Language / ż ź dź dż sz cz ś ć - which give most problems to foreigners? [65]

Well ch as in chleb was this ch with a little bit of spit (like in arabic) and the h was smooth, like in Hull. I think this difference faded somehow and probably very few people would recognize them now. Poles (especially teens) confuse them in writing very often, which looks really terrible.

So nowadays, "h" and "ch" are pronounced the same ?...i always thought there was a difference, i thought that the "h" was softer than the "ch", til i asked my mum...

:)

No, the Constitution was made just after the American one, it's the first Constitution in Europe and the second one in the world, in the 1790's.

The independence was recovered on November, 11 1918

Which of them (title) is the biggest problem for foreigners?

I'd say "ź" and "ż" for English-speaking persons... :) The others are quite easy...actually, it depends...

ch-h

Oh ! Good you're talking about that ! I'd like to know if Poles make a difference between "h" and "ch" ? My mother told me she doesn't...

Swedes can imitate English more easily than Poles, this is the point here I think!!

Is there anything surprising here ?...

History / WW2: Britain Declares War on Germany to Save Poland [290]

I think that we did actually and for you to say anything else is damn well disrespectful

What's disrespectul is forgetting that many others fought to death. They brought altogether the final "victory". England didn't save the world, they helped, they're among the so-called "winners". I'm not going to change my mind on that point, don't waste your time.

Good night and nice snowboarding, lucky you :)

Agree with me

Did i ? I agree that trees are green, than the sky is blue...but i never agreed on the "England saved the world", maybe England saved your world, not ours.

Poles tend to forget this fact and instead keep repeating the Nazi and Soviet propaganda about how the UK did nothing to help Poland

At the beginning of the war, yes. Then Britain did a great job. There's noone to deny it.

Quoting: Polson
Personally, i think that noone won

Thats just about the most stupid thing you could have said at this point in the argument

I'm sad you didn't get this, but that's true. 70 million people died. Many cities totally destroyed. What did you win then, tell me ? You were the last one to pull the trigger, that makes you so happy ?...

Its not only about fighting its about drawing together the resourecs neccesary to win the battle and I believe we did that

The war was not only between England and Germany. There were battles everywhere in the world, and every victories were important. So, yes, England, or the UK (better) did much, but not all. The only problem here is that you claim than England won the war. Personally, i think that noone won. So many losses, too much harm...

England on its own would never have won, i'm sorry to tell you that, but that's the truth.

The British were a beacon of light for the World at this time and thank god goodness prevailed, had Hitler beaten Us who knows what world we would be living in right now

Don't think that Britain was the only nation to fight. The countries defeated continued to resist. Many of those resistants died. They deserve as many honours than your Britain, bud :)

Sweden was never occupied!! Or Switzerland!!

Switzerland is a "special" case...
Norway was invaded as Finland. Sweden were neutral but provided materials to Germany...

Ok so from 1940 who was helping the UK in the battle of Britian

Polish pilots fought alongside British pilots, and they did great job.
Then, later, Americans.

Once again, the fact that the UK is an island helped you. France and many other continent Allies were defeated. Some of their soldiers who survived joined your forces, i mean your grandfathers forces...

they had been planning and preparing for it since 1937

Not longer ?...

We Britian stood alone for two years then Germany invaded Russia.

You were not alone. Other nations fought on your side, but your too blind or too "proud" to admit it.

I hardly think the slavs were greater just more in numbers the Russians lost 18,000,000 in that war. Twice as many as the germans

I didn't say that some were greater than others ;)

Simply the Slavs with aryan characteristics are in greater proportion in general population than the Westerners with aryan characteristics.Germans discovered it when they tried to recruit Slavs in SS and stopped recruitement because of that

Hehe ;) Eventually they discovered that the "greater race" was not them, but Slavs, and most particularly Poles ;P LoL That's why Hitler commited suicide, so confused, that's the truth ;)

The Saxe-Coburg-Gothas from Hanover

Haha true :)

Thats exactly what I said. And even if we didnt we declared war on germany and made a stand before we even consulted the allies/colonialists. A noble and stance would you not agree?

Haha, you can give a kiss to the Channel (the sea), that's why Germans had so many difficulties, because you are not on the "same continent", if you see what i mean. If a big part of Europe lost, it's because it was "easy" to access their territory (and even more when they had no army for some of them...) while the UK was protected by the sea. Don't think you are "greater" than any other nation, please. You can thank Germans too for having made the big strategical mistake to attack the USSR while still attacking you.

I know France sucked, and particularly the gov, they collaborated, don't think i'm proud of it. I'm proud of those who fought, and there were not only Johnsons, Wilsons, etc. there were also Moulin, De Gaulle, Anders, and so on...

Plus i'm also half Polish, and i'm proud of Poland, they did not collaborate, they fought, they resisted, and they won.

Yes,I wonder. Can you tell me why?

Nope, the vid doesn't work, but for once, can you explain without any vid ?...
