UK, Ireland / Danio (vanilla) yoghurt on UK market - help!!!! [25]

Just imagine the taste in your mouth.

This is teasing me :)))

Seriously, I know what you mean, when we must wait for something we may appreciate it more later.

Asian food you are saying, hmmm... Poland does not have as many asian places as Britain, true.
Hmm, how did you end up living in Poland Seanus?

Neither Sainsburry nor asda sells it :(((

I even emailed UK's Danone and they replied they do not offer such a product on UK's market. well, the only place where I get get Danio are polish shops - but they only offer 150 gr Danios and there are always just a few on the shelf (saying nothing about the ridiculous prices for which they sell it).

well, I am a hugry Pole and need 400 gr Danio :)) lol

would order about 30 - 40 of them... if I could only find them! sniff sniff

HEEEELP!!!

UK, Ireland / Danio (vanilla) yoghurt on UK market - help!!!! [25]

Hi there,

Could you please help - where in Scotland can I get Danio joghurt? (the last time I saw it was in Tesco store in Dundee).

Danio is very popular product on the polish market (150 gr, 160 gr and 400 gr, variety of flavours: vanilla, peach, strawberry etc) but for some reason it is very difficult to find it in UK?

Here is a picture of a product in case you was not sure: bdsklep.pl/product_info.php?products_id=2130

cheers!

Life / Grandmother's day & Grandfather's day in Poland [7]

here we go esek: mothersdaycelebration.com/mothers-day-uk.html

according to the link above, this year, it falls on the 10th of May (in GB), and in PL, on the 26th of May.

I prefer this one:

Tato, Tato ukochany,
my życzenia Ci składamy.
Przesyłamy jakby z procy,
sto całusów z całej mocy!

Food / KLUSKI Z SEREM -- family favourite. Lane kluski too. [10]

twarog = "bialy ser" and on some web sites it was translated as a cottage cheese too, try to google "bialy ser" and the pictures should explain...

Kluski z serem could be also known as "kluski lyzka kladzione" (z serem)

Food / KLUSKI Z SEREM -- family favourite. Lane kluski too. [10]

Mmmm... I really like kluski z serem! very simple to do and very good, especially if you put some more effort and prepare home made noodles/pasta/kluski!!! I like them with lots of "bialy ser/twarog" and tiny slices of "skwarki" - well fried bacon - if I dont have bacon I cut onion into very small pieces, fry it till it becomes brown and it tastes good too... :) Smacznego :)

Travel / PLANES VERSUS TRAINS ~ WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS? [32]

I'm really surprised at how little I hear people complaining about all the walking and discomfort of air travel.

I keep reading and the more I am reading the more I want my yesterdays trip(WAW - LGW - EDI) to happen again :) Long distance walks to gates/terminals/(at times even toilets, LOL) helps to straighten the bones between the flights! :)

Long queues to security? - well, the bast way is to calm down, smile and use your charm and ask somebody to let you in :) hihii :)

Smaller airports are best.

I (will) try to avoid them! LOL they are boring & depressing! ;)

It depends. For distances less than 6 hours by train, trains are better.

no matter what the distance is... planes, planes, planes! planes! lol

As far as I am concerned, planes are great "things" - in terms of a modern way of transport and technik!!!! The power of engines, human's ability to control a plane... always amazing for me!!

I am looking forward to my next air trip! oh, I forgot to add - I am happy that I do not fly directly but need to connect at one of the busiest European airports! LOL!

News / Women's average earnings as a percentage of men's. Poland's near top. [50]

I take that your objectives would be the following: cook dinner for a partner, tidy up the flat, go for a walk with a dog, food shopping... LOL :)

Personally, I would prefer SOMETHING more challenging :)
And funds from the other half? Hmmm... if you would like to be supported constantly and stay housewife for the whole life that would be called a sponsorship and not a partnership/relationship!

News / Women's average earnings as a percentage of men's. Poland's near top. [50]

In Poland it has to be remembered that most women work in the home and of those working, some may be in private business

Where do you come from? Or to which part of Poland does it refer according to you?
I completelly disagree! Read newspapers (I mean decent ones), watch news or look around - the majority of woman work somewhere and some of them are on top managerial positions - both in a private sector and politics.

I would say that nowadays the minority of woman work at home (housewife).

Genealogy / what's so special in Polish people's look? :) [19]

Polish people can have really nice dreams without using grass or tranquilizers...

Tell everyone what was the latest "really nice dream" that you had then?

Genealogy / what's so special in Polish people's look? :) [19]

Hi there,

It is very common sentence that I hear from Scottish/English people whom I know that Polish people look different, I mean that it is easy to recognise them on the street... I am Polish and when I observe people around it's not always obvious for me that a person I look at comes from PL while for somebody Scottish/English, very often, it is so obvious that "(s)he is Polish" at the same time! What does make Polish woman/man look so different? ;)

Any opinions about this please?

Travel / Skiing in Poland - Krynica [4]

Hello there!

I remember skiing in Krynica too, my favourite slope was Jaworzyna :)

Whyikit: good choice if you plan skiing in PL!
Dazza: mulled wine and warm honey beer - that's what I really enjoyed!
The mail "pump room"(?) (I mean Pijalnia) of water in the city centre - I visited it only once - could not force myself to drink water there! It's apparently healthy spring water buttttt.... I just prefered a bottle of "Kryniczanka" from the shop ;)

Cheers pals!

Love / POLISH CIVIL CEREMONIES TRADITIONS AND TIMELINE [8]

hmmm, a nice dress - it does not need to be white or ecru though (as the common stuff for a ceremony in the church) - for example, a friend of mine had a blue dress when she got married in registry office - all depends what makes you feel good...
