UK, Ireland / Heading to London.Whats there to see? [45]

watch out for thieiving pick pockets in busy times :( also you might want to try the london tourist bus (open top red double decker)

people watching is and also very entertaining London :)

Imperial War museum

Tate Modern

Have a walk across london bridge and a walk around the locks some cheap pubs around there and nice to sit out if the weather is nice - if you dont want to eat in a bar then buy a sandwich and just sit somewhere nice...

Go and look at the changing of guard at the palace (never done it you could tell me all about it on your return)

These are all free things, round Covernt Garden there is always street entertainment which is free (if you look the other way when they come for payment)

lol Camden markets sells, hand made jewellery (pretty cheap) and stuff like that - as for eating, it really doesnt have to be expensive, its like any big city, you can get a slice of pizza and eat on the go or you can go in some "English Cafe" and have cup of tea and baked potatoe also cheap, honestly London is as expensive or cheap as you make it if you're there only a few days - a football shirt would probably cost about £40.00 / £45.00 depending on the team :) but you can get knock offs (fakes)...

UK, Ireland / How expensive is living in UK/London for one person? [23]

Your friend has a point to a certain degree - here is the reason.

After xmas is a good time the job market gets moving, people who have been putting off changing their jobs because of xmas start to move on... Nov & Dec are probably not a good time the job market is a bit stagnant, but thats not to say that there wont be any jobs, but there might not be the choice.

just drop me an email if you need any more info happy to help

as for salaries check out this website - its quite a good indicator and you can check all parts of the country

Manchester is a far nicer city than London, much friendlier and a cheaper and sarlaries are comparable - lots of southerners moving here because there is plenty of work and you get more for your money, plus the night life is the best :) Plus Manchester & Liverpool airport fly to a few destinations in Poland.

Love / Advice Required for UK Man in love with Polish Woman [26]

You have heard the men now hear a womans point of view, she is a selfish b*tch with no morals, she has several men on the go and leaves her 13 year old child in Poland! I think you need to drop her like a hot potatoe! What would you think if an English woman behaved like this?

well from what i know polish economy is improving, because everyone (ok not everyone but a lot of poles) goes to work to the uk/italy/germany and when they come back to poland they spend the money in poland a not in the countries they have earned the money

Rent, clothes, food, utilities, travel, sundries....lol..of course they are not spending it in the country were they are :) Oh lets not forget electrical goods and the odd good night out :)

Maybe he just thought he'd let the retard have his say :)

History / Jews...and their Polish experience [520]

So why do some Jews wear black clothes? In part this came about because the medieval church and state demanded that Jews wear black at all times. The European countries generally decreed so-called “sumptuary” laws (The Latin word sumere refers to spending or consuming). These laws required each social class in the feudal system to wear clothes appropriate to their rank. Hence, the upper class wore gaudy clothes of many colors and ornamented profusely. By law, Jews were non-persons and had to wear black clothes so they could be identified at once. The Jews also had to wear a yellow armband or star or other mark. This was abandoned in the eighteenth century but re-instituted by the European killers during the years 1933-1945.

Black clothes are also known to Jews as a symbolic expression divrai yirah shomayim, which means “fearing heaven”. To some Jews life is very serious and the Jew is always conscious of his relationship to G’d. Therefore black is worn so as to avoid frivolity and also place distance between the wearer and everyone else.

Orthodox Jews also wear a prayer belt called a g*rtel in German or Yiddish. This belt is to indicate that the wearer separates his upper body from his lower body as the head is the location of all that is inspired while our bottom serves lesser purposes.

Many orthodox Jewish men also wear a black hat and some wear a streimel , i.e. a fur lined hat. The hat style may vary according to the European origin of a Chassidic sect. Therefore, Lithuanians may wear a different head covering than Galicians, although all will wear a skull cap all day.The wearing of the skull cap, also known as a kippa or yarmulka, shows respect for G’d, who is thought to live in heaven above us. Hence we separate ourselves from the divine presence by wearing a hat or cap at all times.

Hope this answers some of your questions regarding "why do jews"

Life / Beach fashion. Are Polish youth into baggy or tighter clothing? [48]

so what do British wear on the beach then?

shorts of some kind or another or footy shorts defo not boykinis...lol I love that word :)

I dont care how fit a bloke is, its enough to put a girl off her lunch seeing a bloke with speedos on...its just wrong wrong wrong. I also hate women that wear thongs on the beach its just not nice to see someones ass hanging out (I know men are not going to object to this though)

Also when they wear shorts they tend to pull their socks all the way up like baseball/soccer players - lol i think it looks funny. I guess they don't sell ankle socks in PL.

This is something I noticed...how strange (trainer socks havent hit PL yet :) )

News / Revenge or Justice? Vetting Laws in Poland [18]

johan123

you are right I dont understand but I dont see the point in raking up things, what about the Poles that fort with the Germans in WWII because they feared for their families and were told either fight with us or we kill your family????- what about them or are they exempt from bad treatment

Life / Beach fashion. Are Polish youth into baggy or tighter clothing? [48]

If you happen to make it to the beach, be aware that most men wear bikini briefs or tight boy shorts. I was wearing surfer shorts and stood out like a sore thumb, but you wont get a boykini on me :)

Thats just wrong - I thought it was just the Greeks, Italians and old men that wore speedos

As for clothing in Poland I saw no big difference in the way men dressed in Krakow to what they dress in the UK...

I saw that on the news he wants shooting, I cant believe he got on a flight and has endangered all those people

P, TB is making a come back in the UK but they put it down to the immigrants (not European) those from 3rd world countries...
