News / Why does Poland love the US? [144]

What don't you buy? Most people that have troops in Iraq never had problems with Iraq.

News / Why does Poland love the US? [144]

There are also a lot of American Greeks that DON'T support their country. How do you see friendship with Russia as more of a benefit?

So, you think that Poland deserves sth more than friendship because they have soldiers in Iraq? What do you think they deserve? Is just friendship not enough?

Greece anti-USA? I don't understand...They're all here (including yourself). We have a large Greek population here, so your statement confuses me.

Travel / Krakow going down the toilet! [184]

I've experienced both belligerent British and Polish denied at the door. If you're obviously drunk, they don't want you passing out or fighting. If there were a gang of rowdy people at an establishment I owned, I wouldn't let them in either...regardless of where they're from. Some British own these bars, so it's not only PL pubs.

UK, Ireland / Aberdeen's Baltic Adventure [6]

I've posted this in one of noimmigrations threads. Thought it was an interesting read.

Some natives fled to live an almost mercenary life, fighting on the continent in the many wars which convulsed Europe at that time. However, a peaceful army of farmers, traders and what became skilled town planners, formed their very own Diaspora on the fringes of the Baltic Sea, settling in Lithuania, Germany and Eastern Prussia, mainly in regions now within Polish borders.

Maybe the need to switch networks or sth. It's possible the provider has horrible routing or sth. The 0048 or the + should be working.

News / My Tribute To Poland [29]

It has an extremely religious population not unlike countries of the middle east except every1 is extremest catholics not muslims.

Extremest catholic? Are you sure you were in Poland? I'm not confronted everywhere with religion and people aren't throwing religion at me from all directions. Yes, they're mostly christian, but it isn't forced upon you. How can you compare this to a strict Muslim country?

Gender roles are the norm and homophobia and bigotry is widely accepted. I have also heared bribing of law officials is also accepted!

Have you ever been to the south in the US?

Do you not think that US officials are bribed on a daily basis?

Sounds like a lot of this is YOUR opinion.

News / My Tribute To Poland [29]

It's very pretty but I would never want to live in a 2nd world country. Alot of south american countries are pretty but I would never want to live their either. Poland is just too backwards and religious. I think it will change once they become more of a part of the EU. After 20 or so years I am sure it will be better there but for now it's just so corrupt and backwards as a result of the occupation.

And how long was it that you lived there? Backwards in what ways?

BTW You live in one the most corrupt countries in the world.

Food / Maple syrup [14]

VT syrup is better

VT syrup is great! I especially love the maple sausage they make.

I might've seen some pure maple syrup in Piotr i Pawel. I'm not positive though.

Nope. We have childrens size snack bag, adult size snack bag, big bag and family size bags. All depends on how hungry you are.

Bee is also in a few different sizes.

Life / When to greet strangers in Poland or not.. [30]

what I am getting at is how comes Poles say hello to each other specifically (and bizarrely to me) at the doctors, but apparently nowhere else.

What's so strange about saying hello or good day? We do it here in the US...when I go to the dr, enter a store or walking by someone in teh mtns....it's called being friendly.
