UK, Ireland / 13,000 Polish births this year, in the UK [180]

I do find it ironic that a post about the importance of grammar lacks so many apostrophes.

This is a forum, I wasn't aware you were judging my writing skills!

Isn't your wife a 3rd world immigrant? How are her writing skills?

UK, Ireland / Irish Primary schools to teach Polish [223]

And you think that the reasons behind these Polish lessons are not similar to a school that has a lot of children speaking Urdu ?

It might be because Brits are actually going to Poland to live, marrying Poles etc, how many English/Irish/Scots are going to live in india or pakistan? At least Polish might be useful to some kid in the future, which is more than can be said for urdu!

Travel / How do i stay in poland longer than 90 days if im already in poland [37]

This is not a modern and civilized country and NOBODY in these offices will lift a finger to help you.

Yet you decide to stay? You are currently and illegal immigrant, so I'd stop bitaching about it if I were you!

I despise people like you spreading lies like this.

He was referring to this:

The USA is a joke in terms of immigration, Even though Britain stands behind the US on all their ridiculous wars for oil they still won't let us come and visit without loads of ridiculous paperwork so much for the "special relationship" hey,

All we get in terms of thanks is loads of friendly fire killing our troops.

Why not, if you have Irish blood I have no problem with that.

I look more Irish than ya average paddy ;0)

Once you are not in the BNP.

I oppose this.

Be thankful its not fooking urdu like in England!

Foreign exchange programmes should be introduced. If a child spent a month in France, doing schoolwork in French, I guarantee their skills in that language would improve ten fold.

They are in the UK, my friends daughter spent 2 weeks out in France and some French kid came to stay with her...

Life / 15 year old girl, separated parents, father won't allow her to travel overseas [8]

I really don't think parental responsibility/rights can be "struck off"

He can relinquish his rights as a parent, thus giving sole custardy to the mother, therefore enabling her to take whatever action she has to with regards to her daughter without seeking permission off the father, or thats how it is in the UK.

Well, from what Ive been told, Polish kids work hard and are eager to learn and even those with limited English lang. skills are pretty much fluent within a couple of months...Yet those that are born here (asians) don’t come to school with English and struggle massively, african immigrant children also struggle ,those who speak arabic are the worst, those that purport to speak English (nigerian) have real problems with grammar and pronunciation. Its not racist, its a fact, some nationalities hold education in high regard, thus put the time in with their children, others dont.

My father was a displaced Polish soldier, who fought very hard to keep Britain free.

So he was here since the late 1940s, which makes you in your 50s, which means you must have lived in some right dog rough area when you were growing up to have been amongst such scum...Or you are a liar.

We have all married English people and have added our hard working and clever Polish/Dutch genes to the gene pool. Oh yes my dad married a Dutch lady.

That's very good, Im sure that the Dutch and Polish side the family were ecstatic to have such wondeful genes introduced in to their pool!

We would often be in our terraced house listening to the lazy, drunken men from England and we lived in the centre of benefit land

Is that where you met your wife?

drunken men from England and we lived in the centre of benefit land

You should have told your wife to tell her dad to get a job, no?

A rise in the birthrate among foreign families is putting significant squeeze on primary school places, according to MPs.

Poles aren't the major problem, those from 3rd world countries are, Polish kids are very bright, Ive had it on good authority from a teacher I know, she has a friend at a catholic school, unfortunately she works in a C&E school who have major problems.

But in the same period, birthrates among UK families rose by six per cent.

I like to think that our family are doing our bit ;0)

I see why you had so much hunger in Ireland in the past. These tactiques don't work.

Southern I'll give you a quick history lesson:

Irish starved to death in the 1,000s because of the blight and any food that was grown that lived was shipped to England to feed the English!

And Asian textile workers only really came over in the 1950s - 150 years after the northern English white working class started slaving 15 hours a day in them! It's funny how the liberals always seem to forget this

Well trying to explain about the Peterloo Massacre to an ignoran immigrant like Raghead would be a complete waste of time!

As for 15 hours, make that 20 and you're getting close to how they were worked half to death in the mills in Lancashire, this is why is p*sses me off that these pakis come over here and send this country back centuries, people died fighting for the rights of workers in my town!

The authorities are to blame ,not the unproportunal levels as we see today.

They didnt have a crystal ball, how could they know how many people would arrive, the French and Germans and Italians and Spanish didnt come in the numbers that the A8 members did, had they known they would have used the same system that Germany did.

Shelley, I can tell you that paying for tax and ZUS, plus flat usually leaves you with very little.

I can tell you that paying tax, insurance, pension, flat, utilities, tv, plus the rest can be a strain on the finances too, like I said if I was on minimum wage Id have to work over 70 hours a week to survive

Language / PRONUNCIATION OF ENGLISH WORDS IN POLAND [24]

Shaving Mousse is a type of product and the name is used by native speakers of English such as the good people

It would be foam in all honesty - mousse would be more a hair product. But I suppose both could be correct, but as English person living in England Ive never heard anyone say they use shaving mousse on their legs, it's always shaving foam. At the same time, I certainly wouldnt find it in any way shape or form amusing if I saw shaving mousse written in a foreign hotel.

slavery?

What the fook are you talking about man! I think you mean America, in the early 20th century maids and buttlers in this country were white, not black or asian in this country.

lol, Grunwald is a sharp kid.

Actually he's quite stupid because he was completely wrong.

It's understandable that many Poles would want to leave as I've heard some jobs for 5PLN per hour here. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's 5.35p/h as the minimum wage in the UK (5.15?). In real terms, that's about 19/20PLN. More and more I see people handing out fliers/leaflets and they get peanuts for it. They are getting protectionist but doing so in the UK. What is the national minimum wage in Poland?

But what is the average price for rent in Poland? It's all relative really. I'd have to work 70 hours per week to survive on minimum wage (UK minimum) and pay my bills.

I though the same,cheecky :)

The only time slave labour became aparent in this country was when aisans opened factories, because my uncle paid his white working class all female machinists a good living! But like anything that was any good in this country it was replaced by nasty cheap imports from 3rd world countries, that fall apart in 2 minutes, because the people making them have no pride in what they do!

Are eastern europeans still entering the UK job market? Is there any evidence that they are leaving in large numbers? Is there resentment?

I think its safe to say that there is a certain degree of resentment, not only towards member of A8 countries but more so towards those from outside of the EEA, I would say the fact the BNP got a couple of seats in the recent European elections pretty much sums up the feeling in the country.

Not sure they are leaving in large numbers, but the figures for those arriving are dropping, a friend of mine went back to Poland in December he's just come back because he wasnt prepared to work for minimum wage (5zl) when he can earn about £30K here for the skills he has.

This is a phenomenon exist everywhere, native loves it in boom time, because other nations does the unwanted jobs, but they want those jobs back in bust time

The native? The English have been unhappy with immigration since the 1950s - we were quite capable of cleaning our own loos and serving in bars and working in shops, in fact all my local pubs have English people behind the bar (always have done) and my local Sainsburys has all English staff (always has done) on the tills. You seem to look at it through foreign eyes, you simply cant see it from an indiginous persons point of view, because you are not an indiginous English man. The "unwanted" jobs is a myth created by the press, who do you think did these before we had immigration? It will be the same people that will do them if we leave the EU and work on a strict points based system.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most young people aren't really aware of, or interested in joining their Labour Unions or Trade Unions anymore?

You're wrong, most companies dont have trades unions any more in the UK (Thatcher saw an end to them), the larger companies that do have them, have many members old and young.

It is the elephant in the room. The unions are too frightened to mention it. But in private, thats a different story. Mass immigration has driven down wages and working conditions for the average worker in Ireland. Yet, the price of rents and services have soared due to demand. Thus creating a bubble.

Its the same in the UK.

You could also argue that if the job wasnt applied for within 4 weeks of it being posted in the job center, then the company could have the right to look elsewhere.

Well since we have more applicants than jobs in this country, its highly unlikely that this is going to happen and I am talking about companies who never advertised the jobs in the UK, they used foreign agencies abroad directly, but like I have said, this is no longer allowed, I wonder how these agencies abroad manage now their direct source has been cut off, having said that, even if someone English applies for a job they dont need to employ them, they can quite happily say "sorry couldnt find the right candidate"

These are relatively new ruliings, before they brought this in, companies were advertising abroad straight away, therefore not even giving an indiginous English person a chance at applying for the job based in England.

Well, technically it is, but it happens, a company is not allowed to discriminate based on nationality, sex, age or religion, but as we see, there are companies out there seeking to employ people based on their nationality. Can you imagine if an ad. was posted stating they only wanted English people, oh was a stir that would cause, we'd be called racist and all sorts!

He said when he employed people from Poland they came into work on time, their clothes were nicely ironed, they were polite to customers, didn't take sick days, always reliable, etc

Gosh how did a country that colonised half the world ever manage before they entered the EU? LOL..

Life / I'm an American who lived in Poland for 6 years. I'm not welcome anymore. [169]

With a population of 1 billion I would expect there are more rich people in India, your comment was a bit stupid, dont you think? They still cant look after their own people though and a large proportion of your countrymen sh^t in the street have no access to medial facilities and you havent even managed to upgrade your railway system since we installed it. As for my perceptions, I am quite happy with them, Indians are looked down upon in the UK and always will be, rich or not, money does not buy respect.

I recently went to visit a friend and a Indian who was born in Britain started to talk to me on the coach about his recent visit to Canada to visit his extremely rich relatives, he didnt know me from adam but couldnt wait to tell me all about them...I just thought it was quite pathetic, it just showed how shallow and how you think it impresses people to tell them how well you are doing or in his case how well his family in Canada are doing, personally I didnt feel the need to tell him about my families personal circumstances, because quite frankly he was a stranger and the English are above that.

UK, Ireland / What is it with black culture in the UK? [22]

And how do you even begin to define Black?

Errm, someone with black skin.

How is any of that a Black Culture Issue?

Guns, knife crime, jack rolling, rape is more prevalent amongst blacks...do you need to me to go on?

channel4.com/programmes/dispatches/articles/rape-in-the-city-related-articles

The above are already here and born here!

We let these people in to the uk

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/8107039.stm

As for knife crimes - they keep reporting stabbings in the news all the time so young people think they need a knife to protect themselves, which in turn leads to even more knife crimes and so on and so forth...

Look at the stats for knifings and you will see that the majority of crimes are black on black.

Shelley are you a communist?

I dont think so, Ive never really considered myself as one, but I find your comment a bit funny, a bit like some American in the 1980s.

I didnt see anything in the link you gave me apart from a few none discript comments (one liners) and a box where I could comment, was your point that no one could comment? Welcome to censorship.
