His classmate, the German-Polish engineer Bronislaw Kaminski (former volunteer in the Red Army during the Russian Civil War), was elected deputy commander.
Some names of commanding officers: Galkin, Tarasow, Turlakow, Proshyn, Filatow-Filatkin, Frolov ...
Guess what was their nationality ?having nothing in common with Russia except its name.
