Life / Are Polish People Racist? [1037]

wishful thinking... doubt if it will benefit poland.

The world is going through a very dangerous time right now and its hard to know where things will go but what is sure is that the structure of the worlds economy is ready for a big swing. The lack of oil will see to that

true, poland will come out second best and will be at a disadvantage...sorry

Real Estate / Real estate in poland - how an average Pole can afford such prices? [78]

poland has silly rules regarding real estate.

In oz land if you have no conscience you become a real estate salesman.. I carn't understand that in poland real estate agents can act on on behalf of the seller and the purchaser (what about conflict of interest)????

FIRST - you shouldn`t buy a real estate directly from the previous owner - cose this issue is quite tricky - and I don`t know if you realize that, but i.e. it`s possible to sell one real estate to many people at the same time becaouse the ownership has to be changed in KW, and the previous owner might "forget" to do that and sell the property to 2 or 3 people during one day..

I see your point but would it not be cheaper buying direct from the owner as you would be avoiding the 3% commission or agents fees. Using a solicitor would avoid double ownership

Don't think so. Have French or Italians abandoned their food for burgers or hot dogs?? No! And neither will poles.

As time goes on you will find children will be voting with there mouths and like the US and Oz land, take away food is extremely popular.

Go to any Mcdonalds store in Poland and see how children are addicted to take away.

Take away goes beyond Mcdonalds and for many people it is cheaper and less time consuming than preparing a meal.

As per previous post, I don't think Polish food is that crash hot , things like bigos and pierogi are heavy foods which are good to have occasionally only.

this board is a bit of a joke....guys!

Get lost. I thought being Irish, drinking would be high on your list

EB is an excellent beer

Polish vodka comes in many flavours and brands, maybe you just tasted the cheapest!

thats the point I'm making, you have to put a flavor into vodka to make it drinkable.

A good scotch or brandy you can enjoy straight, and each brand has as a differant taste.

Could I ask Dobre Wujek to explain the origins of vodka in poland?

You can get a credit for as much as 1.50% per month.. everything depends on the courrency.. the bank.. and the loan..

Most loans in overseas countries are around 6%, if you can get me a life long loan at 1.5% for say 300,000 zl I will bare my bum in Bourke street, (I will bare my bum in ......... street)

I would love to have a second opinion from poles living in poland, sorry wujek but your all over the place.

but the problem with junkfood is that in most cases it dosn`t even taste good.

If you want to eat bigos and pierogi all your life then be my quest, but don't impose your point of view to everyone else.. The health issue connected with take away food is a serious issue, if you want to be part of the western world then you have to accept what they have.

Western style take away food, from hamburgers to fish and chips will take over traditional food in poland in the future.

Work / Italian girl moving to Poland, where I can ask for a job? [60]

Your figure seems rather high?... However, England is the mother country, I'm sure most aussies feel quite at home when in GB, I'm sure I would.

Like I mentioned in a previous post, the country where you live is where you best feel at home, GB and Australia have a lot in common... remember the Queen of England is the head of state in Australia...Australians have a lot of respect for the monachy and the British people.

Many artists go to GB to develope talents etc, England is the best training ground in the arts and theatre.
Without going overboard GB produce the best films, comedies, and documentaries, it has the most outstanding actors.
Most people I have spoken to who have gone to GB for a work experience speak very highly of there time, but say things are very expensive.

or dossing!

LOL, (I had to consult the dictionary to find the meaning of the word)

Well, this is bullshit... lef.

An IP check schould clear that:

I bet it`s either:

or british

mmmmm,,,, well what can I say mmmm.... perhaps wujek would do the honorable thing and apologize for making such horrible allegations... lets see what a man wujek is?

And regarding the loan, it seems that a family of four, with a monthly income of 2500 zł netto can take a loan of 215 000 zł in Bank Pocztowy ( percentage is 6,20% ).
A single person, earning 3500 zł netto can take a loan of 375 015 zł in BOŚ ( 5,38%).

Without going in circles, what can a person buy for 215000zl, and what is he repaying per month... thats the question wujek cannot understand, he also stated bank loans was in the high 3's, the above post claims it is 6.20%.

It was mentioned on our polish radio, that banks are now only allowing loans of only 50% of equity because they understand property prices are inflated..

I'm sure banks in every country take into account a clients earning capacity, expenditures, and value of property before given out loans.. (always remember banks never loose money)

Nothing better than kangaroo meat.

kangaroo meat is very clean meat....still not a common meat for human consumption..although getting more popular.

I bet you didn't know but kangaroo meat is the best meat to give to pets ie dogs or cats!

English are very materialistic and comfortable - I have impression more young generation. They want everything, nice cars, holidays abroad, house....

I think most would like this, some more than others....(I'm sure most poles would like a new house. car, trip etc) I would.

what an ignorant bastard.i drink vodka and enjoy it much more than some australian beer which tastes like kangaroo pee live alone cheap and disguisting australian wine. i would rather drink my urine than that stuff.
POLISH VODKA 40% RULES!

I thought you were on my side, ?.... please tell me what brand of beer you tasted? cheap wine yes, disgusting? ask a wine expert and you may be surprised what he tells you.. mmmm.

Poland has good beers, l liked EB beer (please note it has a kangaroo on the label)

Vodka, (I'm not a lover of vodka) vodka has no taste, it has only the effect of getting you drunk, and the more alcohol (40%) the better.

I wonder what the history of wodka is in poland, when it was introduced and in what circumstances?

I have the occasional glass of red wine or Tasmanian Beer

What about displaying some manners lady, manners please.

After reading your post one could come to a conclusion that there are no businesses run by polish people in Poland

Undoubtedly poles are good at businesses, the point I was trying to make poles, are going to GB to make money, people from GB are coming to Poland to make money, ironical iisn"t it.

So instead of working 2 years in the UK and then returning to Poland with 10k or more sterling it would of course be better

all I was saying is that sort of money is nothing to write home about..I'ts better than nothing I suppose.

When was the last time you were in Poland - because it's at least 50% cheaper than in the UK, STOP TALKING CRAP! but then again what can one expect from someone from Aus

This shows how expensive things are in England
In Australia the prices are quickly getting same as in poland especially for food, and meat.

A smart shopper here can pick a a carton (20kg) of oranges for 15$AU.. approx 35zl or potatoes 20kg for $12Au.

Poducts such as cheeses are dearer in poland.

Pork and chickens taste better in poland (almost equal in price here)
The red meat offered in shops in poland would only be offered up as animal food here.

Poland has very little lamb, veal or beef.

Beer is about the same price here, vodka is cheaper in Poland.

Homes are cheaper in Poland and so is rent.

The only problem is that workers here earn 4 times more than there counterparts in Poland.

When Was I last in Poland.....(Have been there 10 times, x 3 months) last time 2 years ago.

Going back soon.

Nonsense - they will return to Poland with a lot of money.British currency is the world's strongest currency at the moment and when they return to Poland with £ 10,000- £ 25000 cash they will definitely not think they have made a mistake.Wake up.

Truebrit are you for real, that sort of money is only chicken feed and it won't go a long way.., I've come to the conclusion that its better to work in the west and spend you money on vocations in poland...living and working in poland has so many stresses and nothing is certain.

This is bullshit - see above.

Some people are doing very nicely thank you very much but please consider the vast majority of people on fixed income, pensioners and the unemployed.

Poland is paying for western prices and earning eastern wages. ( welcome to the EU) and the situation will not hold on. It seems the small percentage of rich people in poland are having a field day all under the protection of the EU parliament.

It may pay wujek to open your eyes when you are next in the supermarket or walking the streets of a night time, you may get a shock in what you see.

Work / Italian girl moving to Poland, where I can ask for a job? [60]

I've from the UK and I live in Poland. I initially started by teaching English and although I qualified as a tefl certificate, there are still opportunies if you don't have one. You should be able to teach italian or at least hold conversation classed. I have since set up a couple of businesses, one is an apartment rental business and the other is a real estate business in krakow

Interesting mmmm... why carn't those eductated poles which dobre wojek is talking about set up businesses in poland, why does it take a person from the UK ( school teacher at that) the courage to take up setting up a real estate business??.

Poles what are you doing?

yeah, yeah,

Here in the UK we have no problem with anyone except them.

Most people who settle in a foreign country try and do the right thing unless they are given a hard time by the locals.. (thiis may be case in the UK) if they are terrorist send them back home.

Remember the UK has not got a good track record for being racially tolerant, sorry.

News / A Strange sight going to a train station- Warning to Poland [4]

As you all know, I live in the land down under. I caught a train to go to Melbourne, the train company was owned by CONNEX a few months later I visited south east poland and wow and behold I caught a train.. guess what was on the side of the train, you guessed it, it was connex]

This raises a question of multi national companies owning essential goods and services, who would have thought a train company operating in poland and australia were the same?

This lends a question of what may happen to Poland in the future, privatization of water, gas, electricity, if this occurs in Poland it will be a disaster, like it has been in Australia and UK..(see what is happending with water being privatized in the UK).

It is only hoped that poles will not allow essential commodities to be in the hands of greedy business people.. if they do, they will pay for it in the future...

EVERY country in a similar share but it some countries poeople are afraid to speak up

Most people speak there mind, and most people do the right thing here, I was supprised that a lot of hatred is shown against the pakistanis in england, they present no problem in australia.

The biggest problem facing the western world now is Islam These people have a self interest, who use the system, cry discrimination, and are not prepared to assimilate

News / OK, how bad is the economic situation in Poland? [47]

The Polish economy - since 1990 is in a constant boom - there has been a slowdown

You know my blood boils when I here this type of nonsense, boom, boom, boom, well tell me my good wujek why are so many people leaving poland for a better way of life and why are so many people struggling to make ends meet (poverty increasing rapidly) sorry wujek, I don't want to stretch the friendship but please........

and in a smaller extent American companies are relocating their manufacturing, R&D and financial centers here - cose it`s simply cheaper for them.

There is a lot of interest in the polish market because it is cheap to purchase businesses in poland (its all bargain basement) and there is little competition..

Normally when you talk about boom times, you expect people to be better off and doing well, not the case in poland.
