing so many humans, so I/We won't contribute to the problem...)
-Concern about the society we live in (why would we bring children into such a messed up world...)
-Knowing you could never financially bring up a child in a manner in which the child deserves (financial....)
-Having a life threatening illness that you know would cut your life short
-Mother's history of medical reasons that would be a threat to the baby / mother
etc...
etc...

Mentioning our children is fecking personal. You back off.

Seems to me you are being the heavy. No need for that.

Life / Why is Polka music played in Poland so much different than in the USA? [36]

You didnt see him kick the chicken on the stairs

That is like saying they planted a bomb in the basement of the WTC to bring it down. If you look carefully at the video, the chicken is clearly 1 step below the first descender. He is wise enough to get out of the way. I pity the chickens on the top floor. They never had a chance.

They were also drinking a clear fluid from a glass container, It is likely vodka, thus confirming the theory that Poles Invaded Mexico during one of the partitions.

looked like Martin Short at the end?

I agree.

You've got the most powerfull conventional army in Europe and who's going to nuke you?

Interesting twist. If they didn't do something about Poland, would they intervene when Germany is rolled over.

News / THE HOMINTERN IN POLAND? [80]

Either allow the teachers to teach

But in a public school system, it is up to the public to determine what the curriculum is. If the parents don't like it, they can work to have it changed. Should the majority deem that teaching that homosexuality is OK, then so be it. It shouldn't be on the curriculum.

don't let them see tv or newspapers, or book you don't like

Or let the parents discuss the topic in their own context.

School should be focused on reading, writing, and arithmetic. Throw in some History, Geography and science, and that is a full curriculum. Don't detract from the staples to cater to the fringe.

News / THE HOMINTERN IN POLAND? [80]

No kind of brainwashing, no 'forcing down throats'. Nothing

The one teacher in the first video asked "If a child comes from a background where this is not so correct, are we supposed to be teaching that this is normal?" (it apparently went against her grain) and the coach said "We are asking kids to believe this is right". This seems like undermining the parents right to teach the children as they see fit.

Your oil sand burns the dirtiest.

I won't deny that it is not as clean as it needs to be, but work is progressing to improve it:

What Pereira Almao proposes one day could end up looking something like this: steam is injected to a reservoir to heat the bitumen to 200 C to initially get it flowing. A nano-catalyst, which might resemble sifted pastry flour, is mixed with oil and injected into the well, where it percolates through the warming bitumen. Automated chemical analysis at the wellhead reveals what is happening underground and allows a geologist 800 kilometres away in a Calgary office tower to monitor the well.

albertaventure.com/environment/dawn-of-the-clean-oilsands

And:

The extraction process used in the Long Lake project is Steam Assist, Gravity Drainage (SAGD). This process relies upon paired series of horizontal wells with one well a few meters above the other. Steam is injected through the upper wells, heating the bitumen deposits and causing them to drop into the lower wells whence they are brought back to the surface for processing. Recent improvements in drilling technology allow a single drill site to send radials out in many directions, allowing large areas of coverage with minimal disturbance of the surface ecology.

Like any good capitalist, you should embrace new ideas, and try to profit from them.

There's nothing boring about large-scale whisky consumption with a visiting distant Canadian relative

Sorry Os, somewhere in a distant thread, Scrappy postulated and documented the fact that Canadians are boring (like watching paint dry) Euro-Wanna-Be-Trash.

Studying Aviation? Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Fertilization Techniques? Then no. Animal Husbandry? maybe.

The danger is that those who want to disappear can do so easily. How do you separate the wheat from the chaff? Until a better / foolproof method is devised, National Security.

The Arabs have been preparing and are building billion dollar mega cities that will generate wealth far longer than any unclean energy source

Megacities that will go empty. There is only so much money to be made in the movement of money. Other products and services must be made / delivered in order to create real wealth...

And at that point, should the west, including us Boring Canadians ;-), be very nervous?

You were taxed for it there , Shawn. Eh?

No, this is not covered under my Ontario Hospital Insurance Plan (OHIP). Dental is separate, except if you are on Welfare.

PAY FOR IT EVEN IF YOU DON'T NEED ONE

Small price to pay if you ever found yourself in a pinch, IMO.

And the great thing is, that in some provinces, Canadians can pay their way to the front of the line, if they are so inclined.

Well I am glad you weren't charged for a visit you didn't make. Here in Canada, we only pay for the dentist when we go.

I like to have them professionally scraped and cleaned every 6 months or so.

Like a 3 hour wait to see the doctor. Lucky you. Pretty soon they will tax the magazine you read at the clinic

But the thing is, I get to see one. I don't have to worry about co-pay, or whether my insurance will cover it, or the drugs that he may prescribe. I know it won't likely bankrupt the family, if I need an operation. And god forbid, if I walk into any emergency department holding my severed arm, the first question I hear won't be "and how will you be paying for this?".

Maybe not but being an individual is.

Like what, not participating in Iraq? By maintaining relations with Cuba? By supporting Multilateralism with a number of countries around the world that America won't talk to? By proposing the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces, and placing our boys in harms way between warring factions? By sending our troops to hurricane ravaged New Orleans to provide water, assistance and security?

Your European handlers haven't tutored you on that apparently.

Proof that European Handlers dictate Canadian Policy, please.

Where's your rock n' roll

Well, since Canada was less likely to promote slavery, something the US and UK have a deep tradition with, we never had the disaffected black population that the US had. It seems that rock and roll was another thing that America took from the formerly enslaved black people, twisted it and called it their own. But since there is a buck to be made from it, we have provided the US with entertainers such as Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Denny Doherty (of The Mamas & the Papas), David Clayton-Thomas (of Blood, Sweat & Tears), Andy Kim, Zal Yanovsky (of The Lovin' Spoonful), John Kay (of Steppenwolf), Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Rush, Brian Adams..... But need I go on?

Also, President seems to like his crack berry.

You don't buy Chinese sh.t?

I never contended that we didn't, just dispelling your point about US blessing Canada with jobs aplenty.

How long to you think the Chinese ascent will continue?

Depends on how deep in the hole America puts herself in.

The American public actually is waking up and not everyone shops at Walmart.

Yes, only 3 more years until the next election. But by then, it may be too late. Don't worry about Walmart, I hear their shares are a steal right now, the US unemployment rate is going to hit the levels of the mid 80's, and people will be looking for cheap deals.
