Love / Presents for my other half, Lukasz from Poland. [35]

I usualy get book :)

Lol. That's all you get?
Sorry, just kidding. I like books too, specially the ones with a lot of pictures.
Like pgtexas said, what are his interests? How long you know him? How close are you? How much do you want to spend?

Make him a Polish romantic meal with candles.
Take him to an Opera ( hehe, we don't know if he likes that)
Some nice clothes.
A new digital camera.
A new comfortable chair so he can watch his football and drink (spill ) beer in.

You can't. You're only a guest and guests can't do that.

Life / First Racial Attack for me in Poland [158]

Thats bad luck griff, it was probably a Pole who had a bad experience in England or who's girl friend dumped him and married an English bloke.

That's what I was thinking too.

UK, Ireland / Cold and ignorant Polish girls living in the UK [128]

Some Eastern Europeans lack certain social skills

I wouldn't say they lack social skills, they are just brought up that way and they don't see it otherwise.
When pictures were taken in Polish schools they tell you not to smile. In the US it's just the opposite.
Different cultures, different beaviours.

i think you just want some attention
pretty sad really

He's got the right to his opinion. You can't call someone names or belittle him because he see's things differently than others and is more observant.

I live close to a very touristy town. They hire Eastern Europeans for the summer to work in amusement parks, hotels, restaurants. They are mainly from Russia, Poland, Romania, etc. Their service is terrible. They never smile, they seam always mad, barely speak English. You can't campare them to American workers where they are required to smile and treat the cusotomer as always right. The European workers never smile, they will argue with the customer and their service is very bad. They only come here for a summer job.

One girl from Poland said she can't wait to go back. They just do it for the money.

Borowiki, sorry. Borówki are red berries I think.

I don't know what this mushroom is called in English.

Borowik is a Boletus.
I got some big ones on my property. I'll take a picture later.

They seem cold because they only come to the UK to work.
They want to concentrate on their job.
They are not unterested in a new relationship.
They might have boyfriends at home.
They're not happy.
They miss Poland.

News / 44 killed, 650 injured in Poland in road accidents during the weekend [32]

'so what? Life is very short anyway'.

But life is so exciting!
I know some older people in Poland and they are so sad, no excitement, just waiting to die. I know older people in the US, they are full of excitemnet, color their hair, get new teeth, wigs, they want to look young and in Poland they think it's not natural to have fake things all over. Just a different culture and outlook on life.
