Life / So whats your opinion on the Polish health care system? [17]

I also heard that Polish nurses have to study for 5 years? While Uk nurses it's only 3

its 3 years to work as a general nurse, i.e those you meet in the hospital. though to specialise in something it takes 5 years.:)

I have taken a trip to the dentist, and was very impressed

i am also impressed by polish dentists, we both know how long and how bad the care is in the uk

No wonder we have problems with MRSA.

this is problem throughout the world, though in britain the media have exposed this, which is a good thing because it means the nhs have to deal with it, or else it would be swept under the carpet

Life / So whats your opinion on the Polish health care system? [17]

as a nurse myself, ive had mixed reviews on it, polish health care seems to be on a par with the uk....not that thats hard!! but one thing im really surprised at is the health care provided to the elderly. i visited one "nursing home" and left after a few minutes after an argument with the owners over personal care. 2 staff to look after 53 patients is far too much, also these patients(clients, it was private home) had various mental health issues which you cant expect the staff to fully understand how to deal with each one.

id like to know your experiences if any on this subject:)

You had better not ever, never go on a Polish train Michal. Who knows what they may do to you.

forgive me if i read too much into that, the internet and users are sometimes a little strange. though at first glance it does look a bit dodgy

News / When the currency of Poland to change into Euro? [14]

The people of Poland are not used to a free and open economy and that is also why Polish people in the service industry are so rude. The Poles have not taken grip of themselves and will have a dreadful shock if and when they allow the euro to come in. Over night, all prices will double and the poor of Poland will 'go to the wall'. Everywhere that has adopted the euro has regretted it.

shock horror, i agree with michal!!! yes im not a big fan of the euro too, but although some countries have problems adapting, they get there eventually. polish service has improved alot....mainly through tipping, which i always try and do because its such a hard job waiting on stag parties from the uk who are drunk ect...

News / When the currency of Poland to change into Euro? [14]

the złoty is doing very nicely against the pound at the moment.

yup im confused whether or not to transfer my cash across this month. though when i was last at nbp working they told me to wait an extram month till the american markets had an affect on poland. so till then its only zloty's for me:D

Life / popularity of sperm bank in Poland :) [15]

in the uk i think because of the threat of new laws, anyone going to a sperm bank would have to be mad, because it may in the future turn out that person receiving the donation can claim child benefit from the father.

for example take a look at this ridiculas piece of news

nacsa.co.uk/spermdonor.html

UK, Ireland / Polish people in UK travelling on holiday. [20]

as much as the civil service has their heads up theirs asses, at the mo there isnt much we can do. the brits dont get off their backsides to protest against anything, we just accept it on the chin. a good reason why the french have one up on us in that regards

UK, Ireland / Polish doctors fly over just to work in the UK [15]

i also agree that it shouldnt be allowed, not because polish doctors are not upto scratch, my private GP in Scotland was polish and a great Doc. But because that kind off work load can lead to mistakes happening, it doesnt matter how good your medical skills are, we shouldnt expect any medical professional to work those kind of hours.
