News / Why does Poland love the US? [144]

Giorgos

So instead of blabbering on, give us the magical solution.

and i have connections

mafia? bin liner? who?

What is happening to iraq is affecting hole world

I would say that the only people affected are those in Iraq and those who have lost loved ones serving there. Not exactly the worlds most pressing issue.

1) Killing inocent peole for profit (see petrol )

No war has ever passed when innocent people haven't been killed.

2) Having war supposetly for preventing terrorist hits

A country should always have the right to defend its people, whether on home soil or abroad.

3) Being away from your country ,when nobody asked you

Its the price you pay for being a soldier, you serve abroad.

4) People that you liberate from one dictator, don't need an other one multi national

Most people would rather replace an evil dictator for something else.

5) Be an occupation army

Most armies throughout history are occupation armies. Its how long their politicians keep them in a country that matters. I.E pulling out f Iraq would leave that country in a worse position.

Work / Nursing job for a foreigner - hard to get in Poland? [14]

Some site, though after reading it, its about a year old, though wages remain the same, the exchange rate is really p1ssing me of, i mean, i have to work an extra 36hrs a year in the UK, thats a whole week of drinking out of my diary:D:D:D

Work / Nursing job for a foreigner - hard to get in Poland? [14]

One tip i do is to work abroad for a few months each year, then move back to Poland, money ive earned from UK pays for my rent for the year. So wages i earn in Poland pay for other things.

Work / Nursing job for a foreigner - hard to get in Poland? [14]

from what i know, its about 1200pln PCM, though it varies alot.

Took this from the net...

The union has asked the government for a minimum gross monthly wage of 1400 zloty (£499; $332). Polish nurses currently earn an average of 700 zloty a month. The average monthly wage in Poland is 2000 zloty. The health minister, Grzegorz Opala, said that nurses' wages will be increased by at least 203 zloty this year. The head of the nurses and midwives' union, Bozena Banachowicz, called the increase unsatisfactory.

Travel / Krakow going down the toilet! [184]

I think it all stems from the drinking laws in Britain. The whole getting drunk before the last round nonsense. A trap many tourists make is drinking Polish beer like its the same back home, it usually ends up with a few of the group being totally p1ssed. Which means the whole group are labled the same and cant get into pubs or clubs. Dont get me wrong, i have not much against the stags, only when their wearing that stupid borat swim-suit! that should be banned from all countries:D

are there many hen parties there as well?

Ive only seen one Hen party, they had a good time. Theres a running joke with my students that the female Brits are locked up at home because we hardly see any;):D

Your Irish right dtaylor

Technically German, but ill shush about that ;)

But I wouldn't dream of making such an ill-informed and racially prejudice assertion.

My judgement comes from living in Krakow for the past 2 years, and being embarrassed by the Brits coming here.

most British tourists have getting seved in bars implies wholesale discrimination.

Because most British tourists are drunken baffoons, you only need to check out Ibiza, the Costa del sol, Prague....the list is endless.

This is a joke and is nothing short of racial discrimination.

Discriminating againstloud mouth drunks, thats all. Pub owners prefer to keep their customers happy, not watch them all dissapear after a group of stags come through the door.

It wouldn't happen in Britain

Sorry, but i guess thats your loss.

I must admit, but Krakow is slowly going down the pan, ive been living here for 2 years and although i hate the cold, i pray for winter. Though i wouldn't say its all down to the poles taking advantage of the tourists, as the 3 most popular places for stags to go are owned by brits.

News / Should Polish citizens living abroad have the right to vote in elections [69]

I dont see how a worker in a different country should have the right to vote, to vote, you must pay taxes to that country, if you are not living in the country at time of the elections, then why do you have the right. The point that you have moved to different country for short term work means you arent prepared to work in the country of your origin.

He's a nurse in Poland so I don't think he's taken a Poles job.

yeah, lowering yourself to that level would be far too much for any decent human being to do
